  1. Sorry for mythering, just trying plan out what I'm gonna do tomorrow :-) So using a screened cable, I would splice the centre to pin 23, and the screen to pin 50, sound right? I connect the centre to the signal pin of the sensor, but what do I do with the screen? Connect it to the other pin? Thanks for your help buddy.... I would consider bunging a resistor straight on to the ECU board, but how dangerous is this? (i.e. what if I get dett and don't realise) That's a last resort tho really, as I have relocated a new dett. sensor, so would rather use that TBH... Thanks for the help buddy....
  2. and too late for me too, haha
  3. :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
  4. I'm in Bolton, well, Westhoughton actually, as soon as she's back to bein fine and dandy, I'll see ya's all!!!
  5. The resistor isn't curing it, so, I'm gonna run a screened cable spliced from the ECU to the dett. sensor, I presume that would be the same, 50 and 23? 50 being the groundy bit?
  6. I had a very similar problem, it was the big pipe from IC to intake, it had fallen apart a bit where ya couldn't see it, under the jubilee clip....
  7. Pfffft, all that work for a green, 'beaten with an ugly stick' - ! NA ! :-)
  8. I found this on ebay mate, might suit you, it's stepped so you can see the gauge furthest away from ya.... Just a thought... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Universal-DIN-Radio-3-Gauge-Mount_W0QQitemZ250352172999QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item250352172999&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318#ebayphotohosting
  9. Hi geezers, I found these floating around from when I did my re-build, thought I'd stick em on here, someone might wanna have a gander :-)
  10. Cheers mate, I knew that, it's just the write ups seem to contradict themselves, nevermind, just being over critical matey :-)
  11. I can't seem to find my membership number on any of the lists, is it cos it's not been updated yet, or am I doing something wrong?? Cheers...
  12. I've been reading alot about relocating the dett. sensor, as i have done mine, but still keep getting 34. Anyways, almost every write up seems to have a sentence similar to this, eg. 'contrary to popular belief, and the nissan manual, the dett. sensor only uses one wire, the other is said to be a ground, but it is not'. Right, if that is the case, then how is it possible to bypass it using a 1 meg resistor, as it would only be connected to one side of it, and the other going to nothingness (?) Just wondering if anyone can clear this up for me, and to tell me (pic would be lovely) which pins from the ECU (not the sub-harness) go to which pins on the dett. sensor, reason being, I have made my own sub-harness, and just want to check I have got everything correct, cos I can't shift that god damn code 34, and I miss my tubs :-( Cheers ya'll....
  13. Also, you can test the sollenoids by putting 12 volts on the two pins, same for both, and you should hear it 'click'......
  14. Could be mate, I've just put mine back on about 2 hours ago, after overhauling it, you have the idle control valve (basically a sollenoid), and the air regulator unit that the throttle control valve is attached to, which also has a sollenoid. They do sometimes get gunked up inside, mine was clean (I have a similar problem) but cleaned it all anyways, and the connectors on the sollenoids were really manky, so cleaned them up, put it all back together, and hey preto!!! Still the same.... :-( :-( It's located on the back of the plenum, right hand side, with two plugs on it, a yellow one and a grey IIRC.... 4 10mm bolts, 3 you can see, and as always, 1 you can't :-) It's a bit of a ball ache to take off, small hands are handy, you got any kids? :-) Also, if you do remove it, and then the sollenoids, be careful not to loose the little springs when you remove em.... Best of luck mate, if ya cure it, let me know!!! HTH...
  15. Your lucky mate, mines in some silly cubic inche type thing, with a million different numbers all over it! (it's a mines face that was on the car when i bought it) And, it doesn't even work, haha....
  16. I'd go for a manual matey, at least then you have control of what gear/revs etc, but what do I know, I've got an auto! And if i could get her fully functional for a day, I'd tell you my MPG, haha, to be fair tho, it was a right pup when I bought it for peanuts, still grafting on it, so I ain't complaining, love revving her up in my garage and annoying the neighbours ;-)
  17. does it run fine if you keep your foot on the throttle a bit, how many revs does it settle at?? (i presume thats how you get it to warm up)
  18. Mine is connected tho, what could that be? The weird thing is, if I stick a pipe on the 'black box' and blow air down it, the gauge shoots right up ???
  19. What postion should the sock gauge be in with the engine off and whilst idling? I have a very similar problem, doesn't do anything, but when i rev it, it twitches up a (nearly) notch and then goes back to sleep. It's a mines face on the dials, so it's in cubic inches or something??
  20. Registered Users are NOT allowed to sell on this forum!!!
  21. Scum ain't they... Should catch the little sh*ts and tear one of THEIR limbs off, see how they like it! :-O
  22. I would if i could mate, but can't get it MOT'd till I sort out these little but very niggling problems, arrrrgh :-)
  23. Cheers mate, I'll have a look and clean em up, are they a pain in the buttocks to remove? :-)
  24. Hi guys, my car idles fine until warmed up, but when fully warmed up it idles fast slow fast slow, and often stalls... Also, the stock boost gauge doesnt work, just twitches when I floor it, so i took the pipe off the sensor thingy, and blew some air down the pipe and the gauge shoots up, so it's working ok... The gauge works off pressure, but suction coming from the balance bar where it connects... ? Maybe there is no boost? I also stuck an airline on the balance bar in short bursts, to see if i could hear any leaks, and sounds like one turbo is spinning up, but not the other, strange? It runs fine when not on idle, so cant be a turbo issue, can it? They are newly recond, could it be something else? A sloenoid perhaps? I've also relocated the dett sensor with a new one, and still keep getting a random 34, but i'm confident it isn't detting, don't know what to do!!! Sorry for all the questions in one thread peeps :-) Any helps much appreciated guys.........
  25. (sorry to invade ya thread matey) But, what are the benefits of a one piece prop? Just curious..... :-)
