  1. Cheers chap :) Always bowls me over when people say they like the stuff! :) Rehearsals are well under way now so we'll also be doing some live shows before too long. Plus, strangely, there may be a short film being made, with funding by the BBC, of us performing 3 songs off the album...will know more about whether that's a go-er in a couple of weeks...so all on the up and up! :) ;)
  2. You can when it's done! Working on the final track right now (about 75% done) then it's off to Mastering and a 1000 CD short run (as mentioned above, a very limited number of those are going to be with handmade album art). So, the album will eventually be available (thanks to the nice people at Ditto Music) both through i-Tunes and as a "hard-copy" CD. :)
  3. Let's try the first link again shall we? ;) : http://www.myspace.com/thisburningage
  4. If Brit-alt-rock-industrial-punk-D'n'B-"insert genre here"…with an electronica twist is your thing visit my page here: http://www.myspace.com/thisburningage We've also been on ReverbNation ( ) for the past couple of weeks and we're now at position 920 out of 10467 world-wide acts on their "Alternative Chart" (and not just unsigned acts, there's also the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Gnarls Barkley, Snow Patrol, The Fratellis etc etc on there) and we need help getting as far up the chart as we can. If you like the tunes play as many as you can on the player on the MySpace page. It's linked to ReverbNation and every play is registered and scores points towards the chart position. The same goes for the Fan Reach widget that's just above the Friend Space as you scroll down. Leave your email address (only made available to me and not third party spamming!) and don't forget to tick the "Street Team" box. These last two not only gain us big points but will also entitle you, as official "fans" to forthcoming merchandise offers, secret gigs and put you on the list for a chance to own one of the very limited edition handmade copies of the new album (each one is signed, dated and numbered). So you're not doing something for nothing ;) If you can stop by and show your support it would be much appreciated...we're gunning for the number one slot! :D ;) Cheers.
  5. I bent me paddle at the last one. I think carbon fibre's the way forward: light, aerodynamic and will leave a wonderfully engaging weave imprint on the buttocks. Allegedly.
  6. Afternoon Wendy m'dear! Lol@coffee tables!! :D ;) (Run Rob, run! ;))
  7. What kind of world do we live in when a man can't have a sado-masochistic sex-orgy with a bevy of high class hookers in a £2million riverside Chelsea apartment...? ;) Oh, and don't you just love the salacious reporting...? You can almost hear the hack salivating as he repeatedly regurgitates the "finer" details. Fascism: Never acceptable. S&M/hookers: No big deal. His choice. Christ, if Jaime Theakston can get strapped up and whipped in a Soho dungeon who can't these days. The depravity of the British Gutter Press: Alarming as usual.
  8. Great playing. :) But what is it with keyboardists being such God-damn primadonnas (er...not you I hasten to add ;))?? Currently auditioning keys players for the live show: http://www.myspace.com/thisburningage and I'd forgotten just how snooty and superior they can be (present company again excepted! ;)). The last guy made me want to insert my SG in a place Gibson would not wholly recommend. Meh.
  9. Cheers guys! :) Just sent you an email Ian! :D
  10. Alright matey, long time no speak. Went to send you an email today and found yours was one of the 50-odd that recently got deleted from my Lycos account :( If you can chuck it over again or send it to friday76@lycos.com that would be bonza! :)
  11. If you like orange there's a fair few good options out there...but i wouldn't do it myself. After seeing a few (I used to think it might work) I now think it looks terrible...cheap and overly ostentatious. Plus you get lumped in with the Lax Flower brigade. The best paint jobs are subtle but ooze quality...IMHO. ;)
  12. Yup, 'tis me chap! Sent you an email a while back but looks like you didn't get it! Er...you may want to sit down for this one... ... ... ... ...it was a dead injector. Had a good rummage and after testing the voltage and then confirming it with the old trick of screwdriver from ear to injector and listening for the "click" (or lack of one!) it was clear that this was the root cause all along. Managed to get a second hand fuel rail with working injectors already in (as they're a bugger to get out without breaking them) and spent a day freezing my butt off with my best mate taking the Plenum off and swapping them round but...she's now running on all 6 and sweet as a nut (albeit a little on the rich side as the O2 sensors need replacing!). I know it's good news for me but quite why the mechanic you had take a look at it missed it is beyond me :( She's got a new set of boots to go on (light weight Volks Racing 18's) and, bizarrely, I've just bought my old single exit exhaust back, so that'll be going on soon...which, on an NA, should make it sound like Armageddon has come early! ;) (Bizarrely, all down to the little lady as she insisted the exhaust "was nice, but not loud enough"! I've taught her well it seems! Lol! :D ) Sorry for going Off Topic Chris!
