  1. yup, that was me. Generally take it easy on motorways as I like my license since it gets a lot of attention, my speedo doesn't work and I had my son with me :)
  2. nice turbo's, though I have to ask what are your goals from the car? They are a big set, and surprised you went for the larger A/R
  3. fair enough, what power do you want out of interest mate?
  4. Will do. I'd like to do brighton speed trials, but will see how it goes time wise and see how she performs on the qtr mile through the year. Not kidding about on the door step, I live right on the front, so last year it was a case of walking to the end of the road and I'm there!
  5. I'm sceptical on the lag of these things, as well as fitment. They're also an old design from what I can see. Antony, Why'd you choose these?
  6. I do indeed, they're still on till after the next event as spacers didn't arrive in time, but hope to get the Alcon's fitted in the next few weeks. Can take you for a spin with kports still on if you want to see them in action
  7. Car is back in rude health, picked it up today and drove it back to brighton. Excellent work by Jimmer as always, even saw Richard Smith on the M4 :) I've been here a year and this is the first time it's come to down to stay as I've finally found a garage for it! Given the garage is a few streets away from me, and having seen a few heavily modified cars being stolen over the last year in this country, ranging from blatent drive offs at events to lifting them up off driveways, I've decided to put a tracker on it for piece of mind. May get a few odd things done in the week, and have a mapping session on Friday - fingers crossed
  8. Really? And well done to Bob, keep practising and the times will continue to fall
  9. it's a high pressure area when the car is moving, so the spacing or removing the rubber seals makes no difference.
  10. What are they though?
  11. lol, you painted the tires!
  12. Next challenge, test fitted my new brake setup and need an extra 10mm spacing front and rear to clear the calipers. I had a Ksport 355mm kit all round so shows how much bigger these are Pics to follow
  13. looking good, what's going on with your washer jets though? PS you'll be running more than 0.5 deg camber now that you've dropped it. but good to hear it fits!
  14. 14.7 is good for NA's (or when turbo cars are idling/crusing) This is the important bit from your write up Side Note: At full load on a gasoline forced induction engine (without alcohol injection) an AFR reading of 12.5:1 indicates a leaner mixture, while 10.5:1 indicates a richer mixture. Good AFR for a forced induction engine at full load is 11.8:1. In terms of chip, you need one for aftermarket turbo's that has maps to cover the extra airflow. Remember it's not the boost it measures, but the volume of air
  15. no wonder it went pop, AFR should be 11-12 on boost I referring to the ports on the front valve covers, connected to the IC piping
  16. Car is running again! Fantastic work from Jimmer, working weekends and evening to get car back to me asap. I'll be collecting the car at the weekend, and a quick mapping session next week before the next round on June 10th.
  17. what AFR were you running on boost? Also, the oil would have come through the front PCV ports when the crankcase was being pressurised, so hopefully your turbo's are ok
  18. you'll need to do your camber again after you lower it ....
  19. lol, we'll see :) Most of my sessions get over 500 fly at low boost and low RPM, but then hit a problem or other. One day I'll get a clear run at it!
  20. I have a spare set of new ARP headbolts to get you started :)
  21. what colour smoke? what was the AFR like when you did your dyno run?
  22. back from holiday yesterday and straight back to working on the car. Been keeping in touch with Jimmer while I was away and yes, 1 turbo managed to snap so no wonder I wasn't getting any boost. Anyway, new turbo's didn't quite fit so I've driven 530miles today to collect turbo, drive to Turbo Engineers, supervise adjustments, return turbo to Jimmer and then drive home. Good news is that it fits now!
