Calling all Z experts!!
I've done mine twice, I think I used just what I could find on here, obviously the second time is much easier, I just made sure I marked EVERYTHING (pipes, plugs, cables etc. with different coloured tie-raps, and if it got confusing then a combination of colours, i.e. red green to red green etc. and the beauty is they can stay on till the inevitable next removal :-) There are alot of seperate write ups detailing individual steps, they might be useful too. It just takes alot of care and patience and check everything twice, it's very easy to miss something and rip it apart with the power of the hoist (don't want to worry you mate :-) Other than that, I found it very enjoyable and very satisfying, we're all here to help ya pal!!!

flywheel bolts
Lol... ;-) I stand corrected then, but I'm sure you'll all agree that 80 squids is butt crack... Tenner each? Pfft :-) That would be handy if they are the same on a different car, but the old tensililility of the matter may crop up again, hehe... :headvswal

flywheel bolts
To be fair tho jeff, those are high tensile, they only make that thread in HT, and buying the correct length in the first place means no cutting, so no probs ;-) I refuse to be completely and utterly ripped off from nissan if avoidable, when they will be definately buying them for an absoloute fraction of the retail price they give to us, pulling our pants down and giving us a good old spank on the buttocks. I bought 2 tiny rubber suspension bushes for a micra, nothing special about them, 60 quid each, ridiculous, could not get them from anywhere else, and I would only fit any mechanical non-nissan part if I knew it was as good or better than OEM. So nerrr.... :-) :-)

flywheel bolts
Holy sh*t, that is madness...

flywheel bolts
It's an unusual thread, but they sell them in various lengths, either with or without a shoulder...

flywheel bolts
They are a M10 1mm Metric fine thread, I'm buying some from http://www.namrick.co.uk/browse.asp?PCID=9 about 80p each, or just as cheap.... HTH...

prob a stupid question .....but
I find those 'directional' lights I think they are called, pretty handy, they light the curb and pavement up quite nicely when turning a corner, although I think I remember a thread on here about someone getting a bit of grief from the MOT guy about them, but he still got his MOT ;-) Ya can always pull the bulb out for the test, that's if ya wanna keep em, like pete said, ya could use em as side lights or something mate...

Heater Blower she no work....
How much current does the motor pull? If it's a duff but slightly connected earth, wouldn't the meter still read the voltage, but under load the connection wouldn't suffice??? Never had this problem, but still thought I throw my two-pence worth in :-)

manual conversion
I'm in the same situation mate, I'm buying the bits seperately, but you can buy everything ya need probably off someone on here, everything you need for 700 quid, or there abouts, have a look in the for sale section... Have a look here too matey... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=117000 Hope this helps....

Black TT, Bolton Rd, Westhoughton...
I live on bolton road, and opposite the chippy used to live a black TT, with 18/19's on, that's about all i know, as i didn't own a zed then :-) Just curious if ya on here, as I lived almost next door to it for a while, and was an inspiration to buy one myself! And then it dissapeared....

odometer not working
Has it ever worked? (stupid question, but when I bought mine, it had been superglued up so it wouldn't turn!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-O It does have a little electric motor on the odometer itself, you can see this and replace the unit (as I did, from one from a scrappers) but ya have to remove the whole speedo/clock assembly to get to it, and there's probably a way to test it too, but not sure what, think it has about 4 wires on the plug, i would've thought 2 of these at least would be power to it, i.e. a means to test it, other than mate, dunno!

Mr Rosenberg Around?
Hahahahaha, classic matey, PMSL!

More blood gremlins!!!
Yeah, that wot he said n'all :-)

odometer not working
Is your speedo working? If not, it's most likely to be your speed sensor on the gear box, common fault, easy fix too, just one bolt and easy to get to. Here's a link to a thread with a picture of it's location... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=25280&highlight=speed+sensor+pic They ain't too cheap, but I have one which I am sure works, (for an auto, box was playing up, so hardly have driven the car, and speedo worked fine), yours for 25 quid delivered... PM me matey, hope this helps...

More blood gremlins!!!
Hiya pal, there is an idle adjustment screw, which adjusts the base idle (the lowest it will go), it's located on the IAC unit, at the rear of the plenum, on the right hand side, it has a grub screw facing the battery, have a look at this link, might help you matey... http://www.es-ab.se/z-car/IdleTech.html One connector is yellow, one grey, can't remember which is which, but as the link shows, it's the one facing upwards, as opposed to the one facing outwards... Hope this helps mate!!!

Auto box
I certainly wouldn't say it's easy, but it's relatively straight forward if your reasonabley practical, the main prob is the weight of the things, there fookin heavy! I have removed mine just the other day, got it done in about 5 hours completely on my own, but I have done it before... There's plenty of how to's and what not, plus all the help ya want from us lot... Best of luck anyways mate, chin up!!!

jap parts / UK parts? temp sensor??
Nissan (in my experience) are useless, and the garage near me refuses to give me even a ball park figure for 'a part', without my chassis number, even tho I know for a fact that 'the part' is identical on all Zeds. It's frustrating, having some spotty 17 year old lad convince himself that you know nowt, then eventually give you a price 10 times what you expected! :-) :-) :-) Ah well, that's where you lot on here come in to play, balls to Nissan, hehe ;-)

New kitt
That's the new (ish) knight rider film, watched it about 6 months ago, really cheesy, but somethin to watch if your into your cars, explosions, women n what not (like me!) :-)

Old auto box
Yeah, but I haven't got a boat :( :hyper:

Old auto box
As my auto box was playing up, and always wanted a manwell, decided to do it, have removed my auto box, but was wondering what to do with it? Seems a shame to just weigh it in or bin it....

Z not liking the wet, except in 'hold'
I had EXACTLY the same problem, mine would to change perfectly from 1st to 2nd, but wouldn't get into third until i gave it beans (mine changed at 6000+, which ain't good when ya've only done 20 miles on a full-rebuild!) And also felt as if the non-existent foot clutch was slipping... (I never got out of 3rd, as most of the roads near me aren't long enough to keep changing gears at 6000+ rpm in a zedTT without hitting something solid head-on :-) Anyways, I bought a manwell, and ripped the auto out today, sorry I can't be of more help mate, just thought i would share my same issues with ya ;-)

help needed
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have a mines ecu, apexi induction kit, 1mm boost jets, and straight through zorst, would that warrant using a set of the '11-B' plugs? (I have the 11-C's at the mo, runs ok, but hesitates slightly from tick over when accelerator is pressed, and sometimes tempremental idle)... Cheers...

Bodywork price guess
(sorry for the thread hijack......) What do ya reckon one of those would look like if it wasn't smoothed in? (my stock spoiler has got dermititis, and I'm a tight arse, even when I'm not skint :-)
