  1. Exacly mate...... Yup - and some of that can be quite hard driving too! It's what the ZX was built for after all..... ......Once you've done a couple of long trips and gotten used to the car you soon build up your confidence in it. I trust my ZX so I don't think of leaving the daily driver behind for a week's holiday! Richard:cool2:
  2. Nice one! But don't seem so amazed buddy - despite the horror stories the 300zx is not unreliable.... ......I regularly use mine for holidays where I may cover 1500 miles in a week with no hiccups; no fluid losses etc etc.... Richard:thumbup:
  3. Same as I said to Dave.... .....congrats on the sale but I'm sorry you had to let it go! Do stick around on the forum though mate - just because you don't have a Z it doesn't mean you can't visit!! Richard:chef:
  4. Congratulations to you both mate! Richard:thumbup1:
  5. I've also heard good things about the K&N, along with the Wix item.... .....Other than that, just stick with the OEM one as I wouldn't trust any other pattern copy! Richard:chef:
  6. Nice one Vinz.... .....I look forward to the seeing the pictures! Richard:cool2:
  7. Why, thank YOU sir!! Richard:tt2:
  8. Cool - can do indeed David!! I'm always willing to meet a fellow Zedder and pass on what (albeit limited:oops:) knowledge I have on these beasts! Drop me a PM and let me know when you're around mate. Look forward to hearing from you! Richard:chef:
  9. Could just be down to that one petrol station - maybe the fuel got contaminated in the storage tanks? It wouldn't be the first time.... Richard:mellow:
  10. So, you want to spend £12k and you've just gotten rid of a 350z.....? Trickey.... RX8? - no; the 350 is better.... Scooby/Evo - no; common as pigeon poo and nothing special IMO Porsche - no; you'd not get one good/new enough for £12k So that leaves the other German suspects - BMW/Merc/Audi..... maybe - but again IMO nothing good is new enough at £12k... How about a Vauxhall Monaro? V8 power and quite rare; you can buy a nice 2006 example for less than £12k....! Richard:cool3:
  11. Wow, that sounds interesting Steve! I hope you all enjoy it - I know I would... Unfortunately I can't make this one either - but have a good one, all who attend! Richard:chef:
  12. Looking good...... ......and I have to agree:biggrin:!! A belated welcome to the club by the way mate! Richard:thumbup1:
  13. Cheers Alan! I have to agree mate - even with the 118 mile drive each way it's worth it for the peace of mind that they know what they are doing!! And I'm soooo glad I have the a/c working again - it's just too hot to be without it at the mo:biggrin: Richard:thumbup1:
  14. Maybe their "fuelsave" unleaded is inferior to their previous regular unleaded..... .......I reckon you've just given us all a heads up on what not to buy mate! Richard:cool2:
  15. Nice one Alan! Richard:cool3:
  16. Damn - I was in the Midlands today as well..... But many happy returns Steve - I hope you had a great day!! Richard:thumbup:
  17. As above!! Once again Jeff and Jamie have done good. I collected my car today and, as usual, am very pleased! I had the a/c compressor replaced 5-6 weeks back but sadly one of the a/c pipes sprang a leak a couple of weeks later. So another trip to Zedworld was needed; and Jamie cut out the bad section and fabricated a new bit for me, then had it regassed (again!).... Plus I thought I'd have the auto box oil changed and the tension rod bushes replaced whilst it was there. Well the a/c is so good that even set at 21 degrees on the way home I was too cold (and I'm not one to feel the cold - I wear short sleeves in winter FFS!). The steering felt more precise and the A/T seemed to change smoother than before..... Thanks guys - and thanks Lynda for the tea and toast!!! Oh, and thanks for the spare targa panel too - when I got home I switched the interior trim from my existing one, gave the new one a clean and polish, and it's spot on. Cheers!! Finally (and by no means least) thanks to DamoJ for meeting me at Tamworth station! Cheers buddy - it was good to see you again; and your ZX is a fine example! Richard:thumbup:
  18. Yup - Mike's a top guy alright! Glad you got your Z sorted. Richard:thumbup:
  19. Congratulations on the sale Dave... ....and comiserations on parting with Eliza. I'm sure you've done the right thing and are happy she has gone to a good home. You can always get another later on mate! Richard:sorcerer:
  20. Good to meet you today Rob..... .....and I hope you get your car sorted mate!! And don't worry about being a quiet person; sometimes it's best to listen - after all that's why we have two ears and only one mouth. (At least that's what I try and tell my wife, but she just won't listen........) Richard:)
  21. I have to agree. And it's definitely better the devil you know; so if you have a good ZX at the mo and want to stick with a slick shortie, then go for the conversion. Richard:biggrin:
  22. Looking good Baz..... ......but I must be weird because I still like the UK spec rear bumper!! Richard:blushing:
  23. Yes mate - both 21 inches! It's not a daft question buddy; loads of cars have odd differing sized front wipers........! Richard:thumbup:
  24. Don't do the fogs mate! HIDs give off a very bright, white, light - which is no good in fog or driving rain since the fog reflects the light back at you! Stick with the normal halogen fog lamps as you'll find it best to drive with sides and fogs in the fog. In fact I'd go for the Osram "all weather" fog lamp bulbs - they come with a slight yellow glow to shine through/under the fog..... As for wipers, I know the fronts are 21 inches. Not sure about the rear (although 19 inches sounds familiar....). Richard:cool2:
