  1. I wouldn't count anything out these days. This goverment has already gone and changed all the tax bands for cars built between 2001 and 2005 (after people bought them) so I wouldn't put it past them trying something daft like this.
  2. Good idea John. Last time you got so wrecked you missed the meet.
  3. Weather looks good for Sunday. Roof off job I think.
  4. Fine by me. Count me in for this one and also my brother (if he turns up this time).
  5. I'm more than happy with the Fox and Hounds (in Scorrier? or Lanner (where the last event took place) for the reasons stated in my previous thread. Anything too far on that day and I'm afraid you can count me out as I just can't spare the time. Hopefully we can make an early decision on the venue or we will end up with things going the way they have in the past and get no meet at all.
  6. 19 October is not the best day for me but please put me down as a possible. Really depends on whether this is going to be a quick gathering or an all day affair. You can porbably count my brother (mickeybigzed) in for this one also. Will let you know nearer the time.
  7. Obviously not a good day. I also forgot the Grand Prix was on. We'll try again at a later dat.
  8. In amongst the shyt weather we have had, there would appear to be (according to the BBC website) a ray of sunshine over the cornish metropolis tomorrow. Ideal for all us far venturing cornish to get our Zeds out of the garage and get together for a natter and a bit of breakfast. Shall we say 1000 at Hell's Mouth Cafe again? Unless of course, anyone has any other suggestions. 1. Shelton 2. Mickeybigzed
  9. Good turn out. Would have made the effort but was on holdiay in Namibia. Shame, looks like you were a little short on the Cornish front.
  10. Nop. Pre 2001 so stays in the old two bracket tax band.
  11. Good going guys. Nice relaxed meeting with a bit of breakfast, good natter and then Dannyzx and Retro sorting out everyones car with the datascan. Hopefully we can make this a bit more regular and start building up the numbers again. There are a lot of us in this area but clearly we need a recruiting drive. Ray - You need to get back in a Zed. Clearly you are having withdrawal symptons.
  12. Am presuming (obviously wrongly) that it is related to the July meet so common sense tells me it could only be next weeekend. If a date is set and I can make it - then I may well attend.
  13. In Sheffield that weekend I'm afraid.
  14. £5000! Anyone would think you were insuring an Aston Vantage. And I was moaning about my £325 fully comp.
  15. Directions. Turn off A30 at Redruth and head for Portreath. Go through Portreath, up the very large hill and then keep on the coast road heading for Hayle. You can't miss the Cafe - it's on the left after approx 4 miles.
  16. U up for the Cornish meet on Sunday? See area section
  17. 1000 at the cafe at Hells Mouth. Wasn't intending for this to be a big meet - just breakfast and a natter. I'm only home 3 weekends a month so if I wish to retain my marriage I can't go buggering off playing cars all day on Sunday. I'll also be attending with a three wheeler as I'm on the emergency spare. Had a blow out big time on the way home today and can't get a replacement until next Thursday. Still, the Zed will always look nice from the off side view.
  18. Anyone fancy breakfast at Hells Mouth this Sunday (20/7) as the Cornish Zedders appear to have gone into hibernation this year. Weather looks pretty good so we could go for a 1000 meet. Anyone interested? Attending: 1. Shelton 2. Mickeybigzed
  19. Think this one belongs to some guy from Falmouth. Don't beleive he is a member but did have a chat with him some 6 months ago when we both parked up at the petrol station.
  20. If they go the same way as the 240/260Z I'll be more than happy. All we need to is wait a few more years.......and years...........and years!
  21. New one on the block? Red J Reg parked at Scorrier fillings station. Standard.
  22. Had the same problem. Told them it was a JAP but when the policy came up for renewal it had UK written on it - not sure what would have happened had I had a bash! Phoned them and explained their error but they quoted me something rediculous for renewal. Now have a UK 300 and pay £340(fully comp) with Houghtons. Agreed value and limited mileage (5000). 2 mods declared (exhaust and wheels). 47 and live in Cornwall.
  23. With standard springs on the car should not bottom out. In fact, even with slightly lowered springs on it shouldn't do that. I'm running 18s with lowered springs (Eibach - 30mm)and there is no issue what so ever - even with kids in the back. Are you sure you have the right size tyres and wheels (correct offset) on?
  24. Just seen this thread so thought I would throw in my two penneth worth. I agree that the South West is too big and "personally" I would go for the three way split. If we are all sensibile about this, the three way split would actually encourage membership as you could arrange meets ad hoc and not have to plan months in advance - only to find out its pissing down and people don't want to turn up. Those organising the local meets could then liaise with the South West rep (Lisa) and maybe we can get the odd large gathering together. I think that if we carry on the way we are going, people are just going to lose interest due to the lack of meets in their area.
  25. If your buying a set (with tyres fitted) that were previously on a 350Z, I think you will find the tyres are the wrong profile. At least that was the case with the set I tried.
