  3. I agree mate! An A1 low mileage UK spec manual will, providing it stays unmolested, always command a premium...... ......Once all the crap examples have either rusted away or been driven into trees - and the prices start to go up as the Z32 becomes a more sought after classic - this sort of example will always be worth the money. Lovely car!! Richard:thumbup1:
  4. LOL - that's just nasty!! So true......:boat: Richard:sorcerer:
  5. I agree there Si...... The voice of experience...... .....ignore those words at your peril I'd reckon! Richard:cool2:
  6. Nice one Damo.... ....congratulations on becoming a fully fledged member mate!! Richard:chef:

Wow - I'm glad we got in early!! This definitely looks set to be a great show.....!! Richard:cool2:
  8. I'm not sure there - the Ferrari is no slouch and (most probably) lighter.... ....but yes; there's nothing like the sound of a V8  Richard:devil2:
  9. I actually saw one on the road on Sunday heading out of Lymington (by the roundabout near the railway bridge) as I was heading in.... ......having seen it in the flesh I have to say I'm VERY impressed!! 6 numbers tomorrow and I'm having one...... Richard:punk:
  10. LOL - now I know why I have mine done at the barbers....!! Richard:biggrin:

  17. LOL - yes you are mate!! Each presenter has their good and annoying sides. But together they compliment one and other - the series simply would not be the same without either of them now. Clarkson, May and Hammond are a winning combination - the BBC risk everything by changing it now. Leave it alone!!! Richard:cool2:
  18. Nice cars IMO - forerunner to the F355; the last "traditional" Ferrari..... ....Other than the maintenance costs I can't see any downside to owning one! Richard:cool2:
  19. Hey Mikey!! Happy birthday mate - I hope you have a great day....:happybday: Richard:happybday:
  20. Hi mate, my opinion for what it's worth...... ......buy one of what you have described as "an old man's motor" but keep the Z anyway. For what you'll get selling it at the moment, it's not worth it - you're better off hanging on to the car just for fun! I've looked at the new XK8 (XKR variant) and I'm very impressed with it! The old shape XK was disappointing when I drove one but the latest car is just superb!! I'd be happy with that (alongside the Z); although replacing those 285/35/20 (IIRC) Pirellis on the back twice a year doesn't appeal much...... The Massa is also lovely but I'd give the Bently a miss - too "footballer" for my taste. Otherwise I'd consider an E-class AMG (if I was your age :tt2:) or an Aston Vantage.... Richard:thumbup1:
  21. Very nice Daz...... But (before Si gets here) couldn't they have supplied the rear lights in 99-spec.......:whistling: Richard:cool3:
  22. Very nice - and I really love that colour too!! Richard:cool3:
  23. Now I could be wrong here as well...... ......but if you have a J-spec car, then there is indeed an upgrade. But my understanding is that you buy the UK spec engine oil cooler and plumb in as necessary; then use the existing J-spec (smaller) engine oil cooler as the new auto gear box oil cooler. Like I said - just my own recollection; I may have got that wrong.... Richard:huh:
  24. Hi Mike, Good to see you're still around mate!! I hope everything works out for you buddy - and don't be a stranger!! Richard:flowers:
  25. Hi Anthony, I'm not a dog person; although I do appreciate just how much a beloved pet can become part of the family. And how a pet's demise can have such a detrimental effect on everyone in the family. I'm sorry for your loss mate; and I hope your meeting with the boss isn't too heavy. Hopefully he'll understand. As an employer myself I have been in similar situations to your boss; so all I can offer is the following advice: Bosses don't always see the whole picture until they come face to face in a frank discussion with their staff. Show how upset you are without getting angry; and offer to take the day as holiday (or even unpaid leave - although you are always entitled to utilize your holiday allowance). Appologize for leaving the company short staffed etc etc. Then, as I have done in the past, he should appreciate your feelings and excercise whatever discrection is necessary. I doubt he'll get mad at you - my guess is that he was just annoyed at the time; through a lack of understanding the depth of your feelings, for what he thought was "just a dog." Let's not forget he chose to inform you by text rather than a (more personal) phone call - I would always phone..... I hope everything works out for you in the end mate - good luck and best wishes, Richard
