  1. At last someone finishes a thread. All to often you read about a problem and end up having to guess whether the advice given actually worked. Glad you got here going.
  2. Name the place and I will be there.
  3. I've also heard good things about this place. Its beside the roundabout on the A30 turnoff to Torpoint so is only 10 mins drive from Plymouth. Biggish car park as well and I would suggest relatively cheap. Certainly a very reasonable suggestion.
  4. This works. My emissions were OTT until I pulled that little pipe off and she flew through last year. Make sure it is taken off before taking for an MOT -you will not notice any difference with it disconnected.
  5. Certainly one of the best gatherings we have had in Cornwall. Respect to the Bristol lot for travelling the distance. Not sure what happened in the end as we all got separated at the A30 junction. Thought the idea was to bomb up towards Plymouth but everyone seemed to turn around and make their way through Truro.
  6. Considered upgrading to something a bit newer but couldn't get in most of them (I'm too bloody long). Merc 500SL AMG and the new Jag XKR (second hand of course) have taken my fancy but spending £35K on a car that will sit in the garage most of the year just doesn't make much sense. Plus, the depreciation would be a nightmare. Have now purchased some new wheels for the Zed so she is definately staying.
  7. In the Zed. Bike riding was yesterday. 01.48 in the morning! You're keen.
  8. Dan I have one of the kits (balck and white mix so you can make the colour to suit your leather) and will bring it along today. It worked wonders on my drivers bolster so you are welcome to try it out.
  9. Okay and good enough to be riding my motorbike round most of this afternoon. If it is like this tomorrow then it should be just fine.
  10. I'm sure Dave is spot on and they are not the same - but they do look similar (but a different colour) - and I am sure mine look "similar"..........but are probably not the same (and maybe even a different colour). Hence I put "I think they may be the same". Obviously they are not so lets just forget I mentioned it.
  11. In that case, I will stand corrected. Can only speak from my own experience where my UK is very well undersealed, and my NA Jap import was not. That said, both are now heavily blasted with waxoil by me. Either way, as Paul has said, you need to look carefully at every car and not assume that a JAP Import will be rust free.
  12. "must have's" are 1. import not uk (rust issues) I think this is a fair point but many of the JAP imports have been in the country for quite some time now and they, like the UK Zed (and any other car come to that), need to be looked after. Having had both, you will find the JAP is not "usually" undersealed and will rust much, much quicker. Find the best one you can afford and don't be taken in by gleeming bodywork and smart looking interior. Always check underneath (particularly around the rear inside sills) to ensure your purchase is exactly what it seems like. Good UKs are hard to come by, but don't dismiss them - unless you have a tight budget. Good luck with your hunt. Although it is certainly a buyers market, rarely do good Zeds go for silly money...unless the seller is desperate of course.
  13. Dan Looking at your car in the phot, I think my new wheels are the same as yours...and lisas..and.....???? Bugger, thought they were a bit different when I bought them. Still they have totally transformed the handling as when I took the old ones off, I noticed the back lip on the rear right had a nasty kink in it. Not sure, but I may have had one that was a little bit off centre. Luckily the dealer took them in part ex.
  14. Yep. Certainly is looking like the weekend weather should be just fine. I think we all know that if the weather aint too good, people will start to shy off at the last minute. You can't blame them - especially if they are travelling a fair distance.
  15. At least this time we should avoid having people meeting in two separate pub car parks - there can't be two trickies in Redruth!
  16. Ashamed to admit that the candles look about the right amount. Only good thing about getting older is that your insurance goes down.
  17. Cheers all, just seen this one. Too many candles to fit on a standard cake I'm afraid.
  18. More than happy to supply the venue (field sounds a bit naff - anyone would think we were about to have a tractor gathering!).
  19. Friggin hell dan, you have had some fun with this one. Glad you got the beast up and running but it should be interesting seeing West get that in my field this summer!
  20. Great idea. Best way to really get to know each other is a good old fashion heavy session.
  21. If you have n0on standard alloys with screw on centre caps these can sometimes rattle. Many have rubber rings behind them to stop this but the rubber perishes over time - then the cap rattles!
  22. Good point. We haven't heard from Retro for some time. Is he still on the Zed scene? Last thing I heard, he was taking his car off the road to rebuild things.
  23. Trickies for me. Both Bro and myself will be in Zeds.
  24. Your smoke problem (unless there is oodles coming out) sounds more like PCV Valves and is a relatively easy fix. I really would resist sticking gasket swelling crap in a car like the 300zx - likely to do more damage than good. Great looking car.
  25. Bloody hell, things are looking up. More and more Cornish Zeders are coming onto the scene every year.
