Dielectric grease is the stuff to use Paul, will stop any future corrosion of the plug terminals I bought a couple of these, not sure if he has any left, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150592991798 or here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ANCOR-DIELECTRIC-SILICONE-COMPOUND-1-3oz-MARINE-GRADE-/310278134363?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_BoatEquipment_Accessories_SM&hash=item483e049a5b

Anybody after some cheap tools????
That is one hell of a collection, he might be better off splitting them into smaller sets, but bugger sorting that lot out lol
-
exhaust problem
Yes get rid, they are just noisy rusty pieces of crap lol. Occasionally if not loose you can get a small stone trapped between the zorst and plate, makes a horrible noise too.

Quarter Glass Decal
Very nice Andy. Heres an idea for you to try if its up your street. Get a couple of Blue EL strips from glowhut, window tint your quarterlights then mount the EL strip behind the lettering to give a nice silhoutte effect, simples  If you dont use window tint you will see the strip, unfortunately.

Auto Gearbox Wiring to Manual wiring
I usually leave mine off, the pedal switch is similar to the pwer mode button, it kicks it in automatically when booted via the auto ecu.
-
Auto Gearbox Wiring to Manual wiring
No the power button doesnt affect timing in any way. In power mode the gearbox holds the reves for longer between gear change, if you boot the accelerator it automatically goes into power mode until you ease of the pedal. The hold mode, starts off in second for wet weather. Manual cars as steams said, doesnt have one or need one.

Using a cheap N/A auto as a daily driver?
Hi Dave and welcome to the club. Obviously you may get varying views, hence the question. The N/A auto can be as juicy as a TT if not running right and dependent on how heavy your right foot becomes. I use my N/A as a daily driver, but by no means is it cheap to run. If you fill the tank up with super unleaded, it will run more efficiently and last longer than putting smaller amounts in each day. I dont now whether its psycological or not, but it definitely lasts longer from a full tank lol. You will get better MPG on the motorway at a constant speed, but still fairly low around town, could be as bad as 16-18mpg or less. As a commuting vehicle i would look at a cheap diesel to run, although sometimes not as fun lol or you could be putting in £80 plus per week with a zed.

Help!! starting problems
Another series 1 PTU is a straight swap, undo 4 bolts and 2 plugs. If you upgraded to the series 2 then its 4 bolts 2 plugs and the 2 plugs for the harness that comes with it.

You can't beat decent proper coffee
I know lol, but i only had normal coffee granules at hand at the time. I still need to get some proper ground coffee. Tasted nice though. :winkiss:

You can't beat decent proper coffee
As you know Paul, im a coffee drinker and do like a nice coffee. For years now i have used my tassimo drinks machine, they are limited to about 5 coffee types and have enjoyed them all, but for months now i refuse to pay the price for the discs as they have become too much for what you get compared to ground coffee. So at the moment its Kenco rich for me, with the occasional Nescafe Latte. I tried your little machine with normal coffee granules and i have to say that it was richer and stronger than the kettle way.

Side indicator repeaters - what else fits?
There are a few members with thos fitted Dave, i dont think there has been any complaints. I wouldnt worry what the description states regarding the bulb fitment, it can be modded to fit and work, its all about the look, if thats the most important factor.

Engine heat!
Yes mate, matrix middle dash. You do get some heat at the front end of the tunnel from the zorsts, which makes the carpet feel warm to the touch. Did you set the pod to 10 before you started the car?
-
Engine Rebuild!
Any one can clean up the engine externally to look like new lol, but the internals might be shot for all anyone knows.
-
Engine heat!
What setting was the climate pod on, ie? temp number. Even with the pod off the valve in the heater matrix will open at the temp last set on the climate, allowing heat into the cabin. Next time set it at say 16, turn it on for a minute then off, should cure the problem.

Throttle alignment (Jeff or anyone help)
Its probably not the fact that they moved, in the first place, rather someone adjusted them, then realised they were not opening together.
-
Side indicator repeaters - what else fits?
You can make anything fit, but i doubt you will find many that will fit exactly with no modification. Ive been looking at doing the same and have found some clear ones from a Rover 400 that will look quite nice, slightly smaller than stock and dont stick out so much. JamieTT has some beemer ones on his car, look cool.
