  1. My old bumper was worse for wear after my incident last year, CarMad made me a new light weight one unpacked pick these up cheap from another forum Lip attached cannards attached and wings attached (which is giving me other ideas
  2. I took a dremel to my bonnet to shave a few kilos started like this In progress done then added rear aerocatches
  3. Main goals were to lose more weight from the car, fix some gremlins, and generally make it more track orientated Winter started with a rewire, from what was an already trimmed loom. This lot went in the bin These arrived cue lots of winter nights starting at wires, diagrams and crimping!
  4. Some of you may know I have an FB page documenting my progress, but since a few don't have/want FB, I'm going to start uploading pics here too as I get time. As I've said before, not competing this year, time is being focussed on family and home projects, both of which I largely ignored last year! I also enjoy modifying and developing the car as much as driving it, so can tinker away at it through the year, so don't expect fast progress. Open for discussion, criticism etc :)
  5. 275/40 sounds right. R888 / Nitto / Mickey THompsons depending on the regs for your series I will be going for the same size for qtr mile on 17x9.5
  6. Was on the phone yesterday so didn't comment. I ran 305/30 19 for a few years, rolled/pulled/flared arches, no rubbing under extreme track use. Why did I do it, because I could! This was also when I put it together for fast road use and worked great. The comments from BobGenie and Z32Bolt are the most valid, wider isn't always better. The contact patch is driven by the weight, the grip is driven by compound and heat. What are you looking for? Quarter mile or circuit?
  7. I think the 'what did you do to your zed today' thread is a double edge sword. Project updates go there, so lowers the new threads and people can easily miss stuff. Agreed it does encourage others to post the smaller stuff, but we lose a lot too
  8. didn't see this the first time, glad you got it sorted. I ran a red top 20 for a few years, has plenty of cranking amps, but if it doesn't start the first few go's it's done for and will need a jump. Starter sticking is another matter as you guys figured.
  9. Can't comment on the oil 'level', but in terms of fuelling, you want to be 11-12 on boost, off boost nearer 14 (or leaner)
  10. do you have any leaks underneath at all? First thing to check otherwise it's rings or turbo's. When you said it was rich on boost, what's the AFR? Looks like you had a good trip and nice to see the car being used :)
  11. He got them from me, ps they are stillen ones
  12. do you have a spare battery from another vehicle you temporarily connect?
  13. So I'm not going after all, someone else was going to have the track time but they don't want it any longer. So I have 3 sessions going spare, can post today for delivery tomorrow or you can collect on saturday as I'm only 10mins from Castle Coombe. I know probably in the wrong section, but I'm not asking anything for them, though you're welcome to make a donation :)
  14. easiest thing is to send them your fuel filler cover so they can match
  15. Do you still have the carbon canister, and what kind of problems are you seeing? If Jeff hasn't got one, I'll see if I still have one on mine.
  16. That's not bad, how much fuel? This thread will give you something to compare against http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?137277-the-weight-question
  17. When mine spat a filter off, I tried 2 nissan dealerships with no luck, ended up getting one from halfords ...
  18. What was the overall weight?
  19. Hope that included corner weighting
  20. That's why I suggest just unplugging as a test rather than going to the effort of a clean. It will be lumpy if it's not getting enough air when cold, and depending where your base idle is set to, you may not see any other symptoms if it's not working
  21. IACV may need more than a clean! There's a really good thread on here about how to test it. Try a cold start with it unplugged to see if it's any different to usual.
  22. yes, but they look tiny teeny behind a 19" wheel
