try rotating the crank slightly... it's possible one cylinder is on overlap so you'll lose pressure through the exhaust valve...

Hicas doesn't aid low speed manouevres - only high speed... you can short the power steering fluid sensor to lock the hicas... thing is, most hicas problems are because the arms & bushes are shot - so it's best to either fix it properly or bin it (and still replace the arms if necessary!) Rich

just realised - he doesn't mean just swapping the dial faces - the entire unit... i.e. the gubbins too!

It will work - ecu only sends a pulsed signal regardless of whether the car is euro/ jap/ etc... the clock that you put in converts the signal to a dial output... I believe that you can swap the odometer over too.. but not 100%... I think AndyP posted about it a long time ago... hth Rich

stock temp gauge? They're notorious for sitting bang in the middle until it's WAY overheated... You'd be better getting it recovered home unless you can find and fix the leak... AA/ RAC? Just not worth risking damage..
