  1. Hi mate, Kirbz hasn't been around for a while and most likely won't see your post. Unfortunately owing to data protection laws I can't pass you his details. However I can forward him a message to contact you. As you're not subbed you can't PM me..... ....however you can send me an e-mail to richardsmith@300zx.co.uk If you include your contact details too, I can ask him to get in touch with you directly. Cheers, Richard:cool2:
  2. Welcome to the club buddy! Richard:punk:
  3. Or Lynbrooks..... There have been plenty of insurance threads posted over the years; and all have yielded some pretty helpful advice! Give "search" a go and hopefully you'll find a few instant suggestions. Hope that helps, Richard:thumbup1:
  4. Many happy returns mate - have a good day!! Richard:sorcerer:
  5. Like all those additives - I reckon they are nothing more than snake oil.... ......sure they "might" work on occasion but if you have an underlying failed component then you're wasting your money and possibly causing more harm to the car in the long term. My advice, get a power steering specialist to take a look rather than pouring in some "miracle cure" Richard:chef:
  6. Welcome to the club Rob...... ......where did you buy it from mate - I swear I've seen it somewhere before.....? Richard:sorcerer:
  7. Nice work Stu! Glad you are Ok too mate.....:bow: Richard
  8. Excellent pics there Baz - and it looked the perfect day for it as well!!! Glad you had a great time there mate.... Richard:thumbup1:
  9. I hate to say it but you're dead right Allan....... Richard:wink:
  10. I'm sorry to say you might be right Daz.... .......I thought there would be much more interest TBH. I'm up for starting another thread with revised dates if enough people are up for going.....? Richard:cool2:
  11. Yup - yet another useful piece of advice from Jeff!! Richard:chef:
  12. Hmmm, mass waterfight.....? No; I doubt I'll be there. I'm 40 years old so I'll most likely be sitting at home with my pipe and slippers........:innocent: Richard:tt2:
  13. In line with some of the others..... ......I'd personally go for normal aluminium/silver alloy coloured wheels. They may me a bit ordinary but they definitely go well with any colour car. Richard:cool2:
  14. Nice one Si - have a good trip; I'm sure you'll have a great time mate!! And just what the Z needs too I'd say..... Richard:cool2:
  15. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=125 There you go buddy.... .....Bigh is your region's events organizer; check out this section for events and meeting in your area! And the biggest national event of the year is of course JAE in September - as per the details in my signature!! Hope that helps, Richard:thumbup1:
  16. Check out the events and meetings section for your area mate...... Richard:thumbup:
  17. A good question indeed mate - and one I will ask next time my SLK goes into MB for a service..... ......Incidentally, whilst PaulC is on here..... ......how do you do remove the old oil in your dealership mate? Richard:online2long:
  18. UK and JDM cars all have the same undersealing from the factory. So considering most ZXs are 16-20 years old they will require additional protection at this stage in their lives to prevent rusting; whether UK or JDM. So if you do have a clean and fairly rust free car - best keep it that way! I have a clean Uk spec as well, so whilst my car was at Jeff's last week, I asked him to underseal it for me. Well worth the £65 I'd say!! Richard:chef:
  19. LOL - but I still would not let them jack a ZX unless I was watching. Ther're bound to do it under the sills and bugger them up......:hammer: Flippin' 'eck - I never knew that!.....:scared: I'd always want it drained - after the engine has been warmed up fully - to ensure all the old oil and crap is flushed out! Next time one of my cars goes in for a service I'll be asking the question (except with the Z - I can't see Jeff doing that!!). Oh, and one more warning about using an outfit like Nationals; I doubt they'd use an OEM Nissan oil filter! That's also bad news for a ZX.......:hang: Richard:cool3:
  20. That sure is cheap.... ....but I wouldn't let a National Tyres guy near my car!! I have a fleet account with them and from my experience, tasks like wheel balancing and tracking adjustments tax a few of their operatives. And that's just on some simple vans and a few VW cars!! Plus I took the Rav-4 to them for a front wheel allignment and they took 5 attempts but still couldn't get the steering wheel straight. ATS did it in 5 minutes!! Richard:oops:
  21. Ooh, that's interesting! My blue Z is a 1994 L reg; I didn't think it might possibly be R143a when I asked JeffTT to sort it for me. Maybe that explains why the later model cars have a different compressor; as Jeff advised me it did when I booked it in for a new one!! I'l have to look into that..... ......but in any case; (a big) thanks to Jeff the a/c is working perfectly! Driving back from Winchester on Sunday in almost 30 degrees of heat and the car was like a fridge inside. Lovely!!! Richard:biggrin:
  22. Yeah; like he said. Nothing out of the ordinary...... Richard:clap:
  23. You've heard wrong there mate!! The new Goodyear Asymetric F1 has notched up some superb reviews; in fact, in stringent magazine tests the top two tyres by miles are the new Goodyears and the Conti Sport Contact 3. I have the Goodyears on my Z and ther are awesome!! Although not cheap, I can't put a price on safety... One tester, after putting the goodyears on a Merc C-class 350, compared it to "putting turbos on the car" for the improved lap time he got with them on; and grip in the wet is just excellent. A necessity in a 300zx... Richard:thumbup1:
  24. Nice one Pete......!! And up that mileage mate - I just increased mine from 3k to 5k p/a and it was only £30 extra..... Richard:rockon:
