  1. It's twice the size of the standard Jap spec one so yeah, I agree, it's a must ! It comes with a custom made adaptor bracket that you bolt onto where the current one sits, then the new one just bolts to that. It comes with all the connectors etc that you need, along with some more connectors to allow you to use the existing oil cooler as a gearbox cooler upgrade. Fairly simple job.
  2. Good point - might not do too much harm on the back but I wouldn't want 10mm spacers on my current front wheels and I guess it's no different to that :( Cheers anyway though mate - I appreciate the advice !
  3. Cheers mate - I've now found & had a browse through your wheel FAQ. They did finally get back to me with an offset - You mention an offset of 35-42. Daft question, but are they the absolute limits, or could a wheel that's 'closer to +47' be ok ?
  4. Would like a set of these 18's off a Nissan Murano, but Courtesy Nissan say the offset wouldn't work (what with the Murano being an SUV) They couldn't tell me what the offset was though  Shame - they're flogging them for $100 each.
  5. Course, if I'd seen the sticky thread or run a search first I'd have seen Oilman's thread about Silkolene. Sorted - cheers Oilman ! konrad
  6. I've run on Silkolene Turbolene for the last couple of years but can't seem to get any this time  One place that used to sell it (Roadrunner) have Silkolene Pro S (10/50) and Silkolene Pro R (15/50) the rally car version. They're both about £40, as was the Turbolene. Does anyone know if Turbolene has been phased out, and if these others are any good ? Cheers ! konrad
  7. Likewise ! Reckon you could make quite a killing here ;) - there are plenty of us with large meshed intake style front bumpers !
  8. Doh ! Er - yeah - that too ! :o
  9. Same Zed for 6 years.
  10. Amen to that ! :)
  11. the problem's just that almost all zeds are 10 years or more old now, so most of the trims are faded and/or coroded already. They can almost certainly be restored, either to black or chrome, but it's quite a bit of work and I was just born lazy ! :D Plus, having seen the difference some made to a zed I just couldn't resist - you wouldn't believe such a small item could make such a difference !
  12. The ones at the edge of the targas and the ones between the windscreen pillars and the windscreen. Don't know whether you can change the one between the roof and the windscreen. There are three strips each side (including one very short one that does the t-bar.
  13. There are some sliding clips underneath the trims (3 on each I think). You can shift them with a thin screwdriver. You may need some WD40 obviously as they probably haven't shifted in 10 years. When you get the new trims you'll see how the new clips work - dead easy mate !
  14. They're very difficult to restore as they tend to corrode as well as peel/fade but if it's any help you can buy replacements and they're dead easy to fit! Not quite sure how much mine were but I seem to recall they were about £15 or £20 (from the Z centre). They really make a difference !
  15. Scooby mentality - if you don't drive an Impreza you're nothing ! Went to "The Northern Big One" meet on Sunday (405 Scoobies!! ). The 55 'other marques' that turned up had to park at the opposite end of the field  They did have some fit promotions girls there for one of the stands though :D
  16. Nice - my thread might go the same way then if they notice it ! :xxx: If that happens I've got 2 Scooby mates, both regular posters on Scoobynet - I'll just get one of them to post it !
  17. Here you go Mark ! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=336864&referrerid=19602
  18. Essential mod then, I guess ! Cheers !
  19. And waterspray, if you want to go the whole hog ! I guess the spray is about the only thing to up the performance in heavy traffic - even large intercoolers need airflow to work at their best !
  20. Sorry if this is telling you to suck eggs, but it was a really hot weekend ! Were you sat in traffic when you found the boost to be low ? If you're stuck in a jam on a hot day then accelerate hard when a gap clears you'll often find you hardly get any boost at all. 300's develop a LOT of heat under that bonnet and turbos aint keen on heat !
  21. Win,win huh ? :) Has the extra heat has affected the bonnet paintwork though ? Cheers Steve !
  22. Don't suppose you know of anyone that does a replacement ? I'd prefer to remove it, just on the off-chance, especially with it being so near the air vents.
  23. How's about we cough up a tenner each towards his fine, and any left can go towards paying his legal bill ? After all, he could have saved the licence of any one of us; and the £360 fine will cost him quite a few pension giros. He's a good lad in my book, and deserves our support !
  24. No problems with mine at all, crunching or otherwise :) Very short throw, quick changes ! Can't compare it to the standard one though as Luke put the short throw stick straight on when he converted it from auto for me ! konrad
