  1. Yeah, many mixed opinions on spark plugs, you can get colder platinums tho. Sorry cant be of much more help without getting down and dirty with it...
  2. I didnt know that, thanks, I hate waiting :)
  3. Also, are both halves of the swb prop shorter than lwb, or just one half? If just one half, which one? Cheers...
  4. Ooh, thats good then, going to a breakers tomorrow, got a swb na in, after the subframe, then just need to source half a prop... Cheers.
  5. Probably a daft question, but are the rear subframes/diffs the same on an NA LWB and NA SWB?
  6. Open your ecu and have a look, post up some pics of the inside of it...
  7. Where do the wires go? Could be many things, but does it go to the ECU? Could switch between two different maps...
  8. Could your cruise control cable be a bit too tight? Causing the throttle bodies to be slightly open?
  9. Just out of curiosity, have you had a manual conversion done? And I would go for NGK platinums for the plugs, the proper ones for the VG, actually developed for it, as I remember Jeff doing a write up about plugs, and iridums cause all sorts of problems, and he can tell if a car has them in just by listening to it on tick over...
  10. Have a read of this, http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?152683-Timing-light-tech-help I set my timing the way you would expect, using the induction loop on the PTU, but after reading Jeff's write-up, I did it his way, it was 13 degrees out, made a huge difference...
  11. In between making bookface comments about dog turds (stellaz), I've been polishing a ford fusion that I sprayed, and I am thankful now for all the, erm, 'excercise' my right arm has had over the years. Now I've just packed it in, time for a tinnie or 2, perhaps some porn, then maybe a film, ooh, the excitement! To be honest, I'd rather work on cars, than go out, spend a fortune, get pissed off with youths, get stung by a taxi driver, and wake up with a hangover and the squitters from a dodgy kebab. Crikey, I must be getting old.....
  12. My rev counter is well out, according to conzult it idles at 750/800 (once warmed up, it's higher when cold) but my tacho says it's doing about 1050, I shall calibrate it one day...
  13. :) What did you have done mate?
  14. Manchester? I'm in manchester, can have a look at one with you if ever find one going around here matey...
  15. Have you checked the timing?
  16. Off topic, but I was down Colchester a bit back, and was in stitches outside the 'Colchester Clock Museum', and someone had blacked out the 'L' in 'Clock' :)
  17. Anything can be rebuilt, if you can find a place that does it, chances are it's either got a hole in the rubber diaphragm, or the metal casing is corroded and is leaking...
  18. I've done it, actually changing the loom is pretty straight forward, APART from one pain in the ass, being a metal bracket that holds the loom on the inside of the bulkhead (above and to the right of the ECU). Now that I have done it, I could easily do another one, but, if you haven't done it before, I would recommend taking the dash out, or at the very least, the glovebox and aircon box. I think there's only one, maybe 2 bolts holding this bracket, and once undone, you can simply remove your old one, pop your new one through then start on plugging things in. I just chopped my old one off as it was *****xed. I still have the mental picture of the bracket, but no photos. Basically, the loom wont budge until you undo that bracket...
  19. How much was you wheel refurb? I curbed my offside rear today :( Stupid missus's fault (as always!) :) Fronts have lacquer issues anyways, so need doing, still mortified tho...
  20. I've got bilstein shocks and springs front, perfect height, but stock rear (bought it like that)... Rears way too high, makes my rear wheels look like 17"s compared to the front! Another thing on the list...
  21. Is the suspension stock? Same wheels as me, but mine sits higher at the rear...
  22. Epic, epic, jiz in my pants zed, and in the same city as me, but still yet to see it.... Wheels are Mania vortex, same as mine :)
  23. How are you finding it to live with, with the NA rear end? I'm thinking of it my self, I'm running stock boost, apexi intake, Mines ECU, and full de-cat, with divorced downpipes, just come in from a drive, and she's blisteringly quick at the mo.
  24. Oh yeah, I should read it properly :)
