  1. Neither would I...... ......but it's your engine!! Richard:no:
  2. LOL - a little too much info Allan........ But taking on board what you have just said, I have the following nuggets of advice to offer....... 1. Make sure you stick to natural fabrics; linen or wool. Nothing man made - too sweaty and uncomfortable!! 2. When sticking to number 1 above, make sure the trousers are lined around the "underpant area" - preferably with nice non-itchy cotton!! This prevents chaffing........:sweatdrop: If you get no joy in Tesco, Asda etc; then give M&S a look. You'll find nicer quality and the price tag still shouldn't be too hefty! And as for colour, I'd go for a charcol grey rather than black - black suits still remind me of the "pox doctor's clerk's" comment in an old Steptoe & son...... Richard:cool2:
  3. That's good news mate!! Another ZX saved from a premature extinction is always a cause to celebrate!! Richard:cool3:
  4. Many happy returns mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  5. A belated happy birthday mate! Richard:thumbup:
  6. Happy belated birthday mate! Richard:whistling:
  7. That's pretty much what I think too.........:whistling: If I bought a ZX with them already on, I would not be in any great hurry to change them as they can look OK on the Z32. I wouldn't go out and buy a set though..... Richard:cool3:
  8. Personally I wouldn't bother - they don't make economic sense for a rear tyre eating monster like a ZX. Just invest in a decent set of tyres in the first place - no budget brands! Plus if you're running 18s then the profile is so low anyway that a puncture or blow-out is not going to have a detrimental effect on the car's stability; as it's not too far to "fall." I had a rear tyre blow on my red ZX whilst lane changing at over 80mph (that was a 255/40/17) and it did not upset the car's poise. Sure I knew something was wrong but it wasn't a brown pants moment and I easily steered/slowed the car to safety. Richard:biggrin:
  9. Coolio... ....Cheers matey! I should be getting there around 11-11.30ish (dependent on train connections etc). I'd like to see your car again! I'll PM you my number.... Richard:thumbup1:
  10. Great advice from someone who really knows their Mercs! Nice one Paul..... ......Aso for Mobilo Life; doesn't it get reinstated with the next main dealer service - or is that just the later cars? I seem to remember something about that on the MB owners' forums...... Richard:thumbup1:
  11. If money was no object I'd definitely have a Veyron - As Jeremy Clarkson once said, it's a one off that will probably never be repeated. Sure, there are one or two other 250mph cars around now but they are more like stripped out racing cars. The Veyron also has the refinements of a GT car like a/c, a hi-fi etc etc; making it quite a nice place to sit if you want to blat across a continent in a few hours! Richard:thumbup1:
  12. Welcome to the club! Richard:thumbup1:
  13. Welcome to the club - that looks a tidy car...... ......and I concur re the nice alloys....... Richard:thumbup1:
  14. Good news Damo - and great work again Zedworld!! And thanks for the comment re my Z....... I should be collecting it Saturday if you're about.....! Richard:cool2:
  15. Whatever one thinks or Ferrari, McLaren etc etc; this is just wrong, unsporting and not in the spirit of the race. If one driver is ahead and his team mate it behind, then it should simply be down the drivers' individual skills to take the race as necessary - not the the team bosses to instruct the leading driver to let the other pass. Like I said - I don't care which team it is; leave the driving to the drivers to decide who's best and not whom the team would prefer to win. Richard:angry:
  16. I'd prefer to get on Cameron Diaz.......:tt2:
  17. Looks a tidy car there Anthony...... .....as for the radio, I believe you can still buy the band expanders. However decent head units don't cost much nowadays anyway so I'd just get a new one! I recently bought a JVC CD unit with built in Bluetooth for hands free phone use for £165...... Richard:cool3:
  18. Yup - it was good. And that Veyron was just awesome - I mean 0-100mph in 4.5:rockon: I agree that it can get a bit silly at times; but in all honesty it's still just about the best entertainment that the BBC can muster up. Anything else is a waste of licence payers' money IMO........ Richard:thumbup1:
  19. Yup - same from me. He certainly brightened up the professional snooker circuit back in the day! Richard:cry:
  20. Hi Damo, I don't know what kind of upgrade you're looking for; but for a mild upgrade from stock, you could do a lot worse than go for JeffTT's drilled/grooved discs with Mintex pads. IIRC it's about £280 + VAT fitted and I'm pretty impressed with the results! Richard:cool2:
  21. Lucky fella!!! Richard:cool3:
  22. Hi Rich, Just to clarify here..... ......you first posted about getting flashed on 26 June and today you talk about receiving the letter. Almost 1 month later - and there is the point! The police have 2 weeks to issue the NIP; even with reasonable time in the post 4 weeks is too late. Check the date the NIP was issued (not the offence date) too - if it was ISSUED more than 2 weeks after the offence you can get it cancelled right away; as there is no need to prove postal delays etc. I have done this 3 times for employees who have gotten caught in company cars and it has worked. Yes, you get a sarcy letter back saying you were still breaking the law and you are lucky etc etc but the final bit says something like "we reluctantly agree to cancel the penalty notice on this occasion!" Richard:cool3:
  23. Well if you do consider a Vectra you could do worse than check out this thread...... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1404306&postcount=1 All going to a good cause as well...... Richard:cool3:
  24. No worries Baz! I've run various Passats in my company fleet; when I replaced the 1.8 turbo petrol cars with the 2.0 TDi 130bhp all the drivers preferred the performance of the diesels! Of course all our fleet cars are diesels nowadays but the old shape Passat TDi (with the 130bhp engine) is still a good buy - especially in HiLine spec with leather etc etc... .....and if you can stretch to the Audi A4 you get a nice quality car for not much cash. Although the Passat is not very far behind! Richard:cool3:
