  1. Just checking to see if the packs have been sent out yet? Haven't received anything so was just wondering, cause I'm in Germany and don't trust the post. Thanks, Derek.
  2. Especially when you wake up in the morning with a sore neck and random back pains.......... ;)
  3. Assuming that the trailer you will be using has the axle(s) placed around the centre, then you will need to leave it hitched up. Unless it has landing legs front and rear to stop it tipping. You say "that sounds expensive" - have you actually had quotes?? Someone posted that the wheel dollies could only be used to tow a broken down car. I know that on a standard license you are restricted to 750kg trailer, but there is an exemption for towing broken down vehicles. The solution is very simple - make your Z break down! I'm sure that can be arranged..........
  4. Hi, all you need is a recovery truck with a "spec lift", not a tilt and slide. You must have seen them driving about - normally short little trucks, same size as a luton van, with a frame on the back. When you look at the frame it is the same shape as a pair of glasses, hence the name. Do the same thing as the dolly, ie pick up the front or back and leave the other wheels on the ground. Try calling a smaller recovery outfit for a quote. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Spectacle_Lift.jpg Or there are tilt and slides that go completely flat on the floor, you will just need to call around.
  5. Hi, the reason the question arose was I have been hunting the web for an aftermarket rad for a few weeks, and everything I can find is listed for the TT. Its not that I specifically want a TT rad, just I couldn't find a decent priced NA rad and wanted to know my options. If you could give me the details I would be grateful. If you can let me know the make/part no I could maybe source one over here (I'm living in Germany), and save on postage. Thanks again to all.......
  6. Why would that be? Can't think of an obvious reason - unless the cooling area is reduced due to another (oil?) cooler or similar being tucked in the airflow - I am not too familiar with the TT, so excuse my ignorance. If the standard NA cooler is more efficient, why would so many pattern part rads based on the TT part be available? Surely it would make more sense to base your pattern part on the NA for retrofit into the TT? Bearing in mind I am looking at aftermarket/performance radiators, standard NA vs standard TT cooling isn't the issue. I just need to know if a radiator marketed for the TT manual will fit an NA manual easily. As I said before, many are marketed as "will fit with minor modification" and I was asking if anyone could verify what was involved. Thanks for any help.......
  7. Hi all, Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything using the search or trawling through the threads. I have a SWB manual NA, Jap spec, with a burst radiator. From searching various sites, I see that certain TT radiators state that they will fit "with some modification". Does anybody know what is involved? I don't mind fabricating new brackets or making new mounts, as long as it ends up looking decent. Don't want it to look hillbilly if you know what I mean. If anyone can recommend a rad that gives a decent fit, or a stock rad from another model that fits, please let me know. Thanks in advance........ :nana2:
  8. Sorry for the confusion - the least I expected was for my bank to at let me use my account details for a reference, bearing in mind they wouldn't let me add any reference of my own. Let me know when I can send my details on please. Sorry again! Derek
  9. Hi, sent the £20 by bank transfer today-usual 3 days to clear. Couldn't put my screenname on as a reference cause Co-Op suck! When you get a payment from PATHFINDER WORLDWIDE 08-90-60 01****50, then that is from "derek_g2001". Tried to PM my details (to 300zx girl), but the system won't let me. Can you let me know when I can do this? Thanks in advance, Derek.
  10. So from reading this, it appears although the slicktops are rarer, the targas are actually prefered.....? Which doesn't help me decide on if I should spend any money on getting my slicktop NA manual back on the road!!!
  11. So I am a muppet - went back and re read your first post. UNUSED holes in the actual ignition switch will be for accessories which may be available, more likely on a different bike, the one switch being used on several different models in the range......... From what I read this time, the bike actually tries to start? I assume you have tried the basics (fuel good/spark present/no kill switches). If it is sparking and the fuel hasn't gone off then you will need to look a little deeper, and get back to me with as much info as poss regarding any strange noise, smell, condition and colour of the plug etc.
  12. Will do my best. Used to get stolen bikes in all the time. Can you let me know the wire colours, and note any difference in gauge of wire. Will do my best to get back to you over the weekend.
  13. Depending on the set up, you could be looking at a sidestand cut out switch, the emergency kill switch, or even the neutral safety switch. I know the bike you mean, but have never worked on one, so I only offer possibilities. I will try get a wiring diagram over the weekend and get back to youu.
  14. Sorry for the dumb question, BUT............ I picked up an older (1990?) 2+0 slicktop. Its a bit tatty- needs a bit of tidying up and a bloody good clean. It got a replacement engine about 6 months ago, I believe out of a wreck (not a rebuilt engine). Its a dark silver Fairlady/Jap spec, manual NA, leather seats, still restricted/standard. I assume from what I have been reading on hear that it is worth spending a little bit to get her up to standard? I only paid 200 Euro for it - was going to use her for a couple of track days till she blew, then break her. It is registered in the UK, but I have been living in Germany for 4 years and will need to do a bit of work on it to get it through the German inspection, and am just trying to decide if I want to spend money on changing the lights for left hand drive ones & replacing the radiator, pretty much all it needs done to pass. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated Thanks in advance, Derek.
