  1. I've never used these (yet), but they were recomended to me... http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/
  2. I have used the loop in the past with an induction timing strobe, worked perfectly, checked it the next day with conzult and it was bang on...
  3. NA subframe, (that's if yours is a TT, no HICAS and diff is lighter, plus makes it faster but less top end), spare wheel, AIVs, EGR, carbon cannister, lighter prop shaft, flywheel, plus probably many many more things! Depends how far you want to go really, there's a lot of sound deadening stuff too, which, once all removed, does weigh a bit. That's just off the top of my head tho, I haven't done any of that to mine (yet)....
  4. The one's that go on the flange, at the back box joint, you will need them, unless your replacement exhaust has hangers welded on....
  5. We always do matey :innocent:
  6. well done mate, soooooooo, are you re-using those hanger brackets from the rear joints? :innocent:
  7. Give those nuts (turbo-manifold) a proper good soaking with penetrating fluid, or diesel, a reet good soaking, then just be gentle, undo a bit, tighten back up etc. and I'm sure you'll get the tubs off without further issues, then at least you can give them to someone to sort out, man up pal, get the hammer out :)
  8. impact wrench, cordless/pneumatic, definitely, it 'knocks' the nut/bolt loose rather than brute force stressing it till it snaps...
  9. Hope it does matey, sounds like it should....
  10. Ideally you'll want a air intake (apexi induction kit or similar), free-flowing exhaust (with de-cat pipes) and 1mm boost jets or electronic boost controller, to get your boost up to around 14 PSI (stock is 9 PSI), makes a big difference in performance... BUT, make sure your engine is tip top before increasing power/boost... HTH.
  11. The best thing i reckon you can have for a zed, is a compressor and impact wrench, will cost you less than a ton for the lot, and it will remove anything... P.s. if you manage to remove them without snapping them, can I have those brackets please? :)
  12. I see mate, oh well, was just a thought! I know what you mean, I've never seen so much butchering in my life as I found on mine, not only wiring, but everything really, it's like someone's given a monkey a pair of wire cutters, a hacksaw and a roll of insulation tape and let it go on a mission inside the car...
  13. Just a thought, but, what if you were to use a USB lead from the carputer, which will give out 5v and 12v when the carputer is turned on, you could then use the 12v feed as your remote, will come on with the carputer and go off with it too, just a thought mate...
  14. worth changing anyway really, if they are really old....
  15. can ya not get a dremmel on the nut and cut it, then split it?
  16. jack the rear end up, and check the wheels for play, first by holding it at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock, and then at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock, give em a good waggle, see if there is any play... when you had you hicas arms fitted, was it just the inners (track rods) or were the outer ball joints changed too?
  17. I used to have a very similar one to this, great bit of kit, and no, no need to mix oil with the petrol (2 stroke) the majority are 4 stroke... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-Petrol-Generator-EB3000X-/180684975641?pt=UK_BOI_Industrial_Tools_Generators_ET&hash=item2a11a9ee19#ht_500wt_1156
  18. I had mahoosive wish lists, but didn't have the funds when i was younger, so i had to stick to spraying bits of interior and other cheesy things (which i thought were well cool, but now make me cringe!) So so glad I didn't do it now, would've looked like a right tool... I did have a UV light in the foot wells tho, but it only worked if you were wearing white socks or had fluff on your pants :) I mostly did retro-fit things, elec. windows, mirrors, sunroof, fog lights, interior, all from scrap yards and better models, so all that stuff worked well, which now I glad I did, it was much better money spent than on fibre glass! But, I wouldn't feel bad driving about in that zed at all, just think of all the poontang you'd get :thumbup1:
  19. I wouldn't have noticed the welded on/smoothed out nut if you hadn't mentioned it...
  20. very, very smart mate, I love attention to detail :) :thumbup1:
