  1. I thought this was a set-up, but it was true. A father was angry that his kids were asking for Christmas presents in the middle of November so he retaliated by letting the shops know how he felt. Evidently the police and the council didn't see the funny side of his antics.
  2. A very hard battle to be won and one that is almost impossible to completely irradiate. Throughout our own British history, extremists using religion as there foundation have terrorised society and civilians, as they present ‘soft easy targets’ and the effect on the public opinion is always outrage; of course this is why the cowards do it. For 15 years I and others on this forum have been back and forward to Middle East in the name of our British beliefs to try and win the hearts and minds of the local people and stamp out terrorism and support the local tribes to stand their ground. The Forces have lost many lives during the Afghan and Iraq conflicts and the atrocities in France should serve as a reminder that the coalition forces did win the war but did not win the fight. Please don’t forget those Soldiers, Sailors and Airman that are of Muslim belief that fight for the British values within our Armed Forces. As said and unfortunately, this is not an Army or we would already be on the ground and at war….trust me! This is however civilians acting in their minds as soldiers of religion. If we were (and possibly will) to put soldiers on the ground and more ac in the air we would only be suppressing these animals not irradiating them, they would ditch their black flags and uniforms and become civilians very quickly, melting away in the background to fight another day. Do not however underestimate our British Counter Terrorism branch as they are intercepting way more potential targets than ever reaches the papers or news. It’s interesting to read in the paper this morning that many people want the Forces to act at a time that many people want the Forces to make yet more cuts. RIP victims of any terrorism, thoughts are with you, family and friends.
  3. You've won, no competition there bud; the most scariest thing I've seen all year!
  4. Looking good there Jason, well worth the cleaning effort and she has scrubbed up lovely. I should be back home next weekend for a few days if you're about? Great to see another good example of a ZED in sunny Suffolk!
  5. Remember this very well and still have the magazine, very tasteful mods and detailing. Shame it's been broke for the parts; always a shame to see a Zed scrapped because the parts are worth more removed. Good luck with your new Dagenham project.
  6. There's only one Zed that can wear a plank like that and get away with it! https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:IMSA300ZX.jpg
  7. Welcome to the club Jason. I work away at the moment in glorious North West Wales but when I can I go home to the wife and the Zed in Barnham. If you ever want a brew and a Zed chat, pop over with your motor and we can have a look over it. There are a few member in our area and as soon as I finish my time working in Anglesey I will be able to join in on the meet scene again. Keep an eye out for events in the EA Region at the bottom of the forum home page. Hopefully met up soon, all the best, Tony. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?138-East-Anglia
  8. Good idea that mate, didn't stop you running the postman over though!!
  9. loads of upkeep mate, you're better off Powder Coating. Unless you are going for a bling look, even a powder coated one will need a good clean from time to time.
  10. DIY removal; No specialist tools required. Tools: Socket set, ramps and axle stands. Spares: Centre bearing, exhaust gaskets (if required) and exhaust sealant paste You can do this job on your own, however with 2 it makes it SAFER and quicker, and will make exhaust removal easier. Please, please please......safety first! Get the car up in the air with handbrake on, rear wheels off the ground. You'll need to get it high enough so that you can position yourself directly under the car, comfortably.....sort of. 1. Remove exhaust from the cats back. 2. Remove the Exhaust heat shield if fitted, you will need to give the shield a good old wiggle to get it over the rear of the remaining front (CAT)down pipes. 3. You will now see the Propshaft in all her glory. MARK A LINE ALONG THE JOINTS IN THE PROP AND THE GEARBOX including the Universal Joint to allow for realignment, use chalk or a paint pen. 4. Remove 2 of the UJ bolts (the universal joint halfway along the prop), take off handbrake and rotate prop to get to the other 2 bolts,19 mm I think. Leave one bolt in with the nut on finger tight. 5. Remove the centre bearing housing bolts x2, supporting the weight of the PROP. There should be 2 large shim washers fitted, take notice where the large shims sit. 6. Ensure that you push/slide the prop toward the diff/rear of the car. 7. Undo the last uj bolt (the one you left finger tight). Do not allow the prop to fall and bounce off your bonce at this time, a lesson learnt. 8. Split the PROP and remove the forward portion along with the bearing, the rear can/will hang in place but give it a push rearwards to ensure it remains conected to the Diff. 9. The bearing will either slide off the front of the propshaft or you may have to give it a tap, soak with lubricant if it is being stubborn As for where to get the bearing, MJP on this forum (Mike)http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?42-Official-Traders-Forums or Zed Centre http://www.zcentre.co.uk/ You could try a second hand one but obviously there is no guarantee.
