Hi All,

 

My 300 has failed it's MOT on emissions. The reading is fine for about 10 secs but then it goes through the roof. The MOT tech has suggested lamda sensors faulty. The car does sit in the garage all winter so it may have had a bit of damp in there.

 

Does his suggestion sound OK? Any idea who sells them?

Did you take it for a good drive mate to get the engine well warmed up?

did he actually test it as a 300zx and not a 350z?

You could also try unplugging both O2 sensors and try again.... But, as said, a good blast and fully warmed up might help.

by the way did they test it as cat or noncat particularly read post 7 onwards

Thanks guys, all good advice as usual. Gave it a good 3 0mile blast but just the same. Lamda sensors failed, bought new ones and they are being fitted now. Fingers crossed!!

another tip : fill up the tank with 50% fuel and 50% E85. You will not have any problem with normal driving, just don't floor it because it might go a bit lean then. But should get you trough the MOT without problem without cat and bad 02 sensor.

what year is your car was it tested as a cat or non cat

pity we dont have any E85 in the UK now.
