  1. Racelogic traction control (RLTC) uses ABS sensors from all four wheels. The RLTC intercepts each injector signal and controls them individually to achieve traction control. I can't comment on the Emerald ECU setup but the OEM ECU controls the injectors with common permanent +12v to the injectors and switching to earth (0v) for each injector. Here is the generic install guide from Racelogic themselves: http://www.racelogic.co.uk/images/stories/other-prod/Traction%20Control%20Manual%20v3_2.pdf and for the Z32: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/tech/tc/tc.html -Andrew
  2. Merry Christmas to you. Love the little Datsun Roadster! Reims is on the way to the south of France for us, so next time we drive the Z we could visit. -Andrew
  3. These are the revised ones: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_7&products_id=1911 Their announcement: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2488772/Z1-Motorsports-58mm-CNC-Throttle-Bodies-V2-now-available.html First versions were poorly made with butterfly sealing and shaft blow by amongst other manufacturing defects. Lots of complaints. Just let CZP know that you are aware of the issue. Z1 didn't replace the first versions shipped to customers, so there may be some still around with distributors. -Andrew
  4. If you are buying Z1 throttle bodies then make sure CZP send you the second generation versions. -Andrew
  5. This article may be of use to you - under "The Engine Block" section regarding overbores, cryo treating, epoxy filling water jackets and torque plates. http://www.modified.com/projectcars/9909scc_project_nissan_300zx_part_4/ Hope this helps some. -Andrew
  6. What steps are you taking to accommodate an 90mm piston size? -Andrew
  7. Aw Shucks! Thank you very much. -Andrew
  8. Why don't you get an agreed valuation from the ZClub? Equity Red Star will accept a valuation certificate from a recognised specialist car club. -Andrew
  9. Plenum pull with coolant bypass how-to: http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.458 -Andrew
  10. PTUs are basically six power transistors in a box. They provide the interface between the ECU and coils to handle the higher current (amps) load required by the coils to work. S1 units suffered from internal connection failures on the circuit board which Nissan overcame with the S2 units. You can read more here on S1 units and repair: http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.270 -Andrew
  11. Trolley jacks raise and lower the load in an arc. If they can't move on the floor as they do so then they will pull the load itself, either slipping off the jack sadle or pulling the other end of a raised car. Always use them on a smooth surface so that they can move when in operation. Axle stands can and do slip or topple in this situation. -Andrew
  12. Why is that picture wrong? It is for the latest Ashspec design: http://www.ashspecz.com/shop/prodInfo2.php?prodID=18 -Andrew
  13. Yes, Greg at Specialty-Z. Very highly respected Z32 tuner in the U.S. Posts on TT.net. -Andrew
  14. You seem certain of the use for the yellow wire? If you are working from "instructions" for the unit you have please post them up. I'm not aware of an older model of RLTC than the one I have had for over 12 years (but it is possible). The RLTC I have intercepts each injector signal and controls them individually when working (not as group which you seem to suggest is the case with your unit). -Andrew
  15. Well here is different view on Iridium plugs in Z32's from Greg at Specialty-Z: http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=1913149&forum=general&dtSearch=7 although he posted that back in 2006, he still stands by his comments: https://specialtyz.com/shop/300zx/ngk-iridium-ix-spark-plugs.html -Andrew
  16. I did but for some seat leathers. Which you very kindly gave to me FOC and I now have a repaired drivers seat bolster. -Andrew
  17. This shows how to replace the rods: http://www.ttzd.com/tech/tensionrodstech.html The OEM replacement is only available as a complete unit. You can get the bushes on their own (Nismo for example) which need to be pressed in or go with aftermarket tension rods (usually adjustable) from many suppliers. -Andrew
  18. Been to a number of the Breakfast Club meets. Great fun. This the next: http://www.goodwood.co.uk/breakfast-club/whats-on/events/bc-november.aspx The FOS and Revival are not to be missed if you are a true Petrolhead! -Andrew
  19. Here is the generic install guide from Racelogic themselves: http://www.racelogic.co.uk/images/stories/other-prod/Traction%20Control%20Manual%20v3_2.pdf and for the Z32: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/tech/tc/tc.html -Andrew
  20. Brasso will polish out light scratches in plastics. -Andrew
  21. Well I watched all of that live from the safety of my CHAIR! Congratulations to Felix and all the team. -Andrew
  22. This is the part of the installation quide I have for an EVC 4 which covers the valve body install (including filters). The valve bodies are similar if not the same for both marks. The filters are HKS 4599-RA017 4mm filter and HKS 4599-RA016 6mm filter. -Andrew
  23. Never heard of that happening. I would be more concerned about debris entering the unit and damaging the stepper motor functionality. It is a precise and efficient design and is very good at holding a steady boost and catching boost spikes as they occur. -Andrew
  24. You seem to be missing the two in-line air filters for the valve body. They should be fitted within 10cms of the valve. You can see them in the picture I put in the Garage section along with the valve placement chosen to keep the hoses as short and equal as possible. -Andrew
