  1. Very easy to replace. Even I managed this one. Took about 10 mins.
  2. Ordered quite a few bits and never had any probs. Always found him very helpful.
  3. Out of the picture are Mickeybigzed and Jon - both left after Smokey Joes. Shame as they had Red Zeds as well. Only a few more and we could have had enough Red Zeds for our very own football team!
  4. AS far as the shocks are concerned, they come with everything bar the top metal mounting plate. You will need to yours again. There is no bump stop - you would need to buy a new one of these separate. I got my shocks from the "www.zcentre.co.uk". I think they were about £70 for the pair.
  5. You will need spring tensioners but apart from that you should be fine. I had to disconnect the rear bolts of the link arms to get the shocks/springs free from the car and if you do that, you need to ensure the adjusting nut and washers go back in the same position. These will affect the camber (I think) so must go back in the same way. There may be another way of doing it but I couldn't see one. By far the worst bit is removing all the rear panels to get at the holding nuts for the shocks.
  6. I am a reasonable novice when it comes to doing this type of thing but I gave it a go and put new shocks on the back and fitted eibach springs all round. I wouldn't say it was easy (it took me the best part of 5 hours) but I would suggest that anyone with a bit of common sense and a good selection of tools can do it. The only real difficulty I had was getting at some of the bolts as you can't get your average ratchet into position to be able to give it the necessary pressure to release the bolts. A severe beating worked a treat in the end. Gotta say that this made one hell of a difference. Drives like a totally different car. I have also upgraded to 235 tyres on the front with no issues whatsoever and would imagine that 245 would not be a problem.
  7. This is showing all the signs of a seriously good attendance. Wow - a real first for Cornwall!
  8. John These look similar to the ones I am hoping to purchase this weekend. Mine are 8.5 front (235 tyres) and 9.5 rear (265 tyres) with deep dish. Hopefully they are the same as it's always nice to see what they would look like on the Zed. Very nice indeed.
  9. Jon If it's not your spark plug, your welcome to try bits off mine (PTU etc). 01209 821473 is my number. Home on friday.
  10. Jon Makes a chnge for your Zed to be stuttering - normally its you (after a night on the piss). We all remain poised to see if you will actually make this one.
  11. No oil on the floor. Guess I will have to try adjusting it and see how it goes.
  12. Whilst out the other day, the revs on my car increased with no apparent increase in speed. The clutch (full works) was replaced less than 15,000 miles ago so can't see how it has gone already. Tried the classic test of putting her on a slight incline and flooring it in fourth but everything seems OK. Just seems to do it now and again. Clutch pedal is right at the top so would indicate that she is on the way but maybe it just needs adjusting. Any ideas? Could it be anthing else?
  13. Smokey Joes is the place if it's sunny. All sit outside and have a bloody good meal for next to nothing.
  14. Cheers Baz. Makes sense now. No wonder she felt as though I was bouncing down the road - probably had them on soft setting. Glad one of them was knackered otherwise I would have been really pissed off that I'd changed them.
  15. Thanks for response. How was the UK sport setting activated. Mine appears to have all the connecting wiring but without ripping out carpets etc I can't see where the wires end up.
  16. Just replaced my rear shocks but the originals had some electrical gizmos on top of the struts that look like air valves. Car is 94 UK TT but I can't see any switches that could possibly activate these. Replacement (non air valve) shocks appear to be fine and after fitting eibachs alround there is one hell of a difference in handling - especially as one of the shocks was leaking. Any ideas how these valves are operated?
  17. Ray Back from hols today. Definately can count me and my brother (Mickeybigzed) in for this one. See you at the Fox and Hounds and then for a bit of fun at the Quad Bike Centre. Hopefully they will have a quad that will be able to carry my 17.5 stone around the course. Mind you, brother is nearly 19 stone so guess he will need a bloody tractor!
  18. Carting closed - din't know that. I would have looked a complete clown taking every one to a disused warehouse!

  20. Sunday 23 April at Perranporth will be mayhem. The only real parking area is the car park by the sea front and even on crappy days that can be pretty full (dog walkers, kids to the beach etc). Really do think we are better off going for somewhere like the Fox and Hounds at Scorrier or Victoria Inn at Roche (easy for those from Plymouth). Both of these have good car parks. As already stated, I am hapy to go anywhere but it would be nice to do something other than just meet in a car park followed by a quick drive round. If we went to Scorrier, we could then go on to the go cart place in Camborne or Quad Biking in Blackwater. Not sure what is available near Roche. I'm sure that we could just turn up on the day without booking. Then again, this is easy for me to say as I'm now away and someone else will have to arrange it - Ray.
  21. Ray Definately OK for 22 April if that is the date you decide.
  22. Let us know how you get on with them I too was going to order these but was informed that spacers would be required on the UK car only. IMO they look pretty good.
  23. If you are after an exhaust, look in the group buy section. I've ordered one (along with 10 others) and I think you may still be able to jump on the band wagon. send Topless a PM. If you can make the Cornwall meet it would be good to see you.
  24. Not sure what has happened to "Retro 620TI". He has not been on the site for a while. Nornally you couldn't get him off it! Have sent him a PM to advise of this thread.
