  1. Lol, you know nothing is ever easy on a zed. You may find the strainer is clogging up again, from the contaminated oil in the torque convertor. I know its a pain, but same process as before, drain, clean the strainer and new oil.
  2. No he is ordering them in specially lol. The cheapest Falkens i can get at the mo are around £120 each and until i have finished the suspension set up and other work pending, i wanted something a bit cheaper to run around. Im down to the thread on the inner drivers side ( Pirelli Pzero) so need something quick, not worth replacing one. My Falkens on the rear do feel great and i will revert to Falken for the fronts when the car is finished. So it wont be raced or motorwayed for a while yet. I know everyones verdict will differ, but the guy at the tyre place, for whatever reason, is convinced, these are better than Falken.
  3. I went to get a price today for some new tyres. Told the guy i wanted Falken, my rears are Falken, but he reckons the Nexen are far better. Cheaper too, £98 each fitted and balanced. I have booked it in tommorrow anyway to have them changed, just wondered if anyone else has Nexen tyres and what are your views/experience. Cheers Graham
  4. Drain and replace. The problem you have is that there is a good couple of litres in the torque convertor ( big drum attached to the flywheel) that still may be crap oil. So after you have done what you have done, any oil passing through the convertor will be now blocking the strainer again. Another flush and refill might do the trick.
  5. Quality drill bits, slow and a bit of pressure is the key. 4mm and work your way up in size. Took bloody ages getting one stud out on mine, using a ramp and 2 drills, they get hot lol
  6. You will need a few dozen drill bits lol and have the speed setting on slow, metal eats your bits if you have the speed too high. So slow and a bit of pressure. Took me an hour or so to get one bolt drilled out from under the car, using a ramp, so going to be more of a pain on your back. Get some quality bits, cheapo's will last 5 mins. ST
  7. Happy Birthday Mike, all the best. Graham
  8. I havent had the dead limbs lol, but for the past 2 weeks i have an inner ear viral thing, which makes you feel dizzy everytime you move your head, sometimes nausea too. Its a horrible feeling and scary at first, now im just getting sick of it. I very rarely get ill, but it seems when i do, it happens big time lol Hope its nothing serious and doesnt happen again.
  9. Too many to mention so im not going to bore you lol, im too modest
  10. Cool, now if you put some targas on it............. hell its ends up looking like a zed lol. If anyone fitted a lambo kit to their zed, they would have the shit ripped out of them, but im liking the look of that lol
  11. 240v x 120w = 0.5amps 12v x 120w = 10amps You can buy a regulated DC power supply from Maplins, i got one that i use for bench testing leds etc, gives out 13.8v but only 2 amps continuous and 5 amp surge for £14, the larger spec ones are more expensive, but they will have one that will work, but outway the cost to a new small hoover lol
  12. Looks like Bernie and leepu have had a go on it lol
  13. Ill be up for that, might need more than a couple of days, though, will take a day to mask and prep and primer, although we could do an all nighter on that part lol
  14. If we can get somewhere big enough to do it, im up for that.
  15. You know i thought that, when i rattled mine with primer, but after £70 in cans i thought, this is going to work out expensive, considering the possible finish. So i have decided to buy a compressor and gun and give it a go myself properly -ish. If you mess it up, rub it down and start again lol
  16. My ex father in law had a 280z, which was then written off, so he decided to look at the 300zx, but at the time it was about £35k, so didnt get it on the end, but i fell in love with it from day 1, but couldnt afford one lol. When i turned 40 i decided to look into them again, and hey presto, more affordable, so got one and loved it ever since.
  17. must be a misprint in the amps lol, you can run 3.1kw off a 13 amp plug, so a 1000watt is 5 amps, work it down from there, you should be fine with the one above.0.5amps
  18. Are you sure you 10amps for a hoover? is it jet powered lol Most car invertors ie 12v to 240 will only deliver 1000watts approx 4amps What exactly are you trying to do ( yes i have read your description) lol
  19. You could try these leds or similar, that have a 360 effect like a bulb http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-X-1157-Car-36-LED-Tail-Brake-SMD-Light-Bulbs-Lamp-Red-/260677966735?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cb19e1b8f Or red bulb http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/380R-RED-STOP-TAIL-CAR-AUTO-BULBS-BULB-12V-21-5W-PK-2-/280526209453?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item4150aa41ad Always search ebay if you cant find what you want locally
  20. When i originally used my reverse light as a fog, i used a normal white bulb and used some red lighting gel, but you could see the gel through the lens. I would go for a red bulb, it will reflect better in the housing. Mine passed the MOT with the gel method, if thats what your worried about lol
  21. Do you mean the led bulb doesnt appear bright, or how its seated in the housing?
  22. There may be a number of reasons to why your gearbox isnt performing or working as it should. Oil change, blocked strainer, blocked oil pipes. Do an autobox diagnostic and count the number of flashes. This will give some indication of the problem, follow this guide http://www.zmods.org/index.php?page=at_diag Then post up the result. Gearbox replacement is the last resort and can be expensive, normally best going for a manual conversion for the price of a new box and install. I think there is a guy called Phil at Blackmoor services who is knowledgable on zeds, but failing that, Zedworld in Tamworth, near Birmingham. HTH Graham
  23. When an ECU is modified, it means it has been chipped or socketed to accept an aftermarket chip. So your ECU may be mapped to get the best out of the mofifications the car has had done previously. Replacing with a standard ECU may not be the best move. You need to either find out what chip and what it was mapped to do, or get it on consult, which will be able to tell you both. HTH
  24. So you have 2 knackered clocks? I would get rid of both zeds mate and get a new one with a working clock, outrageous lol
  25. But it does also state that if the resistor had broken down to the point it let too much voltage through, it would have fried the board. So take the clock out of your other one:tt2:
