Alloys for a UK Zed
What size tyres do you run and doesn't she wobble a bit when you hit imperfections in the road?

Alloys for a UK Zed
Standard UK Zed runs on 225 Front and 245 rear with 7.5 and 8.5 wheel sizes I believe. Can I put 7.5 18" all round and just increase the tyre width on the back or do I really need to ensure front and back wheel sizes are different (7.5 and 8.5)?

found what killed me box
Bad news matey. If nothing elese, you should be able to get them to pay for a new one - or contribute towards your manual conversion. At the very least, you could have sold your auto box and got a reasonable price for it. Presume you'll also have to pay to get the car up the line to get it converted -and that won't be cheap. Probably find out that the garage put one of their "boys" onto your car for a bit of experience.

Portreath run what ya brung
June? I thought there was one due in March/April. Sold my NA to my brother yesterday and zipped up to West Sussex to pick up my new Twin Turbo. Got a little pissed off with the last meet with me being sat there in my little non turbo. UK TT Manual (Red) 1 owner from new and just turned 50,000 miles. Full Nissan dealer history and a real gem. Chap was on this forum and replied to my wanted add. Really nice guy who only gave up due to age (70). Cruised all the way down today with the targas off. Well chuffed. With brother buying mine, it's also another one for the Cornish massive.

red zed a27
That one was me. Bought it today and it was such a cracking day that I just had to had those tagas off. 94 UK TT Manual. One owner from new with just 50,000 miles. Full Nissan SH (including recent cam belt and clutch). What a cracker. Well chuffed. My brother has now got my NA so another Zed joins the Cornish massive.

All time low price of Z's
Couldn't agree more. Being 6'4" there are very few sports cars I can actually get into. I tried a TVR Chimera this weekend and got stuck in the bloody thing! The Zed offers power, comfort, quality and most of all (in my opinion) the ability for open top motoring. Cars of this quality that are not modified up to the hilt will eventually start to creep up in price again - or at least level off. Look at cars like the XJS and Datsun 240/260Z. At one stage you couldn't give the buggers away. I sold an absolute cracking 240Z back in 1988 for £1500. You would pay upwards of £8000 for the same vehicle now. Zeds have a cult following (the 240Z ensured that) so good examples will be worth holding on to. The difficult period will come when the new 350Z is on the second hand market for not much more than a 300ZX.

Smoke from under bonnet drivers side but not overheating?!? any ideas
May not be related at all but I have had a similar problem for several months now. When stationary, smoke will start to come up from the front offside wheelarch and it is always worse if she has been driven a little harder than normal. Mine doesn't lose water or touch oil but I do have a power steering leak and I have put it down to fluid dripping onto the exhaust. Must get my act together and get under the car and try to fix it.

Game on. At the very least I would have taken the bike out for a spin so I'll be much warmer in the Zed - even with the targas off.

Cornish Meeting
I'm still happy to go for tomorrow if the next w/e is not good for you Jon. I have just looked at the weather for this area and it looks pretty good (with no rain) - unless I am on a different reception to everyone else. Personally, I think we should stick to the orignal plan. We can always meet up with the other group in Devon in Feb as suggested by Anna. That said, Feb is always good for a bit of snow. If we are not careful we will have the same disaster as last year. As already stated, I am happy to go with whatever and if anyones still up for this (even if its just the two of us) I am more than happy to turn up.

Cornish Meeting
Next weekend always suited me better but I am still happy to go with whatevers going. Saying that, looks like we could have more interest for the following w/e. Over to you John - looks like you have taken on the mantle of Cornish organiser. Nice one - well volunteered!

Cornish Meeting
John, 5 is probably not that bad considering we haven't had a meet for the best part of 12 months. May get some interest from the others I have E Mailed.

Cornish Meeting
Ray, are you playing this weekend? John is attempting to get a gathering. See his thread.

Cornish Meeting
Zogg - you down this weekend? John is "attempting" to get a gathering. See his thread.

I'm in. Looks like my little NA could be outnumbered by TTs.

Removing adhesive from dash
Petrol will also do it.

Fine by me Jon.

Cornish Meeting
Intention is for a small local gathering - hence keeping it in Cornwall. Start looking at locations close to Bristol and interest will fall off. Maybe if there is enough interest we can venture farther afield in the Summer. That said, thanks to those outside of Cornwall for showing support.

Cornish Meeting
OK, lets go for a meet on Sunday 28 Jan (1200) as this seems to suit most - weather permitting obviously. I have no wish to have a repeat of the epic meet in the car park at Peranporth Beach (no offence Ray - it was just a bad day) when only 3 turned up and all cars present got covered in sewage due to the gale force winds converging from the sea! The last meet at Scorrier (Fox and Hounds Pub) went reasonably well (5 turned up) so suggest we go for the same location - unless there are any other ideas. Jan is not the best time of year for this type of event but at least we can all get together and have a natter. If there are Zeds intending to come from Plymouth and beyond, maybe we should go for something like the Victoria Inn at Roche. Big Car Park and easy access. Over to all those who are interested for consideration.

Cornish Meeting
Wonders never cease - there's interest from the Cornish Massive. My E Mail address is sheltongrigg@yahoo.co.uk so please drop me a line and I will send you E Mails direct. What is the best day for everyone? Sunday I would suggest is the preferred option but is that OK with you John (Loudes)? A nice crisp Jan/Feb Sunday meeting may be on the cards if we get our act together.

Cornish Meeting
Ray Looks like you have had your share of troubles over 2006 - maybe 2007 will be better. Did you ever get those seat covers fitted? Would be nice if we can get something sorted out earlier even if its just another breakfast/dinner at Smokeys transport cafe. I note there are quite a few zeds I keep seeing in the area recently (in addition to the regulars on this site). Silver one keeps popping up in Truro, there's a blue one up near White Moors, a blue one with megga whate stripe appears at the Coppice Inn now and again along with a grey one parked up in Penryn, and now there's a black one just a mile down the road from me. Loads of them around at the moment but those I have spoken with are not members and don't seem that interested.

I think I might be a CHAV!! lowering spring dilema!
I too would be interested to know what those E Bay specials are like. If my memory serves me right they were about £70. Have been considering new springs myself as the stock ones are a bit wollowy in my opinion. Only problem I have is that I live down a pitted lane so can't drop the car by much. I see on E Bay that there are Teins for sale at £130 - has anyone on this forum bought and fitted a set of these yet as would be interested to know what they think.

insurance
Which company is your mum with. I'm 47 and my renewal under classic policy is about to cost me £306. This probably sounds like peanuts for most of you but when you factor in the daily runner insurance (BMW Cooper S) and also the motor bikes it all starts to add up. If I can get it for £150 I'd be happy as hell.

Cornish Meeting
Great idea. Never seen a 300zx run down the strip so anyone with a TT could certainly kick some arse - against the right opposition of course. That said, I nomally take my bike to this type of meet and this year I was looking forward to ripping up the tarmac on my "now run in" Rocket III.
