  2. Why you would not want to install BOV's on a engine with a MAF sensor: http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=2421113 -Andrew
  3. Personally, I would change it out. The cost and grief of having an 11 year old cambelt snap is not worth it. If you do, replace the tensioner at the same time and thoroughly check the cambelt pulleys. -Andrew
  4. Welcome! Do you know when the cambelt was changed? -Andrew
  5. Interesting figures from the IAM: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/legal--motoring-advice/2012-10/more-confusion-over-traffic-lights-and-emergency-vehicles/ Legally, you can cross a red light if directed to do so by a police officer. You can be prosecuted if it’s a fire engine or an ambulance. -Andrew
  6. spritley, the correct order is in the FSM link above... -Andrew
  7. Flush the old fluid out with new fluid, a litre should do it. Watch for the change in colour as the new fluid comes out. Old fluid is usually darker. Bleeding the ABS unit should not be a problem, provided you have bleed nipples on the unit. Later models 94+ didn't always have them as Nissan changed the supplier. -Andrew
  8. Yes, as per FSM steps shown in link above. You have Brembo calipers fitted? If so, you will need to bleed both sides of each caliper, outer nipple first then inner nipple. -Andrew
  9. Yes, nipples are next to pipes marked FR, FL (front pair) and B (back). -Andrew
  10. Pre '94 models have two bleed nipples on the ABS unit. Make sure you follow bleed order and procedure as per FSM: http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/br/005.gif -Andrew
  11. Ticket purchased. -Andrew
  12. Make sure you have correctly fitted/sized hub centric rings so that the weight of the car is loaded onto axle hub and the center bore of the wheel. That way the wobble nuts will be holding just the tension loads. -Andrew
  13. I'll guess 480bhp and 475lb/ft -Andrew
  14. One of the Japanese all time greats, however when ever I see a MKIV I think of this:
  15. Yes, I know. I think you are the first to have fitted the MK2s in the UK, so I wanted your opinion before ordering. -Andrew
  16. Are the Z1 MK2 throttle bodies made properly now? -Andrew
  17. From memory, oil coolers were added/upgraded to Euro spec cars after high speed testing by Nissan on German autobahns. The description of the system is here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/pd/035.gif Circuit diagram: http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/pd/037.gif -Andrew
  18. EL-95 has wiring diagram for power antenna. Just enter 95 into page field on online FSM. Some aftermarket radio players will have a "power antenna" connection output signal to extend the power antennna when the radio is selected. You can splice that into the power antenna timer module. -Andrew
  19. Headlamp/Washer circuit diagram: Headlamp washer relay shown as E42 with location: Diode pack shown as M14 with location:
  20. Yes, there is a lot of useful information in this thread: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=290506 page 4 has these links: List of the ECU address's of different sensors etc: http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/images_ms/Generic_Nissan_ECU_Sensor_or_Data_register_table_Ver_2.pdf Interface information: http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/images_ms/Consult_Protocol_&_Commands_Issue_6.pdf I also have the source code of the Empeg Consult written in C which runs on an Empeg player and uses the players serial port to talk to the ECU. I can email you a copy if you like. -Andrew
  21. A good DMM will test for voltage, current and resistance, three functions you need when trying to diagnose a problem. -Andrew
  22. No, it won't. Goose honk is always there. It just becomes more noticeable as you take off things like the standard air filter box to fit a single aftermarket air filter and then go to a dual filter setup which removes the T piece. You can get rid of it with one of these: http://bde-performance.com/goose.htm -Andrew
  23. The download option is the free 'limited functionality" version not the one above which costs 139 EUR. -Andrew
  24. There are two full versions of Conzult, one which uses their own cable and the one above.
