My little stereo downgrade and subsiquent upgrade! (Ongoing)
Hey Si, I have one in "as new" condition - I bought it new myself about 5-6 years ago and it has seen very little use..... Plus I'm also pretty anal about looking after my things:wink: I was planning on keeping it, just in case I ever decided to return to the 1-DIN set up too, so I'm undecided about selling it. If you have trouble finding one to meet your standards, I might let it go to a good home.... After all, I'd probably only put it back now, if I ever sold the Zed! Richard:cool:

What did you do to your zed today?
I took mine into High Wycombe on my Saturday morning Sainsbury's run..... ......And then stopped off at Hughenden Manor to take a few pictures of my Zed in Autumn's glory..... I thought it would serve to kick off our latest competition: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?186101-Autumn-2016-zx-photo-competition-entries Richard:thumbup:

OEM+ Auto Shifter
So true Chris.... As good a car as the Supra is, the exterior has aged very badly compared to some (ahem) sports coupes from the 1990s... But the interior - what was Toyota thinking??? It was, is and always will be hideous. Your picture proves the point....!!!

OEM+ Auto Shifter
LOL - but yes..... ....I do like the OP's shortened effort though - much more aligned to the car IMO. Do that with the leather shifter, and it will look just fine....

Swapping everything from one car to another
My opinion...... .....Either get it fixed or get rid. If you can't get it fixed, then get rid. Buy yourself a decent, sound and complete car - then just swap out the best bits from your old one and scrap what's left.... Sorry if that sounds harsh, but swapping a shell just doesn't sound economically viable to me Lee.... Good luck mate - whatever you decide! Richard:clover:

What did you do to your zed today?
So true Gary! I used mine all over the weekend - after a 4 week break - and it felt great blasting along in the autumn sunshine:cool: From a quick trip to Beaconsfield early Saturday morning, followed by a visit to the RHS Wisley Gardens on Sunday, the Zed was performing well. Made me realise just how much I'd missed it.....

Happy Birthday Ceejay

Fitting tyres yourself, by hand - Advice please
And yes - it's not ultimately the wheels, more like the tyres that need the balance. For starters, there's a hole in the metal rim where the rubber valve has to poke through. Instant weight difference on that area of the wheel. Secondly new tyres will never have perfect weight distribution all round; owing to how the tread is applied in the manufacturing process.

Fitting tyres yourself, by hand - Advice please
Yup - as above..... It's pointless - just have a tyre fitter do it for you. It will take minutes - and they will balance the wheels within their price. If you try it yourself, you'll still pay at least £10 per wheel, after you're done fitting the tyre, so you might as well have had them fitted!

Rear spoiler options
I have to agree - that is the only improvement in the original 1989-spec.... Otherwise, for a SWB, you can get away without a spoiler; but for a LWB, then it's stock 1989 or stock 1999 spec for me.

personal reg rules?
Not sure Ali - and will of course see for sure when you have checked - but I believed that imports merely had the concession of not having to abide by the standard number plate (or font) sizes; if, and only if, a standard sized UK-legal 'plate could not fit on the car.

Thanks Sudesh - and I'll check out the paint code for you when I get a moment!

personal reg rules?
I know I'm a fine one to talk - since I have 3 myself - but I am inclined to agree with Steve. Unless you keep it simple, eg like having you initials, then don't bother trying to spell words or the like. They look stupid and will only get you pulled by the police for mis-representing the letters. That bloody registration number seller - Reg-Transfers - always makes me laugh. They have a selection of "names" available; but most of them are so tenuous, that no-one would ever guess what they are supposed to say. In fact, their own adverts say it all - since they have to spell out the name next to the reg number for sale, just because the characters look nothing like the name they are supposed to represent...
