no more engine transplants
1. It's "Scot", not "scott" 2. The fact he is crap is not down to his birthplace, it is down to the fact that he is weak and stupid. Suggesting otherwise would be saying that no Scot would be fit to be PM 3.Tony Blair was born in Scotland I agree Brown is a dick, but Blair was ok for the most part. Let's not turn this into a Scots V English thing. We are talking about the PM of the UNITED Kingdom.......We have had plenty of crap English PMs too.

The Official "Yes, I WOULD like to buy your album" thread!
Hi, When you check the postage costs, they will ask for my postcode - 97511, Bayern. Have a think as to when and how long you guys would be prepared to be out here, and give me a clue as to what size/type of venue you are interested in. Also, think what are you looking to achieve; are you only in it if there is a clear profit, or are you willing to break even on the actual gigs in the course of getting your names out there and selling some CD's? (ie Getting paid for a club gig is nice, but getting a slot at a festival gets you visibility) Once you have a think, let me know via PM and I will see what suggestions I can come up with. Cheers, Derek.

lockerbie bomber
Tell me about it. I work for Lockheed Martin, and the customer is the US Army - thank fook I have a month off. Normally when I meet new folks, they are keen to point out some distant relation that passed through Scotland, tell me that makes us "blood" and ask me if I support "Rangers or Celtic". Its usually a pain in the arse, but a good way to break the ice. Now all I get is questions regarding "that rag head that blew up our plane". I actually sat and watched the protracted, drawn out media circus of a presentation that twat of a minister made when the decicion was announced. I can understand some points being valid, although I disagree completely with the resulting release. There were various legal rights made available by the (then) Home Secretary (Jack Straw?) that would have required an exclusion to be made by the Home Office to deny them to ANY prisoner. Remember, at that time, the Scottish Government :xxx: were no less puppets of Westminster than they are now - the Scottish Government is effectively just a big **** off council. So we shut up and followed orders. Fast forward a few years, and Scotland now has its own Home Secretary. Having bounced appeals etc through the legal system for years, bomber is now found to be terminally ill. Scots law (as in English law) makes allowances for "compassionate release" - hence the situation with Biggs, and now this ****. The problem is alleged to be that these rights were not taken away from the outset. What I don't get is why the ****er was never just released into general population in Greenock. That would have sorted things out sharpish, and saved the tax payer a fortune. I just want to say that in no way was that a decision taken by or endorsed by the people of Scotland, or of the UK as a whole. The same month that has seen the highest losses incurred against UK troops as the fight the "War on Terror" has also seen us release the biggest mass murderer in UK peace time. I spent a few days shitting bricks a couple of weeks back. By Brother is in 1 Para, the unit that lost just 3 guys, and it tears your world inside out waiting for the names to be released. It doesn't make it any easier when it is not your loved one - all over the UK families are waiting every time they see the news, hoping it is someone else, feeling guilty whn it is. One of the Army mechanics I know from 172nd FSB (my day job) has just been killed in Iraq -RPG while he slept. I, and many friends and colleagues have been in the sand supporting this fight, and I may be going to Afghanistan in a few weeks. It disgusts me that this is all in the name of fighting terrorists, when our stupid, weak, spineless Government allow shit heads like him to walk free. I can't even be bothered to start on the lack of support, funding, and equipment for the guys who need it. There is nothing more shameful than seeing a man who knows this could be his last time out the fence sitting reading front page stories about MPs expenses before he climbs into a woefully inadequate vehicle to go on a half-strength patrol. Once again, sorry for the rant. I don't usually say much, but this is a case where truly, as they say, my piss is boiling.

Petrol Scooter/Pocket Bike
What make is it? Most name brand scoots have a safety feature where you need to pull in one of the brakes before it will start. Works off the brake light switches.

NA Manual - Engine & G/Box Weights?
Thanks for that. The lifting block I have is rated at 250kg, on a track rated at 1000kg so I will split it. Unemployed for a few weeks, so not got the cash to go rent a host. Bugger! Thanks again, Derek.

NA Manual - Engine & G/Box Weights?
Hi All, I have searched, and couldn't find the info, so..... Does anyone know how much the engine and gearbox weighs on an NA Manual? I will be ready to lift the lump out this afternoon, but not sure if I have the lifting capacity to lift both out together. If need be, I will drop the gearbox to the floor first, but would be handy to know what the weights are before I decide. Individual weights would be a bonus, but total weight is cool too. Cheers for any help in advance, Derek.

Been there, and it hurts - not my collarbone, but a full on face plant. That is when I learned your kite can be too big for a big wind!:wack:

Any power kiters on here ?
Used to do a bit when it first kicked off years ago. Sold most my kit when I moved over here, all I have left is a Bullet 1.5, and a 1m (stunt) land board, although never really use any of it now. The nieces play with the board, and the kite comes out once in a while for a bit of a laugh. Just remember; bigger wind = smaller kite! Hope you enjoy, it can be frustrating at first, but when you get the hang of it, all is cool.

happy bday derek_g2001
Cheers for that folks. Officially and old git now and got to start being responsible, So - Got myself the best birthday present ever - move out my shit hole apartment into my new house this weekend. Finally got a workshop for all me gear, so should have the Z on the road within a few weeks, funds permitting. On that note, if anyone is on a road trip towards Czech or Munich, I am on the route (check out Schweinfurt on Google maps) so once I get settled in, there will be an open door and a place to stop for the night, but be prepared to hit up Tesco's before you catch the boat! Cheers, and thanks again, Derek.

what's ya fave film of all time
For sheer gore and the "I never saw that coming" factor, I have to say the Saw series of films, but to be honest, there are way too many to drill down on one. Also like From Dusk till Dawn, the Underworld series, but love Brit Flicks, like Sexy Beast. This is obviously a trick question!

hay fever
I found that it takes a few days to be spot on, then 3 times a day and as needed for a couple of weeks does the trick.

how much is my car worth??
Hi, If I was you, I would have started by telling folks what the offer was, then asked if it was a fair deal. You need to be careful how you word things like your original post, so it doesn't seem like a hint at a "for sale" post. If you are selling it and it is in good nick, you would get a better price on here than the bay of fleas etc, so it would be worth subscribing just for that.
