  1. Ah Ha - I See What You Did There!
  2. Unbolt the 6 allen key fixings around the boss (I've arrowed one of them in red) and remove boss. Looking down inside the cast aluminium adapter you should then be able to see the original steering wheel nut at the bottom of the adapter (location arrowed in green). Unscrew the nut and remove the adapter. You should then be able to see if the original slip ring is still there.
  3. Welcome to the Club! Originally Ashspec were considered technically the best (and probably still are), however he pissed of so many people with his poor business skills that he has been dumped by the US retailers. For reference: http://www.ashspecz.com/shop/prodInfo2.php?prodID=17 http://www.ashspecz.com/shop/prodInfo2.php?prodID=18 I bought my Ashspec kit from SpecialityZ who now sell their own version of the kit: https://www.specialtyz.com/sz-smics.html https://www.specialtyz.com/sz-25-smic-piping.html There are also versions from Z1 in the states which members have used and Jim@Powerzed can probably comment on.
  4. There are two types of perspex strip, make sure you are aware of the part numbers. The strips are very fragile to ship, handle and install (don't over tighten fixings) and your best bet is to order them through a UK Nissan dealers spares dept so that you can inspect the strip for cracking/damage before you pay and leave the dealer. For reference - with 3rd brake light: https://www.z1motorsports.com/rear-lights/nissan/oem-300zx-z32-third-3rd-brake-light-assembly-p-664.html (see the Nissan handling instructions) Without 3rd brake light: https://www.z1motorsports.com/rear-lights/nissan/oem-300zx-z32-third-3rd-brake-light-lens-p-5800.html
  5. Best wishes on your Birthday David!
  6. Best wishes on your Birthday Gary!
  7. Great looking car Simon - thieving Ba****ds.
  8. Currently up for auction with bidding now at $12,250 with 1 and a bit days to run. Allthough not considered by some as desirable as its TT brethren this is a very clean and amazingly low mileage example. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1994-nissan-300zx-8/
  9. The speed sensor FSM test: el-44.pdf Also make sure that the end cap (arrowed) is flush with the body of the sensor.
  10. AFAIK that was for JDM MY 97-98 cars.
  11. The passenger side windscreen scuttles are usually damaged by not removing them first before taking the battery out. The factory finish on the plastic does fade with age.
  12. Fitment of TT bumper on NA was not a factory option. As you are thinking of replacing with NA bumper the two types have different profiles (with some preferring the TT profile). Pics for comparison. There are two NA's being broken on eBay in the UK (for slip ring). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300zx-breaking-can-post-world-wide/284119442250 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Breaking-300zx-Z32-Indicator-Stalk-Turn-Signal-ALL-the-Bits-On-Car-Separately/274473370331 Re speedo/odo not working - In the first instance check the speed sensor wiring by the gearbox, the harness and wires going into the sensor itself can get damaged and go o/c. Also has the speedo guage been "converted" to MPH with an aftermarket convertor?
  13. New design - same old mistake...
  14. Wecome to the Club and the start of your Z32 journey!
  15. Firstly, welcome to the Club! Firstly, have you conducted an ECU diagnostics to see if there are any error codes? http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/1105629/The-Ultimate-Guide-to-ECU-Diagnostics.html As you have done a 120K service was the cambelt correctly installed on the timing marks and tensioner adjusted? https://conceptzperformance.com/wiki/index.php/Timing_Belt_Service (scroll down to timing mark photos) and the Ignition timing and CAS setup? https://conceptzperformance.com/wiki/index.php/Ignition_Timing You should also check for boost leaks (engine under load and positive manifold pressure). http://www.thumper300zx.com/z32/boostleaks/boost_leak_guide.htm Throttle Position Sensor checking and adjustment (see Nick's comment above). https://conceptzperformance.com/wiki/index.php/Throttle_Position_Sensor BTW, there are two coolant temperature sensors, which one did you replace? https://conceptzperformance.com/wiki/index.php/Coolant_Temp_Sensor Also, how was the knock sensor replaced - engine in situ or removed?
  16. Damn , knew I should have gone to Costco's yesterday...
  17. Great news Nick - fingers crossed for you!
  18. Nice tool, thanks Alex.
  19. For car parts you will be charged duty (4.5%) on the declared value of the goods and then VAT (20%) on the goods, the shipping and duty combined. Plus a courier handing admin fee for customs clearance (usually £12 to £20 depending on the courier). You can appeal if you don't feel the amount charged is correct.
  20. Missing our Club get togethers, I came across these three videos from the FUJI Speedway in Japan taken last December when a large number of 300ZXs turned up together for a meet with (for me) the star of the day the IMSA "75" 300ZX all under a lovely clear blue sky with Mount Fuji in the backgound! The first video shows off the cars whilst the second video (skip to 10:36 if you like) and third video shows "75" opened up to see inside the rear section of the car and then started up (turn up the volume for those). Great to see the iconic car close up - what a great day that must have been!
  21. These have served me well for many years.
  22. I've kept mine over winter in a dry garage and on a battery conditioner at all times (the type you don't need to disconnect the battery). If the car isn't driven for a few weeks then I will move the car by hand (half a revolution of the wheels) to stop any flat spots developing on the tyres. Some brands seen to be more prone to getting them. If you have mild steel in your exhaust system, then a major cause of failure is internal corrosion from acid moisture produced by the combustion process. You need to drive the car after starting it to get rid of it, otherwise it just sits in the system and does its worst.
  23. AFAIK new OEM '89 spec spoilers are NLA (at least in Europe). I was lucky enought to get a new one from Nissan's European stock and at least two other members managed to do the same shortly afterwards. They may still be available from Japan (try jp-carparts.com). Don't give up on getting a s/h spoiler in undamaged condition as I have seen OEM '89 specs spoilers off old wrecks that are in A1 condition. How or why they have remained that way I have no idea, but they do survive. It all depends on how long you are prepared to wait. If you do manage to get one then I can show you how to mount it on the tailgate with the maximum protection to avoid the water damage which kills them. Part# J6030-42P25
  24. Best wishes on your Birthday Jonce!
