  1. Cheers Daz, i have pipes lol, its the turbos im missing :tt2: I will have a TT one day to play with, but feel i should get this one done first
  2. If once fitted it vibrates, undo the bolts on the front half and rotate 180deg should sort the issue. Assuming of course that the bearing you are fitting is fine.
  3. Yes according to some write ups you need coolant in the overflow tank, the rad cap acts as a valve to allow water to be dumped into the overflow tank via the overflow hose and draws coolant back into the radiator if the level gets too low. And this probably explains it better http://auto.howstuffworks.com/cooling-system7.htm
  4. You have a point there Baz, its hardly likely to draw it back by suction as that would introduce air into the system. I will have a look around to see what info i can find
  5. The expansion tank is used to dump excess coolant from the rad when under high pressure/load and it draws back what it needs, if required. Im not sure how detrimental to the cooling system it would be to delete altogether, but im sure Nissan put it there for a good reason lol
  6. Cheers, hopefully i will be getting the engine in sometime next month, going to be a 5 day turnaround hopefully, as i need to clean and spray the engine bay first otherwise im defeating the object lol
  7. Cheers guys, as Baz suggested, im not sure i want to put it in the car now, probably the living room :lol: Im going to have to be really careful when installing it, or take alot of it off, not sure yet how im going to do it yet.
  8. I used a plastic primer then normal paint and 2k laquer. As there are no moving plastic bits/nothing to flex, it doesnt need any adhesion promotor. There wont be too much heat in plastic bits areas to damage the paint, hopefully :biggrin:
  9. Ive done everything myself, so far lol
  10. The red light in some pics is the infrared light for curing paint.
  11. Update moving on from this thread :http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=150167&highlight=cam+covers I have moved on a bit with some of the engine parts that i wanted to paint, my fear was going over the top with the colour, but once its all back together it should be broken up nicely. Starting off with the throttle cover, i sanded down and smoothed the raised letters and will be replaced with these chrome Nissan letters, i havent stuck them on yet they are just sat on top, i need to do another couple of coats of laquer first. Also im placing a mirrored acrylic strip along the normal black or red strip found on covers. Everything is just placed on for the pics, nothing is bolted back together yet, i wanted to make sure it looked ok.
  12. The best paint to use is plastidip, it leaves a rubber like coating on the panel and looks more OEM,http://www.plastidip.co.uk/eStore/index.cfm?Plastidip_Aerosol_Spray&stage=3&colour=Black,Blue,Clear,Red,White,Yellow&pid=PDL-0009
  13. :happybday: Have a great day :happybday:
  14. So what pain is it to get the engine and box in together? i have this coming up soon and it makes sense, but i have read somewhere that you need a really acute angle to get it in.
  15. You can, but you will need a load resistor for each side wired across the feed and ground, alternatively you can replace the flasher relay with an led relay, so if you wanted at some stage to replace all your indicators to led, it would flash at the correct speed. Load resistor http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2pcs-Car-Vehicle-LED-Lights-Load-Resistors-6-Ohm-50W-/320659140021?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aa8c62db5
  16. Someone probably tried to wire them up as fog lights. I wouldnt bother with trying to find what they did to it, i would wire the inner bulb holders to the outer, therefore bypassing the possible short causing your problem.
  17. Then i would snap his hand off for that price lol got to be worth it just for spares if nothing else.
  18. If you want to buy a 300zx to make money, then i wouldnt bother. Most of us buy these because we love the car and generally its a labour of love. You will never or very rarely make back, what you spend on these cars.
  19. Although there may be differing qualities from various sources, where do you think most of them come from? China  The digital ballasts are better and seem to be more efficient and reliable than the analogue ones, but if you remember Yowser did some comparisons and there was no difference in output with a 6000K bulb.
  20. Re ebay link 1, i bought some and the light seems a little whiter than stock. Lets face it stock look yellow in comparison to HID's lol.
  21. You will need to clean the projector lens inside and out with either option. You can get some ultra bright H3 which are brighter than standard or you could get a H3 HID kit of ebay for around £30-£40, easy to fit, but again clean the headlight glass and lense.
  22. Nice work Del, a little tip, i bought an infrared patio heater off ebay for £36 and as its shortwave it has been great for curing paint on little bits ive sprayed in the garage.
  23. I use mine daily, which is why its taking so long to finish
  24. My god that is a bright red lol, but i love the clean finish of the flocking, still waiting for Ady to get back to me on the colour swatch i sent him. I have series 2 velour so hopefully he can match the same colour.
