  1. You can buy plastic polish - I think Halfords sell it actually... have a look on detailingworld too - should be loads of info on there. I've used brasso to remove marks in the speedo cover before and that did the job too, guess it depends how bad the marks are. Rich
  2. To get it chromed, it needs polishing first so definitely not cheaper... the main problem with chroming is if it does lift or get damaged then it will need re-chroming whereas with polished you can repolisg it if the damage is only slight. Rich
  3. oops, sorry mate - email received, and in the post! Others have gone to people who PM'd (I remembered to reply to those!) so ALL GONE Rich

  5. I've also got 3 of these left - for existing or new customers... PM me if you want me to post them out. Rich
  6. Here you go: http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/bf/006.gif
  7. sounds like you've been sent the airfilter splashguard - like a corruagated plastic strip? If so that should help your problem. It mounts along the front... should be in the manual...
  8. Failed MAF will cut the revs at 2,500 - if you unplug it (under headlamp panel) and it still runs the same, that's the culprit... try cleaning the plug, may clear it. Probably also worth doing an ECU diagnostic - do a search on here for instructions... pretty simple, just need to remove the panel under the passenger footwell. hth Rich
  9. Sounds like urban myth to me... was reported by the Sun last month http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/campaigns/our_boys/2704029/Asda-till-snub-for-Hope-for-Heroes-mum.html unless it's happening in lots of different Asda stores! Probably a rumour started by Sainsburys in the run up to Christmas!!
  10. hazard switch? If the mountings are broken inside, the switch doesn't always fully release and can cause all sorts of weird indicator problems - if you remove the switch from the pod and then turn your hazards on and off & the indicator still works, that's your problem... Min did it a few years ago but it was intermittent so only found out when someone told me to chek the hazard switch. Rich
  11. The problem is your car has incorrectly been recorded as manufactured 2004 - see http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/application?origin=vnav_bar.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.refresh&pageid=Vehicle+Enquiry - So when they log your car into the system, it will dictate that the cat test is needed... There are a few mot testers on here who may be able to advise, Ossian for example, but without getting DVLA to alter your logbook I think you may struggle.
  12. Used to have a 2002 c class - plagued with electrical problems, and wouldn't touch one that sort of age again... supposedly sorted out reliability issues on the next generation though. Know 2 people with minis and, although I can't stand them, they've been reliable and, surprisingly to me(!), ok to drive!
  13. That's the one - he's just had it resprayed - used to be tatty blue, with a 518 badge on it! It's had a lot of work done to it, and is a monster to drive - bit tail happy though! I'm in Oxenholme, and work in Chester... will be back on track days when I finally get the car finished - engine and gearbox to go back in, then mapping... just finding no time at the minute!
  14. Always fun in the wet! Last time I was there, it started raining at lunch and, feeling confident from a good morning session, I lost it coming out of cascades, touched the kerb on the outside and spun right across the track, through the gravel and into the tyres... not a good day! Was there a white M535 there? A friend of mine was trying to get me to go, but work got in the way...!
  15. Have a google for Holset turbos - some interesting reading on many forums...
  16. Just had an email from these guys - had some plates made up by them a while ago... 15% discount if you use the promo code xmas09... in case anyone's looking! Rich
  17. When I was looking, I read all the forums, reviews etc etc & got so confused with all the conflicting info that I just went into the shop and bought one! Ended up with a 42" LG plasma - looks great to my eyes, HD is brilliant, and any slight screen burn after using a console goes after a power down... got it from Richer Sounds for 700-odd, and that includes a 5 year warranty (10% on top of purchase price). Rich
  18. lahsx was fitting an electric pump... maybe worth a pm?
  19. Not sure insurance co will be too impressed...?
  20. £15 - £20 is just for your first time, covers membership card, pack etc...
  21. In fact, I've got a PDF of the manual here if you want me to email...
  22. Oops! I don't think there is a reset... when you say you;ve nadgered it up... do you mean it just doesn't shut down any more or doesn;t light up etc? It's ages since I set one up, but if it's been wired in 'fully' you can put it in auto mode and it determines the cooldown perriod from driving conditions. Have you got the full instructions for it? The ones I had were a flow diagram for each mode and pretty good...? Rich
  23. What about image verification during signup? I assume they're all automated registrations...
