  1. Need to replace the yellow connector in the picture - it's just to the right of the PTU as you're looking into the engine bay. Fitted a series 2 ptu at the weekend and noticed that the wire casing was looking a bit frail on the yellow connector. Reckon must have damaged one of the connections inside it cause now it feels like I'm running on 5 cylinders. Also noticed the fan wasn't running at all so waggled the wire about which made the fan come on intermittently. Zed now barely starts at all when it's always fired up immediately before. Temperature gauge hasn't moved above normal and there's no sign of oil in the water so I'm fairly confident that it's not blown a head gasket (fingers crossed) while the fan's not been running. Tried some connector cleaner and wire brush as best I can but to no avail so time to go to see Nelson Mandella methinks ! Trouble is I don't know what to ask for ! Is it a temperature sender unit, or a viscous fan connector, or summat else entirely ? Cheers ! konrad
  2. You need to go through both Equifax and Experian. They are the 2 main credit reference agencies that all the banks, building societies, phone companies etc etc etc etc use. Most of the time the data stored will be the same, but not all financial organisations use both, so to be sure you catch it all you need to go through both. Experian are currently offering a month free trial on their online credit reference check system so you can have a look for nowt - http://www.creditexpert.com/
  3. Saw this in my local shopping centre.
  4. On whether these wheels would suit this Subaru Opinions either here or on this scoobynet thread please - http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=432651 Cheers !
  5. Get T1-S's while you still can mate ! Much better grip !
  6. Recently changed from T1-S's to T1-R's and now wish I'd taken the last set of T1-S's the tyre guy had available. Lost a lot of confidence since swapping over. S's had much better grip !! I'm told the new tyre was designed to address the outside edge wear issue that they've always had (hence the new tread band around the outside). Unfortunately it seems to be detrimental ! I'd much rather have the extra grip and change my tyres a bit more often personally ! If you've never run on Toyo's before I can see how you'd still be impressed though ! ;)
  7. I'm certainly not slating Mobil1, but unless your Zed is a low mileage one Mobil 1 is also a bit thin. For what it's worth mate I changed mine off it years ago (when it had covered about 45k miles). It's great for a new engine but because it's so thin it finds leaks a long time before a slightly thicker oil does. If your car's not travelled that many miles then great but for higher mileage models, which most are now, I'd go for something a little thicker ! konrad
  8. Only tried them in the wet so far. I plan to see if they just need to run on different pressures, and hopefully see how they perform in the dry over the weekend too.
  9. Really not happy ! I've sworn by T1-S's for years and just put a set of the new T1-R's on. They're so much less capable then the S's that I've lost confidence in the car. I'm getting wheelspin on standing starts and seriously reduced lateral stability ! I'm yet to play around with the pressures but I'm considering junking these and buying another set of T1-S's while they're still available ! I don't take the Zed out much in the winter but I like to arrive home alive when I do ! Disillusioned of Nottingham
  10. Yes, with a little bit of modification !
  11. MILF ? What a great plate ! Was she fit then ?
  12. They're not cheap, but at least I don't have to buy new disks every 6 months now like I used to ! If I keep it another 10 years they'll have paid for themselves ! :p They've been on nearly 5 years now and I've not even had to change the pads ! They're underworked really.
  13. Also sorry to see you go Jonathon ! :( Certain people have a lot to answer for ! Good luck with whatever you do next mate !
  14. Any update on the T1-Rs mate? Time to renew and I'm not sure whether to try the T1-Rs or go for some Bridgestones. Cheers, konrad
  15. You mean there's such a thing as a bad Hooters ? Hmmmmmm.....Hooters ! :) :smw: :)
  16. :D Nowhere near enough bling for Vinz, besides, no medallion hanging from the rear-view mirror :D
  17. Yesterday, Thursday 2nd December. "Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined !" ;)
  18. Yeah, the tories took that up a couple of months ago.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3474627.stm
  19. Ah - ok ! If the Soup boys arrange a good deal I might enquire about it for us when it comes to renewal time again. I guess with Zed's being quicker and more desirable than Soups that would make our insurance about 10% more than what they end up paying ! :smw:
  20. We do already get quite a good discount from Houghton (see the traders board) but this idea seems to be basing the premiums on the risk of the club, rather than on the individual drivers. Couldn't see quite how it would work.... Cheers, konrad
  21. Just got this mail through from the Soup Forum - wondered if we could follow suit if they get it off the ground ? "RESENT - Please ignore if you received this the first time but so many got bounced that the mail server gave up sending them, so I'm using a different one. Hi, Firstly, if you have already filled out a questionnaire then please ignore this e-mail. Right, for those of you that haven't we are investigating an insurance scheme that will allow our members to have a quote based upon the risk of the club instead of the individual. This could allow us all to have substantial savings on our premiums. However, to achieve this the insurance company in question needs to know some general details about as many of our members as possible. To do this they have you to fill out a very simple questionnaire which should take no longer than a minute or two to complete. Therefore it would be much appreciated by the club and the other members alike if you could spare a few minutes to complete one of these questionnaires. An excel format questionnaire can be downloaded from http://www.lee-mawby.net/SupraClubBespokeScheme.xls and a word processor friendly version can be downloaded form http://www.lee-mawby.net/Questionnaire.rtf Please send the questionnaires to insurance@lee-mawby.net once completed. Your help with this club benefit is much appreciated. Cheers, mawby"
