  1. Scoobynet have got a fastest car contest on May bank holiday, Monday 31st May. It's limited to 100 scoobies (about 1 housing estate's worth ;) ) but other marques are welcome; so far they've got a 355, a Lambo Gallardo, a Tuscan and the usual RX7s, Evo's, GTiRs etc. Best 1/4 mile last year was 11.74 at 115mph Best top speed (over 1.25 miles) was 170.7 http://www.scoobyshootout.co.uk/
  2. You need to buff them from all angles to get the best finish ;)
  3. Hmm....what better Valentines gift for your loved one than to take her for a spin round a racetrack, and then give her a good buffing afterwards ? You could even take the missus along !
  4. Hmm - worth every penny though, if it's dry !
  5. 'kin ace circuit Great price too ! If only it were summer :( Perhaps I should get an Evo as a runner :D
  6. How about using the clear lens of the Altezzas with an orange bulb for the indicators and painting the centre panel reversing lights round (well into 2 semi circles actually) like in this attachment. Sorry it's a bit crude but I ain't no artist :o
  7. 911 (968??) GT3's are VERY quick on track. Ordinary porkers are nothing special though. Zs can hold their own with just about anything you meet :D Just make sure you get used to the track before you push it though, and try to avoid tangling with other cars...they're not professionals and I've seen cars wrapped because of other people's mistakes :xxx:
  8. Aim to only do about 5 or 6 laps before coming in, initially, to see how much hammering your brakes get. If it's an auto then you'll definitely not want to stay out much longer than that until you get a feel for the track. Made that mistake on my first outing (Oulton Park) and ended up with serious fade and blue flames flickering over the rear brakes  It certainly pays to upgrade the brakes on a Z. You'll need quite a bit of fuel (make sure it's optimax !!) as you'll burn it real quick and there may not be a Shell station nearby. Make sure your tyres have got plenty of tread (or carry a spare set) as you could lose a couple of mil's on the day. Main thing to remember is to do everything smoothly; no sudden turn-ins etc. Where are you going ?

As if by magic - cheers Mac ! :D

Frank (FG) fitted mine so I don't know how long it took, and like Mac says mine was the first one off the mould so it may have taken a bit longer. I've seen a lot of Luke's own kits though and they're as good as you're gonna get from Fiberglass. That being said, a fiberglass kit will never be quite as easy to fit as a urethane one, obviously. Haven't got any pictures on 'rides' yet; I'm waiting for my new "Viper" front to go on, and the skirts. Mine's the grey one on Luke's advert.

Not really a fair comparison though - perhaps if the 300 has been de-catted with freeflow exhaust. Toyota never followed the "gentleman's agreement" to restrict their cars to 280bhp.
  12. Best thing about that was they found one stolen car, a doctor's, with 4 dead coppers in it; who'd nicked the motor and then drunk the poisoned spirit :D
  13. It is possible - Luke at the Zcentre sells Strosek replicas - http://www.zcentre.co.uk/bodykits/bodykit3.htm Do you mean on the car at the top of the thread (the grey one) ? If so then that's an uprated intercooler. Would cost a pretty penny or 3 ! ;)
  14. Just give me a few weeks and I'll be able to grant your wish :D
  15. Cheers Stuart ! :D Was kickin myself for missing that !
  16. Cheers ! Just figured the water would stay cooler in the boot and mean I could still use screen wash mix for the washer bottle. Might still use the front one for simplicity tho; lazy sod that I am !
  17. Kitten tikka massala ! :D
  18. Spoke to them and it's a misprint - some guy was selling a plate off a 300ZX. Even if the plate actually exists they don't have it :(
  19. :D You usually get out of the traffic jam eventually tho ! ;)
  20. Agreed ! I'm running standard boost anyway - just thought it would be good for summer traffic jams; for when you finally get to put your foot down and it accelerates like a nova  Cheers !
  21. I'll get contact details for this Aussie company if you like ? Was thinking of experimenting myself anyway !
  22. A Scooby WRX driver mate of mine is about to order some water spray jets for spraying water onto his intercooler (seems the STi's have this as standard). There's an Australian company that they source their jets from that charge just $18 Aus. That's just the jets, of course; you need to get pipework and a reservoir bottle, plus we'd need 2 kits I guess  Has anybody tried water sprays, preferably fitting the reservoir in the boot ? Figured there's no room under our bonnets, and the water would be cooler if the reservoir were in the boot anyway! Guess it's got to be good for when you're stuck in traffic in the summer, if nothing else ?
  23. FFS ! That's why the NHS is so overstretched !
  24. As far as I know there is no original. The one in Mac's pic near the top is a standard Strosek that's been doctored in paintshop - I've seen the original photo. As for the lights, and please don't quote me on this ;) , I think they'll be much the same price as he currently charges for replacement OE ones, but on an exchange basis. It's to be confirmed though, once they're in !
