  1. I wish I could say the law was on your side mate, but the coppers treated my mother's friend like the criminal when she tried to press charges against a neighbour who's pitbull savaged their blind 14 year old yorkie. They even knew the dog was dangerous and had been told to keep it confined but he 'forgot' to keep his gate closed. :xxx: That being said, it's the nature of dogs to chase cats so I don't blame them. The owners I DO blame though - they know what their dog's like and should keep them under control. Anyone that watches their dog kill a cat, or anything else, and does nothing deserves everything they get. You know where he lives - have it out with the owner mate ! And yes, I think cats should have to wear bells too. Call me soft but I don't condone un-necessary killing !

Bummer ! :xxx: Interesting to see if another warranty company starts up with a similar name !
  3. Sorry mate - can't help you - they've been binned :(
  4. Unless the missus has chucked 'em I should still have a set of OE calipers you can use - I'll check in the garage when I get home ! konrad
  5. Or even your other quote :o Hmm...good point - course that way's actually easier to do too. I guess it'll also vary slightly with make of tyre - they should all be the same at a given size but some makes are notoriously 'fat' while others look pretty 'skinny'; but measuring from the ground gets round that too ! Unless we want to keep changing the settings every thousand miles or so of treadwear though we still need to make the initial measurement when the tyres are half worn. Extra forum - good plan :)
  6. Cheers chap ! Out of interest then - if the settings have to be calibrated that accurately to accomodate the size of the tyres then how much will worn tyres affect it ? I mean if tyres start out at 8mm tread, and wear down to 2mm tread it changes the diameter of the tyre by 1.2cm, and the rolling radius by about 3.7cm. So, on a 255-45-17 tyres, does the 45% of 255mm calculation assume the tyre is new, or half worn. Even if it does base the height of the sidewall on a half worn tread that still gives about 2cm variance each way, doesn't it ? I'll shut up now ! :x:
  7. Sorry to hi-jack your thread Stu, but while we're on the subject of RLTC, does anyone have the settings for 17" wheels ? Cheers all ! konrad

Try Trent Saab (TSL ) http://www.trentsaab.co.uk They now work mainly on Scoobys, I guess because there's so many of them, but they still have plenty of Saabs in. They prepare rally cars, amongst other things, and took my mates Scooby up to 344bhp (from 265ps standard). Not exactly up North, but Nottingham's only 70-80 miles from you
  9. Have to disagree with you Paul - I know Luke's spent quite a bit developing the new lights already so my guess is that they're just still not ready. The first car to get the bumper at FG's has been in the shop for months waiting. I guess the owner just wanted his car back for the nice weather ! I did hear a fallback idea was to have indicators in a strip down the side of the headlights (sort of like the 350). And yes, you definitely need the new centre panel - but that's included in the group buy price  You gonna post these pictures then ? :hyper:
  10. Hang on for a couple of weeks then if you can mate - there'll be a glut of them soon ! Luke's got quite a few orders for the viper on his books !
  11. Hopefully not ! :)
  12. No, I don't. The original plan though was to replace the two lights that are currently under the perspex headlight cover with three smaller round lights (like spot lights). One of these would be the indicator, one for the side light and main beam and one for the dip beam. The bonus of splitting the main and dip beams was that you could have both lamps on at once, either side and dip, or dip and beam. That way would both look better and give a better spread of light. The added bonus was that the the lights were to be the 'angel eye' type; like those on a BMW where the light appears to have a halo. Luke had a choice of 2 suppliers that might be able to produce the goods ! Has that plan now fallen through then ?
  13. Sorry Nigel - I've been away all week and too lazy to find an internet cafe. No, I've not got it fitted yet, and I've nothing else to add to the above comments I'm afraid ! I hadn't even heard about the MX5 lights option (which concerns me a bit, TBH ! ). The original plan was to have indicators incorporated into the existing headlights - not sure how it would look if we start cutting in extra lights !
  14. There's supposedly one in The Bill regularly too!
  15. Not sure that was the same case, but if it was then yes, he deserved prosecution !
  16. I think you may have misunderstood me mate - The guy got prosecuted for 'dangerous' driving although all he was doing was driving along at 27 when kids were about. They didn't claim he was driving eratically! We all take extra care around schools and keep the speed down but my point is if they want us to drive at 20 then they should put up a 20 limit, not prosecute people for driving under the posted speed limit. They could cut accidents more easily by prosecuting more drivers (usually parents) who park on the road right outside the school entrance. Kids get run over because people can't see them, and they can't see the moving cars ! Like you I've got no problem with DD & DWDC, but only where it's warranted ! I'd be happy to have 20 limits near schools, and on busy estates, providing they put the motorway limit up to 80 to compensate.
  17. Unless the gestapo have carbon dating machines on board these days though they'll have trouble proving the plates weren't made before the legislation was passed on a car that's between 9 and 15 years old ;)
  18. Struggling to find the original story, but here's the link to the ACPO's decision to charge people with dangerous or careless driving even if they're under the 30mph limit. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/848464.stm
  19. Definitely - I wish I wasn't ! I think he hit a kid and they did him for driving above a safe speed, although he was still under the speed limit :xxx: I'm all for sticking to the speed limit on housing estates and near schools but they should teach kids not to play on roads rather than prosecute drivers for driving below the speed limit !
  20. Class ! :D Would go nicely with a plate I saw on an old beamer - UPR 1X He had re-arranged it bit though ;)
  21. I remember a guy getting done for speeding a year or two back for doing 27 in a 30 zone because it was near a school. Seem to remember he got a jail sentence too !
