  1. Classic :lol: i watched the new trailer park boys movie only the other week, bloody hilarious  - - - Updated - - - About the same height
  2. Where do i start lol... Politicians have no concept of reality, ie living in the real world/our world. Average house prices or wages when announced by the government unfortunately include London, which has probably the highest wages per capita and highest property prices, so we never get a true reflection of any real average throughout the country. We only ever hear bad news or scaremongering in the media, after all misery sells, so we are also only getting a portion of the info from the media or politicians regarding any benefits or advantages to independence. I personally couldnt give a damn either way, but you got to ask yourself, has Salmond really thought everything through, with a contingency in place just in case he is wrong. What if he is wrong and when its too late to change the decision, Scotland is out on a limb and no doubt the country as a whole will suffer, usually financially. Like most changes though that people are against or unsure of, it might turn out to be the best thing to happen,i hope that if independence does go ahead, then it works out well for us all.... Unfortunately we cant survive on hope alone :scared:
  3. Nice one Ian and say hi to the old man for me, hope he is well :thumbup1:
  4. Well done mate, a well worth while weekend for you
  5. Great pics Lee, some really nice cars there
  6. I too have a K plate (93) but in reality it is a 1990, so earlier NA and i did indeed have the 26mm discs originally, which when buying discs at the time was a nightmare, so bought TT calipers and discs in the end, problem solved. Check your vin number, bottom of seat belt, rear boot carpet tag and plastic light cover in the boot, will have the original date stamped.
  7. Sorry to hear your sad news Al, not much more i could add that the others havent said, you have to do what you think is best and although you cant put a price on certain things in life, you cant put a strain on yours, as realistically, apart from some hugs and compassion there is nothing you could do that will change anything. Stay strong and keep your mind focused on what is important, here and now, which is providing for your family, im sure you can grieve and get the support when you come home. Unfortunate timing for you though being away and torn between your two options. All the best in what you decide, you have our support and if you need a sounding board and a chat, dont hesitate.
  8. I did when i first met him, until he told me his real name lol
  9. You will have fun though Russ, all types of Jap cars there to wet your whistle. Typical, of all the years ive been going in primer, finally get her painted then lose the engine lol, i missed last year only due to my other half having an op on the friday and my brother in laws funeral so was really looking forward to this year, like you, allowed away for the weekend alone
  10. Probably the Pirelli guide :lol:
  11. Pics or it didnt happen :lol: Seriously though, no pics
  12. Definitely worth going down the legal route, its not as if there are a couple of differences, its the whole bloody engine
  13. You want to spend less time reading shite on the internet Steve and sort your bloody engine out :lol:
  14. Happy Birthday mate, have a great weekend
  15. So someone had TT'd an NA engine?
  16. Happy Birthday mate, have a great day
  17. Zed will not be done in time, so im out  got more work to do on it that i first anticipated, have a good one guys:thumbup1:
  18. All the best Dave, have a great day
  19. Cool thats what i had hoped, replacing rings are cheaper than getting pistons too, although if im going that far into the strip down i might look into it and have myself virtually a new engine when done :thumbup1:
  20. Before i even take a pic lol i can confirm my piston crowns are stepped (NA) i have a couple of sets of heads which both have 30p stamped.
  21. IIRC you can use NA heads on a TT, but the cams and valves would need to be TT or may be just the valves that are made of a harder material. will check lol
  22. On the NA Steve, fairly easy, just time consuming, would have been easier for me now to have taken the engine out lol Thanks guys, when honed, will i have taken enough material off to worry about bigger pistons?
  23. The idle should be set without the aicv plug in using the idle screw and should be about 650rpm ie below what the ecu needs to see, then plug the plug back in and the ecu will take over the idle at about 750, but before you do that you need to make sure the TPS is at 0.44v closed throttle. Once you have the revs settled, check with consult the aicv percentage, which should be around 15% at idle, adjusted with the idle screw. If you have trouble getting the percentage or struggling with revs bouncing, then check your maf and on to check for air leaks. Have you got the neutral switch wire connected to the ecu pin since you did the manual conversion?
  24. When you unplug the aicv what do the revs drop to at idle?
  25. I guess honing with a diy kit will not remove enough metal to have to go over sized with pistons and rings, although new rings for def if im going that far with it.
