  1. Our new NA arrived this afternoon and boy is she a beauty. The bodywork and interior is in even better condition than my own Z when I originally brought her over and she was an Exterior Grade 4.5 and Interior Grade B! The only exception is the rear spoiler which, like every other Z32 on the planet, has suffered from cracking due to the foam core/water problem, so I'll be taking that off in the Spring, filling the holes and getting her rear-end colour matched and the rest of the paintwork mopped to bring it up as good as new ready for Summer. The only serious problem that needs to be addressed is the misfire, but hopefully, with a bit of luck she'll be running right as rain soon. Fingers well and truly crossed of course ;) She also came to us with a few of the more obvious upgrades taken care of : Apexi filter, JD ECU and an aftermarket twin exit exhaust system that, on an NA, sounds absolutely gorgeous. There's also a few nice touches such as the cleared side repeaters and aftermarket headunit and speakers. All in all, she's a great, OEM look Z, and aside from a new set of shoes sometime next year, that's how she's going to stay (honest, lol! ;)) All in all we're chuffed to bits...particularly Lucie who's car it essentially is now ;) Her insurance is going to be a bit of a killer due to age and lack of driving experience but with the Landy now up for sale ( *sob*...I love my truck! :( ) we'll hopefully soon have enough to be able to afford it! I have to say a big thank you to petey099. Great seller and a pleasure to deal with throughout...cheers mate if you're reading this...and if it does turn out to be a coilpack, I'll give you fair warning on my post beforehand so you can look away! :D ;) I also have to say another big thank you to Stevie007 for putting me in touch with perhaps one of the best car transporter guys I've ever used. If anyone ever needs their pride and joy moving, give Gary a call and you'll have the peace of mind in knowing that it's being moved by a professional who not only knows what he's doing but, unlike most cowboy firms, cares about the cars he's transporting. Here's his Ebay advert: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAR-PICKUP-TRANSPORT-DELIVERY-COLLECTION-RECOVERY_W0QQitemZ120183815300QQihZ002QQcategoryZ317QQcmdZViewItem To be absolutely honest, I now wouldn't use anyone else (in fact, John and I are hoping to use him again to move John's Z back to Kidderminster just while my garage and workshop has a refurb). To say we're excited with our new Z is an understatement! :D
  2. You poor deluded fool Si...:D ;) But seriously, I've NEVER heard a twin TT system that sounded better than the single exit system I used to run (which now belongs to another member on here as I couldn't use it with the V8 :( )...and that's the God's honest truth. Pics of the bumper in it's unpainted state are on my old for sale thread here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=100648
  3. Yep I did, and yep it got snapped up! I had the same problem which is why I reshaped the existing right hand opening and did away with the one on the left. Looked a helluva lot better for it.
  4. Glad you like it chap! :) Yep, it's being built as we speak through a friend of a member on here as it happens. It would be going nowhere without your hosting though mate, it's still much appreciated! :D
  5. For those interested: ditched the old name and now have a new site: http://www.myspace.com/thisburningage Aside from the tunes on the player, there's live music vids of Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Ian Brown and Biffy Clyro in the blog. Plus a relatively amusing story involving Biffy Clyro's Dad and the quest for tickets. All of which is true, bizarrely. Check it out if you have the time.
  6. Mark, bizarre I know, but any chance you could get hold of a photo of one (or a few) of his pieces? Would be interested to see the level of detail involved! :) On a side note, I used to play Warhammer and other RPG's up the age of about 14 and yes, I did collect the figures as well! [rose tinted spectacles] Still remember buying issue 1,2 and 3 of Steve Jacksons Warlock Magazine, I imagine they're worth a bit now...not to mention avidly buying his "Fighting Fantasy" RPG books...[/rose tinted spectacles]
  7. ...and this one actually has an engine in it...er...albeit one that is "slightly" poorly. Despite it being a crackin' motor, and although I'd just bought a 200Tdi engine and ALL the bits to swap it in (can you sense an undercurrent of exasperation here? Lol!) my other half just wasn't getting on with our Land Rover 90. The plain and simple fact is she's just too little for a Landy and it was a bit on the difficult side for her to drive. I can't moan though as she's just bought me the mother of all presents ( http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=103596 ). So knowing how much she loves Z's I've just bought petey099's NA for us (mainly her TBH). All being well it should be delivered on a flatbed on Monday. It's got a misfire but fingers crossed we'll be able to iron it out. It'll be weird being behind the wheel of a Z again...and if the V8's are anything to go by, who knows, in 10 or so years time we might even have it fixed and on the road! :D ;)
  8. Pete, if you're reading this mate, give me a bell as soon as you can (haven't got your number so can't call myself!). Sent you an email last night but there's some stuff that needs sorting today else it'll be too late... :( Will explain when I speak to you. Cheers, Leigh.
