Back bumper removal
You need to remove your boot plastic panels to access the bolts, there are a couple of bolts each side under the wheel arch and on the bottom of the bumper under the car, also remove number plate.

My best mate
Sorry to hear the news bud, i can totally relate to losing a beloved cat, its heartbreaking. Mine was like a little human too, would come when you called or would come in as soon as she heard the car arrive and jump up on the bed for a cuddle at night. All the best and i feel for you.

Backbox Fitment
They would mate, but before you have to spend a load of money unneccessarily, try below
-
Backbox Fitment
If you have enough length, i would cut off both flanges and get a coupler tube with a couple of U clamps on each, job done. Before i went completely stainless, i bought 2 back boxes off ebay and had them fitted in with a coupling tube and worked a treat.
-
Backbox Fitment
Do the flanges not match up?
-
Backbox Fitment
Normally buying a catback, will have the correct size from the cats. Back boxes only you will need to get a collar fitted to slide over the old pipe. Either welded or U clamps.

Oem are more expensive and the goo, you see is silicone leaking from the bush, this happens when the material breaks down and dies lol Poly bushes are cheaper and as said are now a fine replacement, so its down to your choice really.

ECU Pin 44 and Auto ECU Pin 20
Yes the back up light colour is green/white from pin 20 on the auto ecu, it goes to the inhibiter switch, which is removed, so direct to pin 20 will work and ground to the gearbox or good ground on the body. Doing it directly to the plug if you were removing the auto ecu.

change the idle control valve - car dies
Hi Dave, the grey plug on the fidc was the one you had changed to spade connectors? It may or may not work, but change the terminals round on the spade connectors, they may be on the wrong way round.

ECU Pin 44 and Auto ECU Pin 20
Yes on the pin 44, but as your auto ecu will no longer be connected or working you will need to run the reverse wires seperately to the loom plug on the drivers wing. REVERSE LIGHTS The auto trans has a solenoid harness attached to it. This harness connects to the plugs right behind the drivers headlight. This can be discarded with the automatic (You will need to cut off ). the inhibitor switch plug (The plug behind the pass side headlight with 7 wires). Cut the plug off of the discarded transmission harness and open it up to reveal the wires. This plug contains the 2 wires for the reverse light circuitry (Black and Green). I have been told that the colors can sometimes vary. Simply turn your key into the "on" position and touch the two wires together to check if your reverse lights come on. All you must do now is run a new pair of wires from the black and green ones on the connector to the reverse light switch on the 5pd trans. Use plastic covers, tape and zip ties to do a clean job and to keep the wires from touching the hot exhaust system. To finish it up cut off the two extra connectors dangling behind the headlight since the automatic trans solenoids are no longer needed. Here is the layout of the pins, wire colour and where they go on the plugs

change the idle control valve - car dies
Your idle is too high still. NA AT = 720 RPM NA MT => 650 RPM TT => 700 RPM Have a read of this article for some readings when testing the connections http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.335
