  1. If you can borrow a boroscope, you could pop it into a cylinder and maybe see the stamping on top of a piston?
  2. I've got a mahoosive nuts & bolts warehouse near me, Thomas smith fasteners, they couldn't get them in 12.9, took me ages on the net to find somewhere I could source them from, and I had to get 50....
  3. If I remember correctly, they are 27mm long, thread is 1mm super fine pitch, 12.9 grade high tensile, think M10, very hard to get hold of and expensive from nissan, do you need some? I can knock you a set up, I had a box made for me, still got some, and have female allen heads (which I think are better), I have sold a few sets on here and used them my self....
  4. Have a read of this, from a renault forum, but same T25 turbo.... http://www.renault5turbo.free.fr/Stock%20FORUM/Documentation/T25_turbo_instruction.pdf
  5. If you mean the 20 or so rubbery washers for the intake rocker covers, yeah you can re-use them, but i doubt they'll cost much, I need to buy a set my self as mine are missing, so if you get a price, let us know :)
  6. I eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper, and loads inbetween, but my meals are at random times, as is my work and sleep pattern. And I'm a scrawny turd too, a bloke actually asked me the other week after I came off stage, 'So, which are you, a smack head or ex smack head?'! He almost got a slap, fat basterd.
  7. Impressive mate! Something else on my mahoooosive list of things over winter...
  8. That's an O2 sensor mate I think? If not, it's your dett. sensor, reckon it's O2 tho with the red white and black. You haven't got an O2 and the dett. sensor plugs the wrong way round have you? They are interchangeable, I did it after the rebuild, took me ages to suss out why I was getting code 34, duh...
  9. Perhaps eat more before you go swimming, so you've got your energy there? Or even a few bananas, natures mars bars (as my ex raw-vegan hippy bird told me, she couldn't eat anything that a vegan couldn't eat, but also couldn't eat anything above body temperature, if her blender broke, she would starve to death, haha, not much fun going out for a meal). I'm a grafter all week, and play drums at weekend, I'm pretty thin but eat like a horse, but I can guarantee, no matter how much I have eaten, after a serious graft or a full nights drumming, all my energy is gone, I put it down to there not being much meat on me, I've only got what's in my stomach to burn off, but I can't eat any more and can't put on weight! Might take a couple of weeks of work, stay in bed eating mars bars.
  10. That's what I was getting, over fuelling and pure fumes out the back, since I unplugged them it's fine. I do intend fitting a couple of new ones at some point. Perhaps it's something else causing yours to overfuel?
  11. I've got three legs too, ahem :) I've also got a three legged stand, fine for me, but I would imagine the four leg would be a bit more stable, depends if your going to go shopping with it
  12. 1 meg ohm resistor in the plug on the ECU side of the loom, that's what I have done, works a treat, I actually used the plug from my knackered det. sensor loom, opened it and fitted the resistor inside it, looks lovely and neat....... I'm just using the cheapest usb to serial i could find on ebay, 99p I think, although I have to mess with the settings before it will connect as it always chooses the wrong com port.
  13. Sounds like you've got a duffer mate, a conzult test is much easier to see if available. I've got both of my O2s unplugged at the mo as I've got a duff one, many people on here have got them unplugged, resorts to a pretty healthy base map, could try that and see if it cures your problem?
  14. or 'We need your chassis number as it's an import'...... Erm, ya just don't tho pal.
  15. Have you checked the rubber intake pipes going to and from the throttle bodies/intercoolers?
  16. I've got one and it works just fine, even with the serial to usb adapter that some people complain about having troubles with, no idea if it will work with an aftermarket ECU though...
  17. If you bought them flow test and balanced, especially from zedworld, and never fitted them, sounds to me like they're ready to go in. Up to you tho if you want piece of mind mate.
  18. Mine's called 'Trudy', although my sister calls it the cheese string car, due the advert....
  19. 'effing hell matey, got your work cut out there! I've already done my rears like you have, and recently noticed paint bubbling up on the rear sills, and a bit on the arch, gonna get it all done as soon as I get chance. Keep it up mate, good work, and keep the pics coming :)
  20. Exactly what he said ^^^ :)
  21. Hi Tom, usually it is the foot long(ish) loom for the dett. sensor to the ECU connector, or the connectors themselves that fail, due to age, or deterioration, but as said above, the dett. sensor can be bypassed with a 1 meg ohm resistor (as I and many others have done too), the benefits of this being the dett, sensor is smack bang in the middle of the V configuration of the block, under everything basically, very difficult to get to with the engine in the car. I have been running with mine bypassed for around 6 months, I did have it previously re-located, but then the dett. sensor loom failed, so I had to bypass it, well, until the engine comes out in winter. Hope you get it sorted mate, lots of help and parts on here.....
  22. I took mine off hoping to make up some of the costs of the new system, but they had been gutted... Got about a fiver for just the pipes...
  23. Might be worth cleaning and balancing your throttle bodies, think there's a write up in the FAQ section....