  9. Stevie007: I sent your chap an email regarding transporting the car but got an automated message back saying he's away on holiday so looks like he might have to be ruled out :(
  10. Now that's weird. I put a post up in reply to this thread the other night and it's disappeared...:( Anyway, let's try again. Mark: Lucie turned red when she read that and blew you a kiss...thank Christ she didn't ask me to pass it on! Lol! :D ;) Yep, guess it's an art school/generation thing...mind you, they'd only just invented the wheel back when you were a lad so the tattooing technology must've been pretty poor... :D ;) Wendy (and Rob!) and Tim: cheers guys! :D :D
  11. Cheers Steve, that's brilliant, will send him an email this weekend :) BTW, on another note, sorry I haven't been in touch about the spray gun! Things have been a bit up in the air about what I'm doing with the Landy...at the moment it looks like she might be up for sale pretty soon "as is". Which should make a nice project car for someone since it also comes with a complete 200Tdi Disco engine, Steve Parker downpipe conversion kit, custom made stainless snorkel etc etc...essentially everything I slaved to get together for the swap...would be nice to find a car that my better half likes to drive! :( ;)
  12. Cheers mate, would be muchos appreciated! :)
  13. Resurrecting this thread as I might be in need of a transporter should a sale of a Z I'm looking at come off. Unfortunately at the moment it seems the high price of having a car picked up and delivered might rule out the sale...one quote was £360!! Anyway, I'm ideally looking for a firm based in either Birmingham or Norwich as pick up would be in Norwich and drop off would be, suprise, suprise, in Birmingham (Solihull). If anyone knows or can recommend a firm that would be great (I'm going to be ringing Jeff on Monday to see what firm he uses ;)) Cheers, Leigh.
  14. Cheers Diane! Yep, I'm over the moon about the wedding...not to mention the forthcoming ink! :D Hell yeah, there's nothing sexier than a woman with good tats....and yes I did say tats you grubby lot :nono: ;) I give you Exhibit A m'lud:
  15. Damn Nick, I know things were tough before but sorry to hear that. just good to also hear you're moving on and not letting it drag you under. Good on you mate :) Really glad you like it chap! Since you're a pro designer that means a lot! :D I'm busy working on another animation at the mo and though it's starting to look good it's driving me up the wall. Should be worth it when it's done mind :) Though I still have no idea how to sync the audio I'm doing for it over it! Bugger. ;)
  16. Cheers guys! I was on t'interweb till the wee small hours going through pin-up archives to try and settle on either one or a couple I could use to composite an image...still psyched about it! Although I appreciate the body "unadorned" I have to say that good ink does it for me on a woman. Though being a bit of an arty-farty, chin stroking muso type I tend to associate with more people in alt circles where ink and piercings are more the norm rather than the exception! Lol@Maaaaark! :D ;) I was thinking less Cantona and more Pierre-White with your food-based imagery! :D Cheers for the congrats on the other thing as well guys (oh yeah...there's a wedding as well....! :D ;)) I just sincerely hope I'm sat down with some sort of pillow on my lap when Kat's leaning over me...oh Christ...I'm in trouble aren't I? :D
  17. Staggered through the door after 10pm tonight as I usually do on a Wednesday after a day locked in the studio vocal booth to be greeted by my better half. What I haven't told people on here is that a) I recently got engaged and b) I'm now getting married next year...I have to mention this as it's sort of relevant! As a combo Christmas/Wedding/nextyearsbirthday present she tells me she's only taking us both to LA so I can get my next tattoo done by the queen of ink and all round sex goddess, Kat Von D! :hyper: I'm a massive fan of the whole retro-vamp thing ie Betty Page et al and as we're both fans of Miami Ink and now LA Ink, Kat would is the perfect choice for a black/white/grey, Vargas-esque (Google is your friend ;)) pin-up from elbow to shoulder on my right arm. She wouldn't have told me but we have to submit the art-work beforehand. Bless! I'm absolutely chuffed to bits! What a gal! (That's my better half rather than Kat...;)) :D
  18. Nick! Long time , no speak matey! :) Glad you likey :) It's taken me feckin ages to get the animation sorted but pretty pleased with it now. Just got to finish the other bit of animation that's going to go in the profile pic window. All fun and games  ;)
  19. False alarm. Apparently twas a glitch in the Real Editor system as after redoing it with another colour for the "boxed" areas then resetting it back to black, everything is now fine :) Nothing to see here. Move along now. ;)
  20. As above if any HTML guru's are online I have a seemingly small issue with the page I've created (using Real Editor) but for the life of me, after reading through the code I can't see where the problem lies (but then again, it's probably staring me in the face!). In Real Editor the "general" text appears red (#e51601 as it says in the code) but when you go to my page proper (http://www.myspace.com/thisburningage ...still unfinished btw ;)), it's black. And since the background is also black you can only see it when it's highlighted! Not being able to see where it's going wrong is driving me fecking nuts! Can anyone cast an eye over it? Can send it over or post it up, no problemo :) Would be muchos appreciated! :) Leigh.
  21. My eyes...my eyes...it burnnnnsssss...
  22. In a word...stressing! Lol! Perversely, it's in a good way though, as it's all music related. Been in the studio most of the week and about to head off there now when I can drag myself away from t'interweb! Pushing myself hard to get this album done and dusted...although I work well under pressure my body doesn't so I'm taking Friday night off to have a few drinks, take Frankie's advice and R-E-L-A-X...;) :) Hope you're keeping well yourself hun! :)
  23. Hope he's ok. One of the good guys on here :) Diane, if you get chance, mention to Nick that I'm still in need of a decent webdesigner if he's got more time on his hands now! And then watch him run a mile... :D ;)
  24. Just what I need! Cheers for the heads up mate, I'll be keeping a close watch on that one :D ;)
  25. Aaaaah... "My Chemical Toilet".... :D Only kidding ;) TBH, I'm not a fan but I have to admit I really liked "The Black Parade"...but that's about it unfortunately! :D
