  1. Ray Good to see you are back and "presumably" on the road with the Zed again. Both me and Mickeybigzed (my brother) are up for this providing its from 22 April onwards. Anything before that and I can't make it as I'm away. Try and make it a Sunday when Jon is not on the piss the night before. That we, he might just make the next one!
  2. The word "treat" them as idiots is a giveaway - and that is exactly what you have to do. Of course they are not all idiots - I drive a car myself! If the guy (or girl) treated the driver like an idiot he may not have ended up in the hedge.............then again, maybe he still would have.
  3. Take it you don't like bikers cause were all shite! Nice rant.
  4. Let's hope nutter is not in there beating the crap out of his head trying to get it off - when he still has some bolts to take off!
  5. If you watch it again you will see tha the car driver does indicate - at the same time as pulling out. You don't indicate when you are avoiding a rabbit! My guess is that he wanted a race and got it all wrong. As a bike rider myself, as far as I am concerned you treat all car drivers as idiots. That way you stay on the road. I reckon if the video had stayed on for a bit longer, we may have seen a car driver getting a good kicking!
  6. The only reason I know this is that my son has just bought an S13 and had every intention of nicking my orignal Z alloys with new tyres. He is also pissed off!
  7. 7.5 J on the front and 8.5J on the rear. Plus, I thought S13 was 4 stud. Zed wheels are 5.
  8. If you are pre March 01 you stay on the old two band tax. If it's newer, it will depend on your omissions. Wife's X trail falls short of the top band. It's top band vehicles bought after 22 March this year that will really dip out.
  9. I was paying £240 (classic) with Houghtons for my NA import. Upgraded to a TT UK car and had to pay an extra £135. Will be searching around when it comes to renewal time (Dec 07).
  10. It's actually more expensive to tax my 2004 Mini Cooper S than to tax my zed. Car pre 31 March 01 appear to dip in under the rules.
  11. Cheers guys. Think I might just go the whole hog with eibachs and poly bushes.
  12. Having had a Mini Cooper S since November I now find that my Zed feels a little bouncy and wish to stiffen her up a bit. Have purchased some new rear shocks but as I have to fit them I may as well upgrade the springs. Have seen a few advertised (Eibach/tein) but can't make up my mind what to go for. Not keen on lowering her too much so any suggestions welcome.
  13. Saw this last night - just before I was about to go round there. Sorry to hear this, bad news alround really. Hope you can get your money back.
  14. Cheers Taff. Final question on this subject please. If I am now running with 8Js all round, what tyre size do I put on? Lets presume I am sticking with 225 front and 245 rear, what is the actual size of the rears ie: 245/40 or 245/35. If it had been a JAP import it would have been 40s alround but as it's UK I am unsure. Hope this all makes sense.
  15. If you're desperate, you could try double sided tape I suppose (the thin stuff that is)
  16. Right I have now discovered (thanks to help from club members) that the wheels I have are standard 350Z alloys. If I am to put these on to my UK TT what size tyres should I use. 350Z alloys are 8J X 18 alround but obviously my UK has staggered wheel sizes. Do I still need to drop the rear to 35 or should I just run with 40s all round. Would also be quite keen to up the widths from the standard 225 and 245 respectively. Any advice welcome as I know sod all about tyre configurations.
  17. Only Supra I would ever consider would be the aerotop. I bought the Zed because of the summer driving pleasure with the targas off. You can't beat it. If youre into mega power then the Supra is an awsome muscle car.
  18. Brills, many thanks. Perhaps you could also help with my original question. Will it make any difference if they are 8J alround. I have a UK which has staggered wheels front and back. Can I just size up the tyres to say 235/40 front 255/35 rear?
  19. Just sent to you. many thanks for this. Lets see if the experts can work it out for me.
  20. No, they are more rounded than those. That was my initial guess. I expect someone could probably tell me exactly what they are off - if I could work out how to down load a picture to this thread.
  21. Cheers Taff. I was getting a little depressed over this as I though I had found myself a nice set of wheels at a reasonable price - and then they were the wrong ones. That said, the tyres wont be cheap.
  22. Will be back to work on Wednesday. Manadon is only a couple of miles away so shouldn't be a problem either Wednesay or Thursday night. Please let me know if the situation changes and he makes contact. Must admit, I know how you feel. When you transfer money you are taking a bit of a chance on someone being honest with you. Luckily, both times I have done so, I have had no problems.
  23. Kirbz Cheers for your advice mate. What does PCD mean? Know that I have cleaned the back of the wheels better it actually states CD110 - there is no mention of a "P" CD. The only other marker is FZ32. The guy had them on a 200SX but they were way too big and he has subsequently downgraded.
  24. Would say Clarkson - but he don't like bikes. It's Hammond for me.
  25. I have been ofered a very nice set of 6 spoke alloys. They are original Nissan (with Nissan centre caps) and are stamped up on the rear with 18 X 8JJ. Offset is 30 (which I belive is correct for the Zed) and it also states CD100 (not sure what this means). Have tried them on and although they appear to fit, they do look a little big but that could be down to the wrong size tyres - 235/45X 18 front, 255/45 X 18 rear. They are in immaculate original condition and I am only paying £150 for them. The tyres are excellent Bridgestone Potenzas - just a shame they are the wrong size. My question is, what does CD100 mean and if I am replacing UK spec original alloys will the loss of a 1/2 JJ at the rear really make any difference (UK has 8 1/2 JJ). Bearing in mind that I am also gaining an extra 1/2 JJ at the front (UK has 7 1/2 JJ)