  11. I'm with you there bud, jap looks a bit like a 'goofy tooth' IMO and agree without the fog lights. Its going to lead to the old discussion of how good a zed looks without plates! Lovely!
  12. Just reading your post again, you say a thump! Centre bearing is more of a rumble, not too diferent to when a wheel bearing is worn, if you know what I mean. Not so much of a single thump?? Just a thought to keep in mind; you will have to remove the exhausts to get to the Centre bearing, so if you are going to change your exhaust, maybe you could tackle the bearing at the same time as not to have to remove a newly installed sytem along with gaskets etc.
  13. Hi mate. The centre bearing is a relatively easy job to carry out and will cost new £120-£150. Your description and self diagnosis does seem to point to the bearing/gearbox mount. My car had the exact symptoms at a slightly lower speed, but be sure that your wheels are also straight and balanced as a guy on here had similar but after changing the centre bearing it ended up being a slightly elliptic rim. Anyway, what are you doing travelling at 80MPH?? - - - Updated - - - Yes it is buddy
  14. Welcome to the club matey, don't lose faith there's plenty of help around. Post some pictures of your car and explain what issues you're having.
  15. Personally, I couldn’t wait to get the rear skirt back on my arse end when my other Zed was retired from active Service. For me, yes it is a possible dated look, however if I wanted totally clean modern lines I would by a 350/70 Z. IMO it is an old school look on an old school car and for me it gives the rear end a depth/height. I used to have a much larger and rare Abflug rear spoiler but think the more subtle spoiler makes for a better complete ‘rear end’. I have been contemplating blending and smothing the skirt into the bumper. Choice is completely yours matey, My old arse end, still nice though, even Si said so!!!!! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?176160-Can-anyone-tell-me-what-spoiler-this

Defo with you on that one. The majority of sports/super/hyper cars IMO look better in standard (roof included in the sale) form. I do get the 'spider' concept but for cars that are built for lazy California cruising, not stuck in a traffic jam in the rain on the M25.
  17. Zeds and Reds lol, could be a good day. We do VIP days; and if could arrange it to align with a National Zed event on the friday before, we could get a good turn out. Nothing like 'out sprinting' a TMk1 Hawk on the runway for the first 200 meters. If Lewis Hamilton can bring his Merc down for the day, I see no reason why the humble Nissan can't have a play on the runway!
  18. Maybe I could arrange something in the New Year for the club and for those that are intrested. We would have to align it for a time that you are over here with the red beast, could be a great photo opportunity! Only in XX245 this morning.
  19. Look really good mate, perfect storage for thoe spare Zed parts...........now there' an idea!
  20. Well worth the wait in my opinion, they look lovely matey.
  21. Thanks Gaz, but these guys are truly the (sounds corny) heroes. I go to work most days and just do a job, then from time to time have to go on Ops, however these guys were on an Op every day saving people's lives. Remarkable part of the Force that we never be replaced but will be missed.
  22. Sad times, watched the last flight out of RAF Valley and saw the last Sea King leave by road. Valley is now very quiet as the last true RAF Squadron has disbanded. 3 remain but are all contracted to a civilian workforce. As I've said on here before, it was one of these guys and their crew that lifted me out of the poop in the desert. A very important but now a fast diminishing skill in the RAF. Good luck with the future jobs guys, see you on the circuit.
