  1. I fancy doing this, but am a little worried, that if I only do the lip (the rest of the wheel is fine) then it will create a point where water can get under the laquer, all the way round the wheel (where the lip ends/meets the spokes)...
  2. I snapped mine on it... Then snapped my mates... Passenger side wasn't too bad actually, but drivers side was incredibly ridiculously tight...
  3. you'll want a deep 36mm, and ignore him, you don't need a bloody big bar.... You'll need a 10 foot scaffold pole and all three of the roly polies to bounce up and and down on the end of it :) Plenty of lube and an impact wrench is very handy...
  4. the diff weighs something like 51 kilos (8 stone), might be worth weighing it in if no-one wants to buy it? (suppose you were going to do that anyway, unless you were going to put it in your wheely bin) :)
  5. I'm loving that, but he really needs to buy a bigger TV!
  6. I might be wrong, it is late and I've just finished work, but it may well go to one of the boost solenoids, do you have an electronic boost controller fitted by any chance? The reason I am asking, is that the stock boost solenoids are usually disconnected if an EBC is fitted... The 'block' is a solenoid, probably for either the EGR or the AIV system, if you have a search in the FAQ section, you'll know what I mean matey... HTH...
  7. Gets rid of water pipes you don't need, which are potential leaks, and also makes it alot easier to remove the plenum in the future, as it doesn't have as many pipes attached to it...
  8. arrr yeah, I am, mine were very tight, I just kept undoing a little, oilng up, then screing back in a little, over and over again, have you got an impact wrench?
  9. are you using a 10mm spanner in the middle of the bolt too? (I've just re-fitted mine 10 minutes ago) :)
  10. I've got the washers, your probably right tho, I will be thread-locking them anyways.... Cheers...
  11. it is quite possble that shrapnel from the piston could've gotten into the turbo and damaged it, but I jope your lucky and they're ok, and yeah, at least you can do other things before fitting your new engine, and you'll know it's all good...
  12. mine was number 4, does that my Zed special? :)
  13. that's how mine was when I bought it mate, although I was told it had only blown the tub oil seals.... All re-built now tho :)
  14. if it had some water in the tank to start with, and added/replaced water from the bottom of the tank, it could, it does have a dipstick, maybe it has a certain amount in to start with, so it can't suck air in... Just a guess tho...
  15. Can anyone tell me what the crack is with these washers you get with the rear HICAS arms? They aren't normal washers, and the original arms don't have them, where do they go? Ebay linky to a picture.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-REAR-INNER-TIE-ROD-END-NISSAN-300ZX-89-95-4-WHEEL-/320483876589?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4a9e53deed
  16. can you email me the link to where you got it from mate? I need the HICAS diagnostics as I have just put it all back on the subframe and need to bleed it! dirtytudor @ hotmail . co . uk Cheers....
  17. true, you would have to be a nugget, if a piece of wood is used it'd be fine, but some folk may just put the jack straight on the U piece, that would dent it, I've just had my subframe off, all stripped and painted, each to their own, either or I suppose, but I'll stick to the diff and a bit O' wood, damn thing weighs 8 stone and is solid... Both places are just as good I guess....
  18. another funny one, I seem to get a 'Badoiiinnnggggg' noise, randomly, from what sounds to be the ABS unit, have had massive problems with my brakes, have just changed all the brake lines as they were pretty bad, calipers bled fine, but backs just wouldn't really work, all 4 calipers re-built too.... Am yet to finish putting it all back together, but hoping the new pipes with cure my problems, the old ones after taking them off, snapped with little force, pin holes in them perhaps, but what could this noise be? It is definately emminating from the boot....
  19. I use the diff, not the section with the fins on tho, the fins would break easy, the forward section of the diff, and after recently removing it, and refitting, I can ssure you 100%, you will not damage it, damn thing is solid as shite, whereas the U shaped part you speak of, could easily be dented or worse...
  20. nose? cos it keeps growing?
  21. My ex missus wanted a bumble bee on each buttock as a suprise, but the tattooist she went to said he couldn't do bees, but he said he could do her a letter 'B' on each cheek instead. She came home, dropped her kecks, bent over and showed me her new suprise tattoos, to which I replied, 'WHO THE HELL IS 'BOB'?!'....
  22. done, you'll need a torrent program to open it, hotmail wont let me send .exe files...
  23. Vods and anyone else, I have just downloaded a torrent with conzult shareware, datascan and nissan ODB scan in it, installed fine but not tried it yet, it's 11Mb, so dunno if I can attach it in an email, but can forward on the torrent...
  24. I used running in oil, supplied by the engineer shop who bored my block, it's basically crap oil that's not very slippy, as said, allows everything to bed in, rather than being too lubricated...
