  1. My hands are almost always like that too, I can scrub them red raw but still never clean, and I have a mechanic friend, who's wife got rather ill down below from, erm, shall we say, 'cross contamination'?
  2. I go through a big tub of Swarfega every other day, love the stuff, and you can also get Swarfega for sensitive skin too.....
  3. Very true mate, as you know I'm a mechanic, and I use gloves for oil changes and brake discs/pads, but not for anything that requires dexterity, as like you said, you can't feel a nut in your fingers and end up dropping it, plus they don't last 2 minutes, the thumbs go through and I end up with black thumbs and sweaty white hands, they do make you look hard though whrn you shred your hand and the glove fills with blood, haha, but I think I'm gonna get some proper mechanics thin work gloves, not cheap, but seem to be good, also, it may be latex that you have a reaction to, maybe try some latex free ones?
  4. You could also try unplugging both O2 sensors and try again.... But, as said, a good blast and fully warmed up might help.
  5. In a weird kinda way, I agree, it may be cramped, but once you've got used to that it's fine, even pulling the engine is a heck of a lot easier than most modern cars, and dropping the box is a doddle, but I do still shred my hands on most jobs though, but I do that on every car really, I've been thinking of a tattoo on my arm for a while, but it'll be a waste of money as it'll be ruined a week after I've had it done due to shredding of my arm :)
  6. I used to have the random 'boingoing' noise, exactly as you mention, I don't think my brake system was properly bled after refurbing all 4 calipers, a real good bleed using plenty of fluid in the correct order (on here somewhere) cured the problem for me.
  7. I had to grind a slot in mine, then chisel it and crack it, was a nightmare to get off, hope yours isn't like that tho, could try a bit of heat?....
  8. Hmmmmm, if you get an idea of price, PM me :)
  9. Great to meet you mate, unfortunately didn't see you on the track, met you after your first session, don't know if you had one between, but saw you as I left a little bit before the end, too tired, couldn't deal with traffic, so left a bit early, need to see that video tho! And my ears are still bleeding from your boot install :punk:
  10. I was there too, finished work at 12:30am, started at 6:30am, made some tea, had an hours kip, set off at 3:00, few stops on the way to meet up with my mates civic type R EK9 racer boys, (and they all got there arses shown to them on the way, no law breaking tho, no need to go over 70 to do that) only traffic was queing for the gate, then they sent me the wrong gate even tho I had my pass displayed in the window, but even that was only about 40 minutes of car perving, got on the stand about 9... Have to say tho, I did my best to meet people, but unfortunately, the majority of the zed folk I spoke to (didn't get names as they couldn't be bothered) didn't want to talk about anything, or even say hello, but the few zedders I did speak to (you know who you are) were cracking folk, and was excellent to meet you, some quality zeds, it's great to see everyone's different approach at doing the same mods/things, and I got some pictures of scantily clad ladies on my zed, although I was more arsed about them sitting on my zed than perving on them :) top day all round :) :) :) And my phone went flat as I got there, as I had a GPS speedo on it because my is playing up, and need the ignition on to use the cig lighter to charge, so only got my mates pics, bit of a bummer, but still a top day, 400 mile round trip, and only problem was a rather nasty oil leak from the offside VTC solenoid, which was amusing to the civic boys, thinking I had a turbo problem because everytime it dripped onto the turbo (which was quite often) it smoked, but other than that, she didn't miss a beat :)
  11. When I was a kid, we used to play a game called 'Knock a door run', it's still played today, but now they call it 'Parcel Force'.
  12. Thought I would update this, found a piece of old rubber seal wedged in the fluid channel from reservoir to cylinder, so fluid couldn't be sucked through...
  13. add 'EP Racing' for some **** bank pictures of VG30 builds :)
  14. Me, facebook, Jeggrey Tubor, doubt there's anyone else with that name! :) Lots of zed pics/build pics in my photos too, albums called the beast 1, 2, 3 I think, feel free to have a gander...!
  15. Really made me laugh that haha
  16. Slave seems fine too, but that's what it must be, will get a new one today...
  17. I've fitted a brand new piston and seals, springs etc in the master cylinder, Nissan oem kit, confident there's nothing wrong with the master cylinder now, but still the same...
  18. Didn't know you had a stutter mate (awful joke) :)
  19. Also, it has done this twice before a good few months in between, and cured its self over night, and also once, whilst waiting at a junction in 1st, with the clutch depressed, it decided to set off even with my foot buried in the clutch pedal, bit of a twitchy arse moment as there were cars everywhere! Is the slave cylinder the same on any other nissans? I have accounts with GL motors, General Traffic, ASL and Euro car parts, just can't see them having one for a 300zx in stock tho...
  20. Reet, well about a week ago, I got in the car, clutch was fine first press, pressed it again had a bit of play, then more play, more play, until there was just play except for about an inch from the bottom. Got back in the car later on, pressed it, still loads of play, then what felt like a little pop, then nothing at all in the pedal, just play, just how it feels without the master cylinder attached, just the pedal springs. So I looked under the car expecting to see fluid, nothing, tried to bleed it, but without the nipple on I get a bit of blow suck, but with the nipple closed, pedal down then nipple open, absoloutley nothing at all comes out. Removed the master cylinder and tested it, seals were not much cop, so ordered a new piston/seal kit, fitted it today, and it is exactly the same. I have removed all the pipework and just have a line going straight from master to slave. Slave seems fine tho, but there isn't anything else? Also the pedal is doing what it should, i.e. pushing the rod out correctly. So it has to be the slave then? Very simple system, but haven't sorted it! Any ideas?
  21. Hahaha, I didn't notice that  My misses keeps reversing into things in her car, she blames me as I told her how big 8 inches was :)
  22. I've seen the apexi ones? But, branded bov's are soooooo overpriced for what they are, I'm gonna go down the universal/copy route, and if I have any problems I'll be sure to post them, and if they corrode and look naff after a few years, I'll just buy two more, and it'll still be a lot cheaper...
  23. What's the size of the recirc pipes, internal diameter, or what size inlet do you need for the BOVs? Don't laugh, but I'm thinking of fitting some, I like the noise as I'm a poser, and also to annoy my mate and his RX7 even more :)
  24. Yeah, I used some stuff I bought from a model shop called Humbrol Maskol for some small intricate masking, basically latex, paint it on, do your spaying, then peel it off. I use vaseline when siliconing bathrooms/kiktchens too, if there's bits I don't want it to stick to. Good write up mate :)
