stab in the dark guys.

I have a mate who is into the warhammer and nerdbowl games. he's hinted he would like to paint his modles with a air brush. Anyone any clue? I wasnt aware an air brush could be used on things so small.

one of my great uncles wrote a book on Airbrush technique back in the 80's he's passed on now, but his name was Cecil Misstear ...Might be of use?

yeah right, 'A Friend' lol.....

Its You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can violently say its now me. Have yoou seen these games. Honestly, un-be-fooking-leavable. I bought him some characters for his birthday, figured they would only be a few pounds. Yea right they where. £20 for one character and you have to paint it your self.

But you know, he's just been laid off, hes just split with his girlfriend, so I gues hes got a fair amount of time to paint them.

what gets me is how many people at my tennis club actualy play these games.

thanks tubz. loads of links to the book, but no info as yet.

I know a guy who I went to Art School with and he paints model figures for a living. He is loaded. Guys ring him up and say they want a roman army from a certain campain in 25mm How much. He orders the figures and paint them and makes a fortune. He recons hes earning £150K a year painting soldiers. + he only works 4 days a week or he gets head aches.

He paints warhammer army's as well (I think) Are the the ones that look like robots and aliens and sh1t.

Mark, bizarre I know, but any chance you could get hold of a photo of one (or a few) of his pieces? Would be interested to see the level of detail involved! :) On a side note, I used to play Warhammer and other RPG's up the age of about 14 and yes, I did collect the figures as well! [rose tinted spectacles] Still remember buying issue 1,2 and 3 of Steve Jacksons Warlock Magazine, I imagine they're worth a bit now...not to mention avidly buying his "Fighting Fantasy" RPG books...[/rose tinted spectacles]

WHen I was at Art School I used to play the Dungens and Dragons Roll playing games. They we good fun. We had a game that took 2 years.

I don't see Dave very often as he still lives in Barnsley. I only bumped into him by chance as I'd been over to get some Man U tickets of my neice. I hadn't seen him for years. Went and met his wife and had a coffee and a good old chin wag. He gave me his number but i didn't put it into my phone and have misplaced it.

I'll try and get of another lad I went to college with who lives back in Barnsley. However I would have thought you'll be able to get info and pics of his figures on the internet, because aparently he is famous in the painting toy soliers circles.

His Name is Dave Horne here is his Arty web page http://www.davidhorneart.co.uk

Shows how long ago it is since i saw him as he's moved.

My mate at work used to be a car sprayer but got fed up so he only sprays his models with an air brush this is one of his latest creations that took 3rd place in an internet comp I will get advice from him later tonight or in the morning
