  1. Hello again people, been a while. Finally starting the ball rolling to get her done... Does anyone know of where and cheapest to get a full, and I mean full poly bush kit for the entire car? NA rear end so including the rear track arms. I've search a lot, and emailed, but can't seem to find an actual complete front to back kit. I'm refurbishing both subframes whilst spaying the engine bay/shell. Cheers, Tudor.
  2. The mesh you can see is the hole on the end of the oil pick up pipe, the mesh is the first line of defense filter. Set the engine at TDC and check your timing marks, depending on how much work you are doing it will aid in re-assembly and also the cams wont be under any tension from valve springs.
  3. How are you getting on? Just food for thought, pay good attention to the wiring loom and connectors, they more than likely have become brittle (be careful unplugging them) or the connections corroded with green crap, well worth cleaning all the connections you can get to, if you have running issues it is a good place to start. Or, if you are able, replace the wiring loom for a new one, best thing I ever did, cured many problems and I have peace of mind for many years.
  4. Thanks guys, I've got exactly 7 feet, (2350mm) at the entrance, should manage it then, but after borrowing a transporter, don't want to get there and it not fit. Wing mirrors off, should manage it, will be tight and tricky (only handbrake, no P/S, being pushed, up hill, at an angle) but will get it in, have to! Thanks again.
  5. Can anyone tell me the width with the mirrors folded in, at the very widest point? I have to move my Zed (engine-less) and unsure if it will fit in the new garage. Thanks in advance (be precise, it's gonna be a tight squeeze) :-)
  6. Is it flexible rubber hose, or plastic pipe? Maybe some one used it as an extension to top the gear box oil up, or for a bot leverage and forgot about it?
  7. I wish there was someone near me selling one of those welders for 80 quid! Ruishy, I'll drive to yours with a boot full of beer and you can fix mine
  8. That bolt in the pic looks *****cksed mate, if the thread is like that on lots of them I'd replace the lot really.
  9. I've heard 50 - 100 miles, as Noz said, settles down nicely after not very long, but over the course of 2 -3 days I do feel it constantly subtly improve.
  10. I've wondered about this for a while, thought I'd ask. Is it normal for the journals, although in order i.e. I1, I2, E3, E4 etc. to have some read 'upside down', as in rotated 180 degrees? And what do the dots mean, they appear to be random. Cheers, just summet that's niggled me for a bit :)
  11. Stripped a cylinder head down completely, ready for a bath before getting the valves cut in.
  12. If the prop bearing goes pissy, it's more a vibration through your arse than a rattle, I'd be looking at the clutch thrust bearing, if the noise goes when the clutch is dipped. Post a video up if possible matey.
  13. Whereabouts in manchester are you pal?
  14. Are you not going for a dual intake mate?
  15. UK or Import, don't think there's any difference with most classic policies to be honest...
  16. Yeah it is an import. But, also, with footman james, you have to have access to another car, I'm a named driver on my Mum's, told them that, and they didn't ask another question about it...
  17. I'm same as you mate, 30, no NCB as I worked away and didn't drive for over 2 years so lost it (arseholes), this was last year, but footman james did me an all singing all dancing policy, wheels declared, £203, to say I was chuffed was an understatement. Got my renewal a few weesk ago, gone up to 223 quid, but she's off the road at the mo anyways, deffo try footman james....
  18. Do a water bypass whilst you've got it off, and if you want to, EGR delete, write ups in the faq section, lots easier to put back on then, and a shed load easier to remove again, should you need to... Also check every pipe and clip you see, maybe even change them, new clips, cheap job, worth doing... just my opinion like, from past experience :)
  19. It goes to the nearest bellhousing bolt mate...
  20. Let us know if you find something that does it, I really want to murder death kill my garden, so nothing can ever grow again, not even bacteria. I'm flagging and astroturfing it, and plant pots, so I don't want anything that lives basically. I was thinking allsorts like old engine oil or diesel, but it's a bit naughty...
  21. Haha, nah, I don't give her that much spending money :)
  22. I had a major leak from my VTC solenoids, one much much worse than the other, lost most my oil if I put my foot down, made a right mess, have a look at the back of the rockers and the bulkhead, for spray...
  23. I'll ask my Wife, she's good at that
  24. Received and replied mate.
