Oil presure regulator
Thats what I think, but I'm seeking conformation.
-
how reliable are these cars?
If you buy one that has been owned buy the same owner for several years, got full history, had oil changed every 3000 to 4000 miles with good grade oil, is well kept up to even if its been modified or not. Then you'll expect to pay up to £10k even now. I know of three that have sold in the last 4 months for between £9K and £10K, but you'll have something that you know is sorted and you'll get plenty of enjoyment out of it. However it is a car and things can go that were unforseen, but the right car and you've should be confident that the usualy major problems have been ironed out or delt with. The real problem with these cars is not the car. Its the people that buy them and think they are a bugget super car. There's no such thing and to keep and maintain it will cost as much as a Porsche, Ferrari or Lambo. If corners have been cut it will come back to haunt you.

Oil presure regulator
What presure should it open to let oil into the cooler? Mine only allows it through at 6 bar which seen to high and the oil as a result gets too hot for my liking.

Lucky escape on way home from JAE
Come off it Chris. How could he have seen it was you with that smoke screan thingy you have :slap: + the oilslick you normally leave behind. He must have pulled off to clean his windscrean.  Anyway I didn't think your car could go that fast for more than 1/2 a mile without something melting or fan belts shredding and water boiling all over the place :x:

Another JAE thread - casualties? and thanks!
I never made it, because on Friday my daughter informed me that she'd been entered into the Wrexham & Chester heat of a National Modeling competition. Of course I had to go and support her + make sure all was hunky doori as she's only 14. Even though I really was looking forward to hooking up with a few of you guys it wasn't a total loss. She came second. Has won a Modeling contract for 12 months with a National agency and goes forward to the national finals in London. Well proud and Mrszx is well chuffed as she used to do cataloge work, but never tall enough to do catwalk. My daughter is the one on the left and her friend who came third. ]

Bodywork? Maybe a change?
I like the 99spec spoiler and when my car is wide arched this winter my spoiler will look OK, but I forsee something more like a 99 spec. P.S I do like the smooth look and your car does look well.

Sorry....
Don't be soft. It the nut behind the wheel what counts. usually how much they've spent and wonders is it worth it. Then you go and have a good laugh with the other nuts and hey it is worth it after all.

Rough cost to thatch a roof and lower a floor?
Call me a dum Asse if you like but I don't understand your question. Thatching generally costs about 1&1/2 times the price of a new slate roof, but it must have a fire treatment certificate and will need retreating for fire retardents and pest proofing every few years and completely replacing every 20 years or so. I know cas we looked at thatch for our barns unless you got money to burn or its listed. Slates is the way to go.

Friday, when's your Zed gonna be finished????
The cheque is on its way

Newbie looking for buying advice...
If thats at the wheels (which a precise figure like 428bhp would suggest) then thats is about 520bhp at the crank and consistant with most other people I know on here who's cars are of the same kind of spec. ie, Chris C, Paul Smith and mine. + Uprating the third and forth gear clusters with that spec is inevitable sooner or later. So if it genuine then its a very good value for money buy and should out last a tired standard car.
