  1. Exeter would be fine by me. Unable to make the weekend of 25/26 Aug as I will be attending the West Point Bike Show - on my bike.
  2. Black Zed with gold alloys spotted on A30 near Mitchell in Cornwall. Not seen this one before.
  3. John, good call. Yes his car was awsome but it wasn't a Zed so I had to call it a skoda! Anyway, as a metelot, Royal would appreciate the banter that the RN and Marines have between each other - even if he has now left. Looking at the tyres on the REX I would imagine he takes no prisoners on the road - they were well scrubbed.
  4. Brother reckoned you drove that 300 pretty well - for an old boy. Take that as a complement Ray.
  5. Couldn't agree more John. Thought this was going to be a bit of a disaster at first - especially as it was peeing down when I set off. In the end the weather cleared and it was a good turn out and a great idea for the road run (nice one Royal). Nearly got caught out on the way back as I tore past (with the clutch slipping nicely) Ray and Mickeybigzed only to realise that they were going slow for a reason - big cop car in front! At least the brakes work well! We need more runs like this. All us Zeds following that yellow Skoda round the back lanes of Conrwall was good fun.
  6. Good for me. See you there.
  7. I'm easy. I think the problem will be with those who are attending the dyno day in Plymouth. Personally, I wouldn't want to leave it much past 1800.
  8. Just bad luck if you get caught by one of these. All a bit sneaky in my opinion.
  9. There are four Zeds in Redruth so us Cornish Boys be right on with our zeds - me hansome!
  10. Sounds good. Me and Mickeybigzed will see you there.
  11. Yeah. Happy Birthday Kev. Must be your round next time we meet.
  12. You should have stayed in the Royal Marines. You could have been doing a nice spell in Iraq or Afghanistan now and not having anywhere to spend your money. That way you could be coming home with a wallet full of dosh and looking to spend it all on a new Zed - and lots of beer! Don't you miss it?
  13. 1 July would be spot on for me.
  14. This is all getting very confusing so I will just say that if its a Friday evening, a Saturday or Sunday I should be able to make it. My brother (mickeybigzed) will only be able to make a friday evening or Sunday (not a Saturday). Royal, I think your best bet is to set a day that suits you and if people can make it then all well and good. Nothing against the dyno day, but personally I would prefer to do a bit of karting or something - I also doubt it would appeal to those with non-turbos. Hanging around for a couple of hours while people rev the *****cks out of there Zeds is just not my scene I'm afraid. No, I'm not a miserable ******* - I will be the first at the gate for the Portreath RWYB (when the date is announced). I think we need to just get this arranged otherwise we will end up with nothing down here - again!!!!!
  15. Always though you Royal Marines were just a bunch of groupies!
  16. I'll watch this space to see what is happening. Mid week is not normally good for me as I'm in Plymouth although sometimes make it down on a Tuesday evening.
  17. Lovely machine. One day I will have one of these.
  18. Not sure if you chose a series 2 deliberately, but if you want to swap for a series 1, I have a spare. My car is now a series 2.
  19. An interesting subject and no doubt one that will cause a lot of debate - and heated arguments. As a "rough" guide I reckon that is a pretty good stab. Mileage, year, service history etc will always mean that prices must fluctuate and there is always the odd heavily modded car that people will be willing to pay a premium for. I'm afraid that I believe that the price difference between and an auto and manual will get bigger as most people wanting a sports car will want a manual (sorry auto owners - but then again, how many of you would have gone for a manual if you were given the choice again!). In my opinion, original Zeds will level off and then maybe increase in a few years time once they start reaching the classic status and the cost of bringining in further imports doesn't make financial sense. Look at the way the old 240/260Z went. I had a real gem and sold it for £1500 in 1991. Wish I had it now. This is all fine providing you can it for 10 years and use it as a second car I suppose.

  21. Your misfortune has helped me. Having looked at your picture, I didnt realise that two pice rims actually split that way. Have been meaning to send mine to a specialist to have them done but I reckon I should be able to do this myself quite easily. Best of luck with your repair and I would suggest that your replacement wheels are either not balanced correctly or maybe even buckled - hence the reason for the judder. Try and borrow a good set from someone before spending too much checking your steering etc out.

Just seen this one so stop giving the Cornish lot a hard time. Count me and Mickeybigzed in for this one - providing you keep that pesky dog at bay. Last time I took a quick look in your car the little thing frightened the shit out of me. With Kev and Jon going, reckon we should be able to cruise up to this one in convoy. Will have to be Sunday as Saturday is a non starter I'm afraid.
  23. Have a look on ebay. Search under 300zx exhaust and there is an HKS Super Drager single exit exhaust for buy it now £180. You may even get it cheaper as no one has bid yet.
