  1. Yeah, came as a bit of surprise. I wouldn't of been happy spending over £100 only to have to get the files out!
  2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Double-Din-Frame-Trim-Surround-Black-230mm-x-168mm-FK-/231558079098?hash=item35e9efe27a:g:KmAAAOSweW5VT86a It started out as one of these. I also used a strip of black vinyl for the insert on the back although you don't see this once fitted. When I get chance I'll take a picture of it fitted.
  3. Excuse the picture quality as they're taken quickly from my phone. One cheap Double Din surround (insert)from 'flea bay' and a bit of patience filing the edges of the insert to a snug fit so it fits the radio surround. Made to fit my alpine head unit. Interestingly I also offered this up to my pioneer DD head unit and there is a slight difference in size/profile. Happy that I didn't splash out for a new DD surround to find that there was either a gap or not enough of an opening, and would of meant modifying it anyway.
  4. It looks very sad and neglected; it's that sad that it's trying to mingle with the building behind it so no one spots it! Very sad:(:(
  5. I feel bad laughing because you're laughing, it's catching, now my Mrs is laughing. RIP all that have passed.....sometime or another:laugh:
  6. Simply stunning Tom, a credit to the Z community. Looks as fresh as if it just rolled off the production line! This is the front end I want!! I'll just have to be patient and wait for one to cone along............it's gonna be a long wait! Well done mate.
  7. Welcome back Tom. You'll be able to spend all that saved cash as long as you managed to keep away from Brintells!
  8. Wow, I wonder what the replacement will be for the Forces, hopefully something UK made!! Sad times for the industry once again!

  18. Check your radiator water level and inside pasanger foot well, high up the back (carpet/bulk head area) toward the centre console for any sign of water bud. Your matrix may have give up the ghost.
  19. What a thread! Now I am not one for normally voicing my opinion on a car forum because it can lead to a number of people misinterpreting my 'said' opinion, however with this in mind and without wanting to purposely upset people or cause confrontation here is my thoughts on this whole thread. Some of us on here are of similar disposition that completeley rely on Committee based decisions to get 'something done to a standard' and to act as the voice of many. If all our individual woes, worries and concerns were acted upon, nothing would get done other than a lot of 'trying to appease' opinions. Like many, I have been on, and belong to a number of different forums, but hand on heart none are as well organised and as helpful as this one, or are the committee members so dedicated to us. The committee have said that they would like the best of the best to represent the club at one, and only one prestige car show on annual basis . Is it really that bad that a decision has been made to set a standard, albeit fine examples of as close to OEM as possible.....for this one show?? Personally I would pay a lot more per year for both the help and social aspects that this appointed committee provide to us all, and if I wanted to play a role in a decision making position, I would first volunteer for any committee position should they come available. We are even struggling for a NEO. Excuse the 'google' description, however for me it says it all; committee noun 1. a group of people appointed for a specific function by a larger group and typically consisting of members of that group. We all like to moan, its the British way but for heavens sake guys, £10 a year.............!! Rant over and I wish the committee all the luck and please continue to make this club as good as it is, after all thats what I pay them for.
  20. Thanks for sharing Chris, hopefully you will get a couple of EA members. I would myself however my Zed is tucked away whilst i'm working away. Thanks again bud.
  21. Yeah I know, it's a right pain in the ass if you want to move your motor over a short distance!! I think the law changed to stop every Tom Dick and Harry transporting vehicles across the ends of the world on a tow rope. I know what I would do!! Does the place that is doing you're wheel alignment carry out MOTs?
  22. Here is probably a better explanation taken from the AA http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/general-advice/towing-advice-what-you-need-to-know.html Towing on an A-frame An A-frame or recovery dolly can only be used legally to recover a vehicle which has broken down. If you tow a car that hasn't broken down using an A-frame or dolly then the law treats the combination as a trailer which must meet the appropriate braking and lighting rules. Trailers below 750kg don't have to be fitted with braking systems, but if a braking system is fitted to a trailer of any weight – as is clearly the case for a car – then the braking system must operate correctly. This is not possible for normal systems fitted to cars, particularly the brake servo, which would not be working unless the engine was running. Trailer regulations also require the fitting and use of a secondary coupling system to ensure that the trailer is stopped automatically if the main coupling separates while the trailer is in motion or, in the case of trailers, up to a maximum mass of 1,500kg that the drawbar is prevented from touching the ground and the trailer has some residual steering. To comply with lighting regulations while being towed, the car (in its capacity as a trailer) would need triangular red reflectors and the number plate of the towing vehicle. The simplest and safest way to tow a car behind a motorhome is to use a car transporter trailer. This can be done completely legally as long as you make sure you don't exceed the towing car's Maximum Permissible Towing Mass and the Gross Train Weight (maximum permitted weight of car and trailer combined) specified by the car manufacturer.
  23. According to the law, if you fit a braked A frame, are within your license perimeters, are within your total All Up Weight of the combined tow car and towed car, then and only then can the carriage be classed as a tow car and trailer. An example of this is when you see a RV towing a car: The RV driver will have a license to drive their RV and to tow a trailer. They fit a braked A Frame system and car that our DVLA law then classes as vehicle and trailer. As the car weighs over 750kg the trailer must be independently braked.
  24. Unfortunately, you are permitted 'now' from using a tow-pole to transport your car. The use of tow-poles and ropes are for the recovery of a broken down car only and are not acceptable for the use of transportation. A frames however are acceptable as long as they have a fitted braking system, normally an inertia mechanism that must provide a minimum of 50% of the total braking efficiency of the towing car, as the towed car is over 750kg. Hire a trailer mate as stated, cheaper than fine.
  25. I'm gong to continually try and keep the EA Thread clean Guys; so don't be alarmed if I remove your Post and comments once you have posted your details.. This 'Sticky' will be for our Region master name list. Any probs drop me a post, espcially if you are not on this list or know someone who ha left the region or Zed scene. Spring is faaaast approaching guys, I am still working in North West Wales but will be arranging meets for the near future. If you have any suggestions/ideas please Post. I am working on a meet at one of my work locations (Not Wales, in our Region) which will be great for a photo opportuity and a bit of PR for the club. The location will be RAF Scampton, the home of the Red Arrows. I have alot of 'red tape' to get through but when I do this event could be great if supported well. Anyway, all the best guys, look forward to some Zed and face time!!
