  1. changed between series - series 2 had more warning lights around the clocks, so the old positions were blanked off.
  2. Now I come to think of it, mine's been on a stand for 2 years as well!!! With bog standard bolts from B&Q!!!
  3. I'd be very interested... and will re-subscribe before anyone jumps on me ;) Any ideas on price?? First dibs?
  4. "assess subjectively the effectiveness of the silencer in reducing exhaust noise to a level considered to be average for the vehicle... in comparison to a similar vehicle with a standard silencer in average condition" Given that you're almost never going to have 2 300zx's next to each other (let alone one with a standard exhaust!) it's completely hypothetical, and is probably only going to be used on small engined cars with big exhausts... cos they sound rubbish! ;)
  5. it's not the mot that's changed, just the guidance notes - the key word is 'comparison'; it doesnt say anywhere that if the exhaust is louder you will fail.
  6. Well I was sure... but then I tried to find it, and I can't! Must have just been a white paper proposal or something. I only remember it because I got a failure to display fixed penalty, and remember thinking it would have been a real shi**er!!
  7. it does now - the law was changed a few years ago.
  8. I thought the definition was "detonation sensor circuit" as in it could be either - in fact it must be, as the ecu has no way of knowing whether it's the loom or sensor that's open/ faulty.
  9. Yep... this might be helpful: http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26120&highlight=clutch+reservoir Rich
  10. Will be a series 2 won't it?? I do still like red... shame i stuffed my last one!!
  11. Damn it I need to re-sub to edit!! You'll almost certainly find it's the small yellow clip on the end of the lock rod - brittle at the best of times, never mind when it's this cold!!
  12. You can swap the clip from the passenger side... but if that goes you;re looking at climbing in through the boot!! The clip isn't available seperately either! Best to try a breaker - late models had a metal clip which will prevent it happening again!
  13. here you go: http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/clock/clock.html
  14. almost certainly going to be the clock itself... very common problem. AndyP used to fix them - or if you do a search on here and are handy with a soldering iron you can do it yourself!
  15. Yep - it's like an automatic clutch if you like.
  16. viscous coupling is purely mechanical - the aux fan is ecu controlled tho.
  17. I might have phrased that slighty wrong - an identical exhaust will be louder on an NA than a TT as turbos act as a silencer...
  18. TT/ NA exhaust are interchangeable... just remember a TT exhaust on an NA will be considerably louder...
  19. mentioned in here http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=75334&highlight=driftworks+camber but I can't follow the link! It's to do with the shoulder being a different length, which causes it to foul when the suspension moves full travel... I can;t find the pictures at the minute, but there was one with the 2 shown together, highlighting the different proportions.
  20. be careful with the front upper camber arms... r32 ones aren't the same as 300zx ones - there's some pictures on here somewhere of the difference... and the resulting failures!!
  21. you can pay a premium for cars over 10 yrs.
