New tracks on-line
Cheers Vini ;) The vocalist is...er...me. And so are the guitars. And the bass. Er...and the drums...well kinda everything really...;) I'm strictly a solo act in the studio but live I have a band of friends, ex-band mates from old projects and a couple of random muso's. We'll be gigging in anger once the album is finished around late Jan/early Feb time. Great to hear you like the tracks though. Any kind of response, whether it's good or bad is a step forward. Spread the word ;) :D

New tracks on-line
If anyone's interested in listening to the new "This Burning Age" tracks, they're now online: http://www.myspace.com/thisburningage Been approached by, and currently in talks with, fledgling indie/alt label Western Heretic Records, which could prove interesting. Friday.

F.A.O Friday
Sorry for the delayed reply mate, stayed over at the studio. If you're definately taking a mould, use anything you like to bridge gaps to form the shape between the two bumpers, as long as you can get a good, smooth finish and it'll stand being picked up/moved about. Although I like working with fibreglass I find it a bit tiresome to use it to shape things. Using extruded polystyrene blocks is a good material to sculpt in, but being a bit old school, I've just devised a method involving clay to sculpt the plug followed by a combination of latex and mod-roc/plaster as a brace, then making the copy out of a homemade ABS/MEK solution. End result will hopefully be a copy that is essentially one piece of plastic which will not only have a good degree of flex, be far stronger than fibreglass and be easily repairable if the worst happens. That's the theory anyway. I'll be testing it once I finally have my heated garage/workshop at the end of January! Good luck with it Steve :)

F.A.O Friday
Hmmm...all depends on how much you'd need to chop out (or extend) one or t'other. To be honest, if you're just going to use the bonded bumpers to make a mould, they don't have to be structurally sound, only good enough to get a decent shape. Is it a stock 350Z bumper onto a stock Z32 you're talking about chap?

Simply the best I've ever seen tbh.

Plenum Chroming
TBH I'd go for polishing over chroming every time. The conditions of an engine bay aren't forgiving on chrome. If it flakes, it's plenum off and a re-chrome. If you nick a polished plenum you stand a chance of being able to sort it in situ. I've been able to achieve the same standard of shine from polishing. Here's a link to one of the ones I did a while back: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=84852

Cheap multi spoke alloys: options?
Cheers guys :) Mario: you have a point there! Er...anything around the £450 - £650 mark for 18's, fitted with decent tyres would be good. Anything cheaper is a bonus!

Cheap multi spoke alloys: options?
After a set of cheap-ish multi spoke (BBS-a-like, Vortex and similar) alloys for my other half's new Z. Just wondering what people would recommend. I did a LOT of alloy wheel research a few years ago but I'm a bit out of touch on what's now available. I know a few people have bought off Ebay and I was also wondering how they've got on with the alloys? Price is a major issue so unfortunately any mention of Works, Image and the like will have to go unheeded... :( 17" would be good, 18" would be better, 19" would be too much ;) Any width would also be good but a staggered fitment: front 8.5, rear 9.5 would be ideal but again it's the cost that's going to lead the decision I'm afraid. Any suggestions/photos appreciated.

I'll be honest Chris, I know it's a show car and in a different category....but I still think it's gash! :D ;) Honestly mate, I've seen much better airbrush paint jobs and better interiors. I really, really don't like it...and this is from someone who does appreciate show-cars! As Mark said on the thread, it's a fecking abortion! :D ;)

anyone in london
Hi chap. Sorry to barge in on your thread but could you drop me a line on friday76@lycos.com as there's an unrelated matter I'd like to speak to you about! :) Cheers, Leigh.

Not keen on the other one you posted Chris but this one is absolutely perfect. Really like the little touches like the colour coded headlight inners. Got any more photos of it mate?

Ditto the some of the above unfortunately. I'm hoping actually being able to drive a Z again now we've got our new NA will kickstart my enthusiasm for the club scene but after a few run ins with some people on here in the "upper echelons" and after learning a few other bits and pieces, along with Christmas on the horizon and being skint I've decided not to resubscribe for the moment.

Disappearing Car Door
And in more detail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liHkY1_muSo It's probably heavy, buggers up the handling and reduces your performance. And I want one now. :D

Guilty Pleasure, Cars you love and don't want to admit...
Why on earth would you feel guilty for liking the Citroen D-S?? Truely one of the most beautiful cars in the world and, bizarrely, the product I chose for the design part of my Fine Art and Design MA. Did you know it was given the name "Déesse", French for "Goddess" (hence the initials...which work rather better than the lamentably named MR2 in the French market...;) ) because of the way it seemed to float due to it's revolutionary hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension. Plus you didn't need a jack to change the wheel as the suspension did the work alongside the use of a special support stand. Nifty. I would gladly kill for a Black DS "Pallas" Edition! *sigh*

Rear valance to suit single exit exhaust
Wow. I must've missed that conclusive, world wide poll where 8 out of 10 Z owners, who expressed a preference, chose a twin over a single exit. Guess I'm just not as on the ball as I used to be....damn....looks like it's a gin soaked decline, the eventual shunning of polite society and a brief spell in a Swiss euthanasia clinic for me then. :p ;)

New Z!
Cheers matey! I'd forgotten what driving a Z felt like TBH...seeing one that actually moves without having to push it is bloody weird I tells ya! Lol! :D ;) Long time no speak btw, hope things are good with you and yours! :)

New Z!
Pete, that's seriously good to know, thanks chap! I'll go through the usual suspects of coilpack, PTU and injector connections then when JD comes over, run a compression test...while keeping fingers and toes firmly crossed! I hope it's not anything major as with the wedding on the horizon, funds are melting away quicker than a chocolate teapot but if it's got to be a new engine then, as an evil emperor once said, so be it Jedi...;)

New Z!
Cheers Pete, we'll try our best to look after the old girl and see if we can't get her "slight cough" taken care of! ;)

New Z!
Cheers mate! :D Stu's doing a great job! Last time we spoke he sent me 3 site samples which all looked damn good. This week I'm trying to finalise the graphics/artwork and photography that we'll be using so he can work his coding trickery and incorporate them. I think it's turning into a win-win scenario for both of us as hopefully he'll end up with an addition to his portfolio that will showcase his talents and hopefully secure him good business in the future and I'll have a site that's eye-catching, professional and importantly, enables people to hear my music which is what it's all about! Big thanks to you for putting us in touch matey, I definately owe you a :duffer: sometime! (not to mention a thank you in the album sleeve notes! :D ;))
