  1. You might also wish to speak with John Louden (Redruth also) as I know his leather front seats are not that good. Maybe you could come to some arrangment if your thinking of recovering them.
  2. Looking good. Need to start thinking of a set of 18s for mine as I'm also bored with the 17s. Where did you get them from? Truro alloys at threemilestone?
  3. [quote name=these are the rims i,m thinking of having [/quote] Exactly the ones I was thinking of getting for my red Zed. If you do get them, would appreciate a few pictures and an opinion of what they are like. Nice looking, unmolested Zed. Looks like a sound purchase.
  4. Brother now a definite. He has fixed the zed - it was the water pump bearing that had gone. It was only renewed 10,000 miles ago but was a pattern part so clearly wasn't up to the job.
  5. Not a clue mate. I restore classic cars for a hobby so my technical knowledge is not too bad. May be I just got an unlucky set that was just a bit too big on two of the pipes. As I said, it wasn't an issue and only needed a very small amount taken off two of them. Given the choice again, I would probably plum for a smithy hard pipe kit and pay the bit extra.
  6. I bought the hard pipe kit from 2fast2cool and although they look good and appear to work fine the damn things didn't fit stright on. Making sure I had the right pipes in the right place still mean't that two of them had to be adpated to fit with the use of a hacksaw. Not a problem but still a pain.
  7. Nice idea but are people really going to want to leave their cars somewhere else and catch a ride to Falmouth? Parking will always be the issue with cribbz - even the pay and park is always pretty full. You can probably add my brother "mickeybigzed" to the list as he will hopefully have had his Zeds water leak sorted by then. That said, is this going to be a zed meet with "zeds" or just a turn up to discuss future meets?
  8. Awsome. Would never have considered gold wheels on a white car but that looks bloody great.
  9. Count me in Danny.
  10. Does anyone know where you can purchase a good indoor car cover for the 300ZX Z32? Need to upgrade from an old quilt cover!
  11. Believe it's evey 5 years or 60K. Sure some of "our experts" can verify the exact details.
  12. And me. UK car series 2 with 2 owners from new with full service history. 53,000 miles and no rot ..............and never even been resprayed!
  13. Think we are waiting for the NEO to see the thread and make a decision.
  14. You may also wish to check you have the right plugs in. Non Turbo and Turbo run different grades and people sometimes get the wrong ones. Not sure about the iridium plug but standard plug for the TT is PFR6B-11C. Sure somebody a bit more technically minded can advise better.
  15. Now that is a very sensible idea from the Cornish perspective. Perhaps you might wish to run this one past Kim as a possible solution before we all start to put our points of view across.
  16. Crickey, lets not start this again. The only meet suggested in 6 months was in Newquay...during the week. As already stated, most of us work away from home and clearly a mid week event is just a non starter. Plymouth to Newquay - 70+ mile round trip. Hayle/Penzance to Exeter area (where most meets have been) - 260+ round trip. I think most would agree that is quite a considerable distance......especially when it might be one of your few weekends off. We have a reall opportunity to make this work (without having two separate REOs) but for some reason everyone seems hell bent on turning this into a Cornwall V Devon match again. The region is in danger of losing 10+ committed 300zx club members from the Cornwall area if someone doesn't come up with a sensible workable solution. Dan, please volunteer to be the REO and just sort this crap out as clearly the region is now in need of some positive inspirational leadership.
  17. My god, a cornishman with pure poetry in his blood. What next? Cornish (oops - and Devon) clan - please note my user name change. Been told that you should never use your real name on any forum as people can track you back through the net ......and with a name like Shelton guess there can't be many of us around. Back on to the subject. Well volunteered Dan. I'm sure there must be someone in the Devon area that can assist you. :hyper:
  18. Come on people this is quite simple really. If the NEO is reluctant to split the region again then lets just have two sub regions. One of the regions can name their person as the REO but there is a clear understanding that both Devon and Cornwall can operate as a seperate organisation. If Devon and Cornwall reps work together then we can easily arrange a few major meets to suit both areas - this shouldn't be too difficult. Dan, if Lisa has now stepped down, why don't you volunteer for the REO (beleive Cornwall has the biggest following) and seek someone from the Devon area to be your asistant. Clearly we have to try something or next year we are in danger of the whole area colapsing.
  19. Lisa. I have always said that it is a difficult area becuase of the distances involved. Many of us work away from home and have familes to consider so to then spend a whole day travelling up to 300 miles round trip just does not make sense. If we had a rep for each area we could easily have a couple of major meets each year but people are just not going to attend one every month. This does not mean we need REOs for each area - just reps, or sub REOs or whatever someone wishes to term them as. There are at least 10 of us down in Cornwall and we regularly meet up but most just can't spare the time to make it a whole day event. At the moment we are having to consider arranging meets by text just so we don't piss others off. This really is no way to run a club and there has to be a better way of making things work.
  20. Danny, you have done much to get the Cornish together so you certainly get my vote. Appreciate (now) that the area has already been split but with many of our members from the Hayle/penzance area that is still nearly 100 miles to the nearest Devon meet of Plymouth. In my opinion, with one rep from each area this has more chance of success and can only be good if we are able to gain more interest and keep the club on a sound footing.
  21. Have had two Zeds and both need to have clutches replaced. On my TT the clutch went from a real pig to depress to something which is now quite light in my opinion. I'm sure the experts will tell you but perhaps they harden up with age. If its getting near the end of itsservice life then maybe it needs replacing. Not too difficult a job.
  22. Oops. My fault - didn't know they had been split.:headvswal:headvswal
  23. Lisa, appreciate that there have been a few disagreements with the Cornish in the past but your efforts have always been appreciated. It is never going to be easy trying to gather together groups from Penzance to Bristol and for that very reason I will always consider that the region needs splitting with the ocassional joint meets during the year. Two reps (or one main rep and a sub rep) from each area could really work well and I know that Danny has shown an interest in the Cornish area. Perhaps it something worth considering whilst you are still the REO. Thanks again.
  24. Now i need to take a look at the heater as it seems to pick and choose when it wants to blow hot air and when it doesnt ...no good as i would still be taking the roof off now at minus 1 if the heater worked. So much better than a rag top. Precisely the reason I went for the Zed over a Supra or full blown convertible. No matter how cold it is, providing the heater is working, you will enjoy open top motoring.
  25. Having purchase a Shogin LWB 3.2 DID Elegance 10 months ago for £15000, I finally traded it in for £9300. That's an expensive 10 months! The value it was losing (approx £770 per month according to car mags), fuel prices and this government conjuring up new car tax bands (£450 per year ) made it not worth holding on to. Had hoped to keep this for a few years but I gave £3000and the shogun for a VW Golf TDI 140 Sport with all the works. 2006 with 1 owner and just 30,000 miles. Had her two weeks and the onboard fuel computer says I am getting an average of 58.2 mpg. Wow - will get my money back in no time with this little thing.... and it goes like hell for a turbo diesel. Meanwhile the Zed sits in the garage and I reckon she has lost no more than £1000 in the past two years. Not that it would matter if she lost £5000 - she aint for sale!
