  1. Have a quick gander at this http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=142588&highlight=wheel+offset Depends on rim size etc.. but should give you an idea
  2. Yes if you have a spare pod, give it a try, im certain it will be a board problem and probably nothing glaringly obvious.
  3. No thats cool, its just that i had some dodgy red leds at one point, i found that the anode leg was wrong and they were fine on their own but wouldnt work in a circuit. They were sent back when i found out lol Do you the rest of the dash lights work? If you had a fuse blown for instance, it can affect the on/off lights. Although they work independently of the main lighting circuit, they have a dim effect when the lights are turned on.
  4. Just a quickie and probably a stupid question, did i convert your pods?
  5. You might have one of the little pins bent on one of the multiplug connectors or a break in a track. When you take the pod off, undo the 2 screws on the back cover and have a close look at the board. Also pull off the 2 multiplugs and check the pins.
  6. Im really pleased for you mate, look forward to seeing the pics, was looking awsome in the ones you posted.
  7. I cant seem to find the write up anywhere, I was pretty sure it was the pcv valves that had this done as a mod, i know something had a pipe cleaner in it to act as a restrictor, it seems to ring a bell now that youve found one there.
  8. I think it was a mod to trap oil to stop the valve blocking, i will try and dig out the write up
  9. IIRC a pipe cleaner is used as a filter inside the hose
  10. Hi and welcome to the club To check to see if its had a matrix bypass, take a look at the rear of the engine, for 2 pipes that come out of the firewall. If they are both attached to the engine, just behind the plenum(intake) then its likely that the heater matrix is fubarred. If its died, you will either have a burnt water smell and oily residue on the carpet and foot rest, in the drivers footwell. If there is one pipe at the rear of the engine in a U shape and you can see the 2 water pipes disconnected, then someone has done a matrix bypass. This keeps the water flowing around the engine, but you will get no heat inside the cabin. If its the matrix, do a search on here, there is plenty of info on how to replace, where to get the part from. HTH If you need the links or more info, just ask.
  11. :happybday: have a great day :happybday:

  13. Would love to see Ed try to work his bodg..... i mean magic on a zed lol
  14. No the heating is seperate from the A/C, you might have an airlock or your heater matrix has given up the ghost
  15. Cant see any posts removed in this thread mate.
  16. Sounds like your getting a vuacuum build and when you take the oil cap off it releases it. Pcv valves( postitive crank ventilation) may be blocked, sounds like its air related. JeffTT might give you a better idea, he deals with this sort of thing day in day out.
  17. Lol will find a link for the diodes, they act as a one way gate, let voltage through, but not return. Before you think about the diode route, i would change or check the little black box that controls the rear lighting. If your existing lighting worked fine before you converted, i would check each light wire for a short, most likely got a ground touching live or not grounding properly.
  18. Prop bearing, gearbox mount. Usually prop bearing worn or on way out that would cause the symptoms.
  19. You have a cruise board and button on the jap pod, that cant be changed to fog button front, but you could rewire to the cruise pins to be able to turn the fog on and off, but you wont have the fog light symbol,
  20. Do you have nornal bulbs in the lights or leds? Placing a diode inline with the light feeds will prevent any voltage returning back down the line. Also check the little black control box in the panel drivers side, they can play up and cause shorts if water gets into the board.
  21. I should have read the post properly lol
  22. lol, i will take my time on that bit then. Cheers Graham
  23. Here is the link for the whole thread that might interst you http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=107929 You might need to register but its free and some good info
