Red Z in Redruth..
Dave Hope all is well now you have left the mob. Still looking for that elusive bargain but summer is approaching and I'm now thinking that an MV Agusta F4 1000 could be on the cards instead - a car will always come second to my bikes! Anyway, my Zed is so reliable and economical that I am loathed to chance something that might break down every 5 mins.

Revs misbehaving
Cheers Carkey, much appreciated. The car never actually stops but the tickover does drop quite low. I'll try adjusting the screw as mentioned.

Silver Zed in Redruth, Cornwall
Wow. Two Zeds in Redruth in one weekend. Whose was the silver Zed I saw at about 1530 today?

Revs misbehaving
Happens to mine if I switch the "auto" climate control off. Switch it back to auto and everything is fine. Sure you have tried this but just in case.

Red Z in Redruth..
Cheers John - at last I have been spotted. Shelton

ther zeds gone :(
Dave Gutted mate. Wish you told me you were selling - yours was the one that convinced me I nedd to buy a TT and sell the NA - and it was a good price. Cheers for the drive last time we met and maybe we will see you again some time. 5 Cars at the last meet - looks like we are down to 4 (unless Ray is now fully converted to his MR2)

alloys - will they fit
Cheers John. Got that Zed resprayed yet? I have been looking for a good turbo manual but everything is always too far away. If they are anything like the ones I looked at before buying the N/A then I'm afraid someone else's idea of mind is not mine. Need something local.

alloys - will they fit
Roy Cheers. You obviously know your stuff - or at least a damn sight more than me! What other cars take the same fit wheels as a Zed? I keep looking in the classifieds hoping to find a reasonable set at a good price but you get many wheels advertised for a Zed - now there's a funny old thing.
-
alloys - will they fit
OZ Racing 9 X 17 Front with 245/40/17 11 X 17 Rear with 275/40/17. Off a Toyota Supra. Reckon they will probably fit but will they be too big? Would like to try but am not going to get much opportunity. Any one running anthing like this.

SW October Meet - Torquay, Devon
I'm a no I'm afraid. Like John, I can't make it due to work commitments. Would like to try and support events that are a little further away - especially when others take the trouble to support the Cornish ones (Dave and Legarth). Maybe next time.

Cornwall Meet
Agree with all other comments. Good to meet up with you all and thanks for the spin in your turbo Dave - I want one. Trust Legarth to ruin our red convoy with his black Z. There's always one that has to be different. John - get that car sprayed before the next meeting and bugger the expense. If anyone knows of a quality UK Manual Twin Turbo (preferably bog standard) for about £5000-£6000 let me know. There's one on E Bay at the moment at Redcar but it's always a bit of a gamble if you haven't seen the car upfront. £2150 at the moment but sounds like it needs at least a respray. Could be a bargain or could be a complete dog. Why are they all so far away? Shelton

Cornwall Meet
Still have the seat covers. I only live 5 mins from the fox and hounds so you can pick them up on Sunday or earlier if you want - give me a call.

Cornwall Meet
12 pm Fox and Hounds - I'll be there. If its good weather it might be an idea to have a drink then pop round to Smokey Joes for a slap up meal - all for £5! Not bad if you can sit outside. Depends what the rest think and what's on the menu.

wheel sizes which are correct...help !
According to my owners manual, standard fitment is 16 x 7.5 (front) and 16 x 8.5 (Rear). Tyres would be 225/50 16 (Front) 225/50 or 245/45 16 (rear). It would sound like your wheels are too small. You could easily buy a second hand set (original fitment) off of this forum or try ebay. They are normally very cheap (even with tyres).

New leather
Bought mine off E Bay. Saw the kits being advertised about 5 months ago but didn't take the chance as I thought they would be cheap and nasty. Have now taken the plunge and have to say I am bloody impressed. £450 all in for the kit (bit more if you want two tone). The guy is really helpful and the quality is brilliant. Took all weekend to fit as it's a labour intensive job but take your time and the results will be worth it. I had black with Z motif. Also swapped the bolster and seat sponges round whilst doing it - passengers is always better than dirivers.

wheel sizes which are correct...help !
With regards to your handling prob. Not meaning to touch the obvious here but are you sure it's not your rear suspension u/s. I had one of mine start to leak oil and the handling went almost immediately. Hit a bump at speed and she bounced all over the shop and handling round corners was appalling. Push down on the back end - if it bounces its shot. I bought two new ones from the Z centre for about £70 all in.

Cornwall Meet
Zogg Shame your Zed ain't up and running. This could be a good meet. Me being serving matelot, one Royal Marine (about to leave) and you being an ex-matelot (working for a brewery off all things) it has the makings of a heavy session. Let's just catch the bus and get pissed instead! Shelton

Cornwall Meet
Ray Count me in. Perranport is OK but a bit naff for keeping an eye on your Z whilst having a beer. How about the Fox and Hounds at Scorrier? Literally just off the A30 after the main roundabout and before the main Redruth turnoff. Ideal for those that are coming from further afield. Big car park and you can sit outside. That said, your call mate and happy to go wherever. Shelton

Selling cars on E-bay advice?
Depends how much time is left to go. I think if it's less than 12 hours you are obliged to sell but if it's more you can just relist it and hope to get more money or withdraw.(I think)

Red Z - Redruth
Jon It was not me but next time I drop into Halfords and see your car in the car park I'll have a chat. Have known Roger (who works in Comet) for years and did ask him about your car last time I was there.

Silver Z on A30 (Bodmin)
Monday morning (5/9) going towards Bodmin. Parked up in the layby with no one in the car. Were you broke down?

Cornwall Meet
Royal Give us a ring - always happy to make a cuppa for one of Her Majesty's finest. 01209 821473. I'm in Redruth. Can meet somewhere if you want but mate picks up his new 1200 Bandit today so the bike is No1 this weekend. Shelton (Senior Service)

Cornwall Meet
Ray Spotted a Grey Z today at the petrol station opposite ATS Tyres in Redruth/Camborne. Informed him that you were attempting drum up some interest and gave him this website. His mate also owns a Z - the one in the Camborne Halfords Car Park so maybe we will get a bit more interest idc.

Cornwall Meet
Count me in Ray - there is no way it can blow like a ******* and throw shit all over my car again. I reckon Perranport must have had an influx of sewage that day. Not sure how many you'll get this time (although 3 was pretty piss poor anyway) as I think the white Z belonging to the guy from St Austell (forgot his name) has now been sold. Also saw the red Z (guy who didn't turn up from Penzance) in the West Briton recently. I do know that there is a guy in the Camborne Comet (just down from halfords) that has a red one and I have also seen a pearl white one in Truro. A back ended red one is also in Cambellac motors at St Austell. On another note, decided as my car had now racked up 60,000 miles thought I had better get the cam belt changed. Nissan garage quoted me £750 - £1050 if the water pump needed changing as well. Checked out several of the local garages and they wouldn't touch it, but my son (who is 22 and a trainee mechanic) reckoned he could do it. Took it to him this morning, changed the timing belt, water pump and other bits and bobs for £230 all in. Chuffed to bits. Took him about 6 hours but said it was a lot easier than doing a Rover 825! She's now running like a dream and looking at the cam belt it was just as well I had it changed. Shelton
