So disappointed...
That question works both ways - CPS/ Police have to justify their expenses too!

So disappointed...
The lesson is - admit nothing! Should have denied it and told him you'd see him in court!! Unless he had a camera running he'd really struggle... in fact I'm sure you'd have had maybe 100 witnesses from the cruise who would testify you didn't have your fogs on!! You not slightly tempted to go to court??

r230 4.1 diff
I would honestly say that if you have to ask, you won't be able to do.. and I'm not being a t*at - I'm all for DIY, and have a degree in mechanical engineering, but wouldn't even bother trying - if you haven't got the tools to measure, machine, re-measure, fit and be 100% confident that the result will la more than a few hundred miles then it's one of those occasions where the professionals really are worth their cost!

r230 4.1 diff
they need setting up properly... lash angle etc - from what i've been told, if you don't know, don;t attempt!!

Stop someone stealing your car.....
really?? I struggled to get the car back from chester - it was only 2 miles! Would start to miss in second gear and shake the car like hell... maybe there was something else wrong when mine went!!
-
Stop someone stealing your car.....
maybe in theory - but when it happens you have nowhere near enough torque... it should really be described as a "limp to the side of the road and wait for AA" mode!!

Who is watching us ???

MOT test question
Actually, I replied slightly wrong - as long as you present your current certificate it will have the current date on but expire 12 months from the expiry date of the last one - so it is possible to have a 13 month mot... Rich

MOT test question
I'm neither - but it's 28 days ahead, and valid from the expiry of the current one...

Seires 1/2 Door Wiring
yep - that's definitely connected...

Seires 1/2 Door Wiring
ok - i'm getting confused by all the different posts I'm finding... The window regulator is the black box with a single white plug which connects into it...is that correct? This is connected and known to be working... so is the picture in the above post the amplifier? How could the window on my old car work when this was broken?

repair or not repair
Tyres, bushes and arguably brake lines are just wear and tear - you need to decide whether the welding indicates the beginning of the end... where's the welding needed? If you don't get it fixed 100% you are just delaying the inevitable... if you can, get it up on a ramp and look EVERYWHERE - and be realistic and detached!!

Seires 1/2 Door Wiring
Well... looks like it might not be such a silly question... on the original car, half of the attached picture is just hanging in the door - so I'm guessing it's been bypassed or something?? The amplifier itself is attached though. Wht is the picture of - it's listed as the amplifier, but clearly not!

Seires 1/2 Door Wiring
Hit another problem with the new shell... Swapped over the window switches from the Series 1 to the Series 2 along with the window actuator and the plugs matched so I assumed all would be good (windows were working in old shell) but there's a spare plug in the door - see pic - and the windows don't work. It got too late to get the multimeter out, but is there an extra component in the Series 2 door?? To complicate things, there is some 'extra' wiring which i assume is from a total closure alarm which I'll have to remove and put back as was, but can't see how it could affect anything as it's disconnected... so - can anyone identify what this plug goes to - it's at the bottom-rear of the driver's door... Thanks in advance! Rich

TD05 16g Torque Specs
I'm (finally!) going to get round to installing the above in the next month or so, but am struggling to find decent installation instructions - the Greddy manual is still half Japanese so I can't read any torque figures for bolts etc... anyone got any pointers - or is it just same as specified in the manual for standard ones?? Rich

Quick tapping question...
prob still the lifters - the noise is returning when the oil pressure drops at idle... change the oil a couple of times in quick succession - using either a diesel oil or a capful of atf fluid in with the first change... worked for me!

Help required - LWB Rollcage jig
Well I'm in the process of swapping bits from one to the other so there's no problem with cutting the dash in the old one to make templates/ experiment! Do you want to email me the details - richardmichaelstockton(at)googlemail(dot)com - I can give you a call about it tonight? Rich

Help required - LWB Rollcage jig
I have! Will have to trailer it there, but it's only in chester - no interior trim at the moment... are you having them made to follow interior panels or cut through?

Stung again
I installed one for my brother - you can get a motorised system to switch it between different satellites to pick up extra free channels... I wouldn't worry about adjusting the dish too much, i'd never installed one before and had it up and locked on in no time...