  13. Er...well I've got it and played it for 10mins during the beta test phase (after you mentioned it ages ago funnily enough!). Being a bit of a Luddite I'm not sure if the software I have will work any longer though now it's officially release...? It looked great though and I wouldn't mind shelling out for a copy tbh. I've never played MMORPG's before mind! ;)
  14. Funnily enough I was planning on doing just that on my day off today...;)
  15. Cheers both. Coopers: Although a lovely machine the price is prohibitive. I purchased a 500Gb Freecom external usb drive last month for £70 but I was still thinking going solid state might negate the problems inherent in traditional drive tech. Groover: Very, very interesting mate. A MD set-up is something I hadn't even considered. It takes potential HD problems out of the equation completely. Will definately look into this. Do you mind me asking how much they set you back? Hope you don't mind but I'll probably come back to you with a few questions in a while! ;)
  16. [i preface the following by saying my knowledge of computers is rudimentary to say the least and any system would be assembled by asking friends of mine very, very nicely since it's more than likely I would c0ck it up. Or start a fire. Or both] Ok. So I need to take a computer set-up on stage as there are a couple of songs that could really benefit from the original full orchestration programmed into Cubase (our drummer can play to click tracks thankfully). Although Macs appear to offer a more stable platform it's going to have to be a PC as it needs to be compatible with the studio's computer. So, I was thinking a stripped down, bare bones PC using a decent Dual Core processor, around 2Gb of RAM, a SATA drive, a workhorse graphics card, using our Fireface for sound and running nothing but XP, Cubase and any necessary audio software. But the worry of HD issues in a live environment still fills me with dread. And then I started thinking about Solid State/Compact Flash Drives... Although the mega Gb models are on the horizon, they're also going to cost mega bucks, and although prices are falling all the time (hell, I picked up an 8Gb flash usb key the other week for £30) money is tight. So...would it be feasible to buy say four 32Gb Compact Flash Cards, along with the appropriate connectors to link them to the PC and then use RAID to turn them into, for all intents and purposes, "one" drive (I think that's what RAID does, right?)? I'm thinking, faster data access and waaaay less chance of crashes or indeed failures caused by knocks/damage in transit. Also they're hot-swappable, and the system is future-proofed (to an extent) ie...a larger capacity or "better" card is released, so swap to that one. Or am I barking up the wrong tree? Cheers, Leigh.
  17. Aaaaand I'm back in the room (and bloody glad as well, it was -18 deg C over there at one point......-18!. AND I had to be up before 5am two days running. Up till then I thought there was only one 5 o'clock in the day...;) ) Great work chap! Lol @"tidied"...now, they weren't exactly a mess to start with...this is you we're talking about...obsessive compulsive doesn't begin to cover it...:p :D ;) Now I'm back I've only got to seal the garage floor and the new "workshop" will be fully functional. Itching to get stuck back in (the bodywork as much as the engine on mine...;)). Really nice to see a bigger photo of the clocks and fascia in situ as well. Meh. I have jet-lag from hell. Will call you tomorrow!
  18. Btt...Stenorth, if you're out there, if you can get in touch before 2pm tomorrow via email or anytime up till 11pm tomorrow via 07812189401 that would be great.,as I'm leaving for Chicago early Thursday morning! Nick: Leon copied the lionshare of the design of his Z32 single exit exhausts from my own system which was custom made elsewhere. But, being the craftsman that he is, he can tailor that design to your exact requirements e.g. John Dixon had one made up that was based on mine but with several changes. On his, the baffle was significantly reduced which produced a screamer of an exhaust note, a raspy, almost rally-esque sound at times. Fantastic and very hard-core, which was his requirement at the time. We're both having new systems from Leon for use with the V8's (unfortunately the single exits would be just too loud when coupled with the NA V8...something that's of particular concern to John as he's going to track his)
  19. LMAO! ... ... I was once stuck in a crease in the settee for 3 days. ... ... I don't like to talk about it. :wack:  :D
  20. Yup, that's what I'm worried about as I'm a skinny fecker with bVgger all meat on me bones! :D Maaaaark will attest to the fact that I could hide behind a drinking straw :D Although I'm looking for a pair for my other half's new NA Z I do drive it a fair bit, so comfort is a factor...
  21. Alright matey, in a fit of idiocy on my part, I've managed to lose both your email address and your mobile number! Need to have a chat with you :) If you could drop me a line on friday76@lycos.com tomorrow that would be perfick as I've got some interesting info for you! ;) Leigh
  22. Was looking at a pair of these myself (although with a different finish) but had been told they're a bit hard on the old arse and back. What are they like for comfort chap? Would be very interested to know. :)
  23. You will not believe your eyes...seriously! http://cars.uk.msn.com/News/car_news_article.aspx?cp-documentid=7598242
  24. Hi chap, thanks for waiting. Took a bit longer than I expected to sort the finances out. As much as I'd like them, it's now clear I'm definately not going to be able to do it. Which is a damn shame :( Good luck with the sale though, I imagine they'll go pretty quickly :)
  25. No need to apologise fella, I imagine you've got a lot on your plate! Will email now :)
